Oh and also was down 0-3 in that finals series and his team didn't show up for game 7. The dude has about 9 months on the job and then he will be an assistant coach somewhere else. Guaranteed. The Mazzulla hate from Celtics fans last year was so odd to me. And I say that as a Celtic fan myself. The dude took over the team as a rookie coach the week of training camp and had a surrounding coaching staff that was one foot out the door before we even hit the halfway point of the season. Was he perfect? Obviously not and nobody should've expected him to be. I can't wait to see what he does with a coaching staff that is truly behind him and working with him, and with a full season of experience under his belt. He's got my support! And if you're a Celtics fan saying "fire Joe" please tell me who is replacing him.
@Mr.Sax.

As a Celtics fan I have to say that I feel confused whenever a former Celtics player says something like "Boston fans can't be fooled, they know ball, they understand how the game works. Other franchises have a ton of casual fans who really don't understand the business." Well, these former players must have had the luckiest encounters with fans because I've had discussions with a ton of Celtics fans who don't know what they're talking about, the "Fire Joe" thing was just another example. You can see some of these people on this comment section.
@Mr.Sax.

@@joeparziale685 That's correct, but Joe did an amazing job regardless. He had no off-season to mentalize for a head coaching role, Ime got suspended less than a week before training camp. He didn't get to pick his coaching staff, he was there around Ime's guys minus Tom Hardy. Then lost Damon right before the playoffs. Also, people were saying dumb stuff like "Just do what Ime did" yeah right, Rob missed like 50 games and spent most of the season trying to get into game shape. Smart was nursing an injury for most of the season and was a shell of his DPOY season. So yes, good luck doing what Ime did without the two guys who made All-Defense teams.

The favorites, in my mind: Nuggets proved themselves a phalanx, Bucks and Celtics are going to become one, and Phoenix, Golden State, the Lakers and Miami are giving it all they got to try to make magic happen. The J’s started off the 2021 season out of sync and the Celtics were losing as a result. Marcus Smart gave them a earful and as a result they listened to him and started winning games. Celtics these past few years have also voted Smart and Al as team leaders. Jrue is not that vocal leader that will say what needs to be said to move the needle

I really hope that Joe learned from his mistakes in the playoffs last summer. I give him some credit for the near 3-0 comeback but I also put a lot of the blame on him for going down 3-0 to a worse team. Bucks won 2yrs ago, last year no 1 seed... Lillard joins... media positive. Durant wasn't too different, but he was hammered by the media...

I understand Joe Mazzulla got a lot of hate since he is a young coach, but basketball fans need to remember Erik Spoelstra went through the same thing but on another level since he had LBJ, Chris Bosh, and D-Wade. The Celtics believe in Joe Mazzulla, and I'll give it time before I make my final decision on how bad, good, or great of a coach Joe Mazzulla is. Celtics do have the talent to compete for a title, but it's tough to say which team in the east or west will make it to the finals.

He has that pop mentality with the media where he’s not gonna give them much, and I kinda like that. It’s weird when he’s a first year coach doing it but at the same time I kinda loved his post game stuff last year. “What went wrong tonight?” “We didn’t score enough points”
