Love Joe Jackson!

I love this track. This came out in the 80’s….time flies

JJ is one of my favourite musicians of all time. I saw him live many times and he and his bands were always stellar. Try some song from "Blaze of glory", then from "Night and day 2" and then from "Volume 4" and you will be amazed by his jaw dropping eclecticism.

This track is so 'in your face'! My second favorite track. And, after all these years I just got the line "you can tell black from white' meaning a piano keyboard. Duh! Thanks JP! Joe Jackson is one of my top all time favorites and he's still active today.

For a moment, I thought I was hearing something from Elvis Costello's Get Happy!! album - it has that same confident driving sound.

I've loved this song since it came out. Severely underappreciated.

Hi Justin. Dave from London, having a Lazy Sunday. Another terrific song from one of my favourite Joe Jackson albums. It has a Northern Soul vibe to it, especially in that insistent beat and the melody. [Northern Soul was a British phenomenon in the early 70s based around a dance club called the Wigan Casino in Lancashire UK - an example of the music is Out On The Floor by Dobie Gray]. P.S. my song ref Lazy Sunday is by The Small Faces.

Joe Jackson is such a talented musician writer singer. This track smokes!

Not bad, but I've always felt that 'Go For It' bears a slight resemblance to Elvis Costello's 'Let Them All Talk' from his 1983 album Punch the Clock, and I actually prefer this track to the Joe Jackson one. Speaking of which, you should try Punch the Clock sometime soon!😉

I would suggest "Laughter And Lust" for your next Joe Jackson listen. It has a different sound, as do a lot of his albums.

The whole album shows some kind of rawness to me, not elaborated up to the last fiber of the music. Almost "live" - and that feels good and energetic. And as you said before, Joe hasn´t the biggest voice and is not the best singer, but he still is a a good one. Because of his passion and energy in doing it. Both reminds me of his origins in the New Wave era.

Looking for "Left of Center" by Suzanne Vega and Joe Jackson. And you should go back to Suzanne. The whole LP "99.9F" is great.
