I enjoy taking a piss at Firas as much as the next guy, but he's not actually wrong in this clip. He gets the 3 types mixed up and height has probably nothing to do with it, but other than that, what's wrong with what he said?
"Endomorph or ectomorp whatever I could be wrong." ~firas Joe ~ "you see thats the problem with this conversation is that neither one of us are biolgists"
actually it's worse than that.. the concept comes from old psychology theories, not biology. And Joe Rogan is more correct in the differences between the three types.
The somatotypes are usually characterised by shoulders and hips, not weight. Mesomorph - wide shoulders, narrow hips. Ectomorph - Narrow hips and shoulders. Endomorph - narrow shoulders, wide hips.
@@AxxLAfriku ich bin schokiert von der universellen vertretung dieses kanales überall auf youtube, seit jahren schon. du bist wahrhaft der letzte *echte* youtuber
Guy is almost spot on. You can be a mix of all the body types, your not just one. I’ve always told people in a perfect scenario you would be low on the ectomorph scale and high in the mesomorph/endomorph so you can pack on some good weight on your frame. Like he said everyone can get ripped, endomorphs might have to work a little harder and diet a bit longer but a ripped endomorph dominant body type will look similar to a ripped mesomorph dominant body type
Ecto has its advantages. Ideal is literally just meso. Endo might get huge asf with good muscles, but they will lack in performance and might have great explosive power but not enough stamina/cardio. An ectomorph will struggle hard to gain but if they are committed over a long period of time, they will get bigger, will be forced to eat and train like madman just to maintain their body, won't lose much cardio since due to being an ecto they can control it if they want more strength or eat a bit less and immediately lose weight and have better cardio. Mesomorph is the only ideal one because it doesn't even have to work hard to gain or lose.
@@cloudyns that’s me I gained 25lbs from 14-18 every year of highschool just playing football basketball and lifting year round. There’s truth to it, I burn out easy but you can train through it.
No one (with maybe some weird genetic exceptions) is destined to be some obese blob based on muh genes so I agree on that. However, if you don't think genes play a role in how your body reacts to exercise and food then you need to look at genetics. West Africans vs even East Africans vs Nordic Whites all have predispositions for certain body types. Genes do play a role no doubt.
You don't have to be fat to be an endomorph, Infact it has more to do with agility to put on weight, whether it beat muscle or fat. Like Tyron. He's an endomorph. He's not ripped, but he has a lot of muscle that he packs on without trying.
JOE! It’s ESPECIALLY important to listen to people. ESPECIALLY when you “think” you know more than them. Huge lover of the podcast!!! Just wanted to speak my peace!!

I'm an endomorph and what he's saying is true. Although I'm naturally fat, when I started working out I immediately gained muscle. Although the fat is very hard to loose but the good thing is the muscle is just as hard to loose. For me to look aesthetic I have to go on an aggressively low carolic diet which also consists of alot of protein. But if I eat like a normal person and still work out I'll prolly look like fat Thor but not as fat 😂
There’s no such thing as “ naturally fat “ fat is a substance that’s easily melted by calorie deficit anybody can lose fat but people will find a million excuse when it comes to diet and weight loss.
@@romelc6347 i guess you dont know about genetics playing to a persons body type. And have you experienced being fat? Im not pro fat or any bullshit like that but im certainly bigger than normal people and retain fat more than the average person. Yes diet will fix it and working out but I definitely have it harder to lose than the body types with normal metabolism
Testomorph should be a thing. People who get lean and pack on muscle because they run TRT or do cycles of testosterone, even tho they naturally have a different body type.
@@gm836 The ones who look the best at the end are endomorphs and mesomorphs. Ectomorphs have the worst bodybuilding genetics but on the bright side, can eat whatever they want and still stay super ripped.
It would be amazing to have Jeff on the podcast while Eddie Bravo goes crazy on some conspiracy theories. Jeff sitting there with a straight face wondering if he entered some kind of cult.
I'm an endomorph, thick with muscle. It's definitely harder for me to lose fat, but it is easy to build muscle. I'm currently working out 5 times a week, 7 months in and lost 16lbs, 206 to 190 and I'm 5'5"
@@Evl.28239 He's talking about biology and hes talking out his behind. The guys first comment was just agro saying its about fighting when the discussion doesnt involve fighting at all.
Jeff CavaLIEre uses fake weights while claiming he's actually lifting said amount. Due to that, it's also more likely that Jeff uses low doses of TRT and isn't telling anyone. Jeff uses pictures of guys on steroids to sell his own brand of supplements. Jeff CavaLIEre is a conman.
I watched this whole podcast and let me tell you what I've garnered from it...Firas is a knowitall and manages to be wrong a lot of the times... incredible.
I agree!! Definitely a know it all. He also does this thing a lot when he doesn't know the name of something, he goes " sorry I can't remember it now, though its in the tip of my tongue, because my mind is tired as I just came from training..." or some kind of similar excuse like that! Lol! He has many excuses prepared!
I'm 6'3" and was 158lb. Got tired of the skinny comments so I started working out every single day. 3 years later at 210lbs my friends mind's were blown
I'm definitely an ectomorph. When I was in my teens/early 20s I couldn't put anything on. Now that my metabolism has slowed a bit, I'm 28 now, I am finally starting to see the gains I've been working on for years. I have been exercise all the time for at least 10 years now.
@@urdad6882 Look I made plenty of gains, just that having an extremely fast metabolism, these gains weren't as fast as someone with a different body type. I trained with elite coaches and athletes and always had good nutrition. As an ectomorph, once your metabolism slows a bit, you see much better gains. That's all I was trying to say, I learned fantastic technique and people would make fun of my diet habits (I'd bring lunches and snacks every day while they would go to MacDonalds). It's just that different body types gain differently at different stages in their lives. There were gains, just that looking back the gains are coming much quicker now.
I was the same, bullied as a teen for my beanpole physique. I was very fit and healthy but never much muscle. By my late 20’s I got to 15 I was over 200lbs and almost ripped, you could see part of a six pack but I wasn’t aiming for definition. Unfortunately various personal issues stopped me from staying that way but one day…
I come from the weightlifting world, it's pretty well known that yes if their willing anyone healthy can get pretty ripped. Putting on allot of muscle is a different story much more difficult. That's why you see many more people with abs sub 200 pounds than mass monsters.
I've always been thin because I'm always moving but I did pack on 65lbs during a pregnancy and lost it right afterward. It did damage to my spine and frame. I work out but any extra weight goes right to my belly right away. I'd love to have my flat belly back.
I'm 100% endomorph. I can get so fat so quick its frightening. But doing weights i can pile on muscle so quick you'd swear I was on steroids... and I see extremely thin guys battling away in the gym and staying pretty damn scrawny
I sat beside Firas at a UFC event where he wasn't coaching he was just in the crowd and he gave some of the most precise play by play to the group he was sitting with it was so phenomenal for a fight nerd like me to hear. He called the K.O by Jimmo (RIP) before the fight even started amongst many other little tidbits. Then was super nice when i asked him for a pic he even propped his arm up on my shoulder to make it a much better pic man telling you it was a fight geeks dream come true! What a great asset to MMA.
@@flipf615 let’s set the stage here, I’m minding my own business just had a great dinner and preparing myself to train later on and my phone blinks and I see a notification from someone that says “ya sure” on a very basic but 100% story that I took the time to write because I enjoy interacting with MMA fans about the sport. Weird but if that story seems like a lie you just live a very ordinary life full of envy and disappointment.
There's no doubt there are several different body types. He's talking about the main 3 ones, but most people fall between one body type and another. I don't know where he's getting this short stocky guys always being endomorph thing from though. Pretty sure height is irrelevant to body type. You can be the same height as another person and be short and stocky or short and skinny. Lol.
