If he has he's never gonna tell anyone about it ... Kiss every sponsorship goodbye you can't be in a car related industry and have a reputation for driving fucked up
because JR isn't a piece of shit, and it's extremely intriguing. Have you ever seen this side of JR? I haven't.... This type of conversation is one of a kind and you won't find it anywhere else unless you're bullshitting with the man himself..NOTHING IS FAKED. Getting to see the other side of these people one of if not the best form of entertainment available since it is so rare. People being real is everything.
exactly. i was yelling at my iphone listening to the musk interview. Rogan derailed Musk every time he got going on a subject with his stupid pot head conspiracy theory shit.
Devon Couch I got caught up in the money, the power... I don't give a shit. Oh fuck, man... I had no choice... I had to do it... I just see the opportunity. When I'm gone, everyone gonna remember my name... Big Smoke!
I wish YT had gold and platinum awards we could nominate one comment for and the user of the channel picks which one wins, but since they dont i give you the imaginary platinum award for commenting. Very ammusical
the son of NASCAR's most important driver, and he's changing oil for $130 a week. there's something very cool about the underlying father/son parenting storyline.
You gotta learn how to pull your own weight somehow right? Kids won't learn shit if they are given everything they want for free from their parents. Have them work even if they dont need to, let them learn value, and when they need help but have too much pride in themselves to ask for it, you as a parent can prop them up and support them.
Tweeter05 While having one of the best finishes of your career and for the team. (2001 Daytona 500) then winning the 500 and not having your dad there.
You ought to watch his podcast called " Dale Jr. Download", it's more or less NASCAR centered with him bringing in NASCAR legends, hall of famers, current drivers or crew, but he has had other guests like Stone Cold Steve Austin come in. Every episode has been great so far.
I've met him couple times at races. He treats fans like your his buddy. Just a normal down to earth guy. His dad would be very proud how he ended up. Shame he never won a cup. Definitely deserved to win one.
Dale jr has his own podcast called "Dale Jr Download". I mean, it's more NASCAR centered, with him bringing in NASCAR legends, team owners, current drivers and the like. But each guest he has had, told great stories, and each episode is great.
Dales one of those people that you meet in real life and how normal they are shows through not only in the interviews they do but the way they act in person. He’s really humble and it’s great to see.
"in 1998 I was racing at Daytona." Bro, I remember this race. I feel like the 90's was THE decade that NASCAR was at its absolute peak. It's probably become more popular technically... but that era was just such an amazing time to be alive through. A massive part of the sport died the day this mans father passed away on the race track. You could feel it in the air even if you weren't at the track. It changed the sport forever. I had a childhood friend who's parents had their ENTIRE house decked out in Dale Earnhardt stuff... thinking back I bet they made a LOT of money on some of that stuff. But yea Jr. and Gordon were new on the scene and were soo good.. Senior was a veteran along with countless others that were still racing at the time. It was just an amazing time for the sport and as a kid growing up I can't thank these people enough for just making that such a special time for SO many people. Hopefully one day the sport gets that "passion" back. After Gordon and Jr. retired that was just the nail in the coffin for so many people. I still enjoy the sport but just not like I use to. NASCAR was like a way of life lol
I never liked Nascar...but growing up then, I knew more than a few Families like that. They all had their Favorite Driver, and it would be an entire Family behind that one Driver...and it was usually Dale or Jeff Gordon. Nascar Fans were possibly the most Fanatic of all the Sports Fanbase.
As a person who grew up watching Dale Jr race, in a family who all rooted for Dale Jr, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest to hear that Dale Jr fliped a pickup truck whilst driving down the road by himself.
suckafool123....my whole family, me included, were all Dale Jr haters...I grew up a Roush and Penske fan, hating ALL Garbage Motors built chevy junk... #AntiBowtie
Dale jr is a perfect example of how to raise a kid. All the money that family had and he still had to pay for his own truck. Plus u can hear the respect/ fear he had for his dad at 18. U just dont see that nowadays. Especially with kids who parents have money. Never would have guessed
Dale had terrible parents. Everyone of his brothers and sisters will acknowledge that including he himself. He turned out great for reasons beyond that.
Guys aren't rocking the "I mean bidnizz" mustache anymore. You have a mustache like that and motherfuckers will just get in line and do what you say instinctively.
The coolest part man and it explains why dale jr is so humble at 18yrs old his dad could have bought him whatever car he wanted and he could have been some rich boy Prick but he worked and bought himself a s10 pickup making 130 a week...that’s so cool I mean back then he might not have thought that but it made this man who he is and that’s why dale jr was always my favorite driver
It's a joy to hear Jr talk about Dale Sr, their relationship has always been much akin to my own relationship with my dad. That and my dad was such a huge fan of Sr back in the day. That guy is a legend.
@@bretman34 I think that's the only other one and even then, when they were talking about their favorite dogs, he still interrupted but it was ok at that moment.. if that makes any sense.
I drove the NASCAR experience in Las Vegas and I remember thinking the same thing. Only going 150mph but going into the turn thinking no way! Spotter on the radio saying “go hard!” and the car just sticks. Violent, loud, my forearms hurt after just 5 laps. But by the time I was done I trusted the car and wanted to go faster. Damn rev limiter!! If you get the chance find a groupon and do it!
I did the Talladega experience and your comment about your forearms is soooo damned true. But it was absolutely one of my favorite things I've ever done.
If you don't understand the intricacies of racing you'll probably just think it's people turning left but if you understand what is actually going on it is insanely exciting! Same goes for most other sports. You can always appreciate them more when you have knowledge of the sport.
Two Kids My dad ran into jr. at the Charlotte Airport about 12 years ago, he was just casually sitting down reading a news paper and sat right next to him, my dad said “hey man anyone ever tell you that you look like Dale Jr”, he laughed and just said yes sir all the time. They talked about 20 minutes before he had to catch his flight but he was such a nice guy to talk to, I was too young to know what was going on but looking back I could tell he doesn’t carry himself like he’s better than anyone at all, great dude.
I did a ride along at talledega and I was amazed of how loud the car gets when they drive close to the wall and the G force going around the turns is incredible the grip is amazing it was just an awesome experience
@Beaujangles McJiggle not a Nascar fan really but his dad Dale Sr. Was one of the most popular most successful Nascar driver's ever. His nickname was the intimidater. Jr. Was probably even more popular and a highly successful driver also. Not as much as his dad but as jr said in this interview he added to his dad's legacy not hurt it. He drove for 14 years having many wins and even cup wins. He only retired due to concussions
That was a great story. Dale Sr was an amazing man. My nephew lost his legs at 2 in mowing accident. At a race he was trying for autographs. Needless to say Chocolate brought him my sister and her husband into their pit and got to spend time chatting. Getting pics. Simply amazing. I truly believe that incident inspired my nephew. He now drag races a nitrous corvette. I need to get him and my sister to gather all those items and ensure they preserved.
Look how happy he was telling that story. He was reliving the exact moment as he spoke. Hence all the detail. The fact that Joe was silent probably helped him dive even deeper into the moment. ⚡
DEI for life. Thank you DJ for all the memories! I wasnt old enough to watch your dad live but I followed you from 2001 when I was 7 until you retired, and youre as important to Nascar every bit as your dad was. You the man.
I’m a causal NASCAR fan and followed JR throughout his racing career. His personality and persona his textbook how to act when you are the son of a famous person. He has always been humble, self deprecating and is a fan like all of his father. Stand up guy 👍🏼👍🏼
The most astonishing thing about this interview is how Dale jr. has remained humble and normal throughout a lifetime of being surrounded by fame, astronomical money and intense scrutiny.. I know some people will be squeamish regarding the part about Dale Sr being strict and 'whipping out the belt', but I'm positive that played a major role in Dale Jr's attitude and disposition today.. That and the fact that he was taught to pay for his own things as a young guy.. Making $100 payments on a used truck as an 18 year old is the PERFECT way for a kid to learn the value of things..
Hearing Dale Jr. Talk about the grip of those cars at those speeds is awesome insight and painted a great picture for me as the listener. Reminded me a lot of the boxer Andre Berto describing what it was like fighting Mayweather. Watch that interview if you get the chance. Both are very cool insider info.
I love Dale! I was a huge Earnhardt Sr. Fan as a kid n me n my father went to the Daytona 500 every year! I was there when he died! The car actually came to rest directly in front of us! Was one of the saddest things I've ever witnessed! Hundreds of thousands of ppl and U could hear a pin drop walking out of there! No one was talking! Few ppl crying! When they pulled the sheet over the car u knew what it meant! It was crazy! Just pure shock! RIP Dale sr. The best to ever drive a car! Great interview!
Dale Jr. is one of the most humble good guys to ever race. Ive always been a big fan of him because of this, his Dad was a badass and abrasive which is what we all loved about him but Jr. is more humble and nice. I actually crashed my Sierra truck in November almost exactly how Dale Jr did, my right leg was crushed by the dash and my hands were torn up but I was perfectly fine everywhere else. If you look at the truck, youd think theres no way the person survived, but I did. They had to cut me out though.
Amazing guy. I'm not really into nascar but I have a lot of respect for this dude. Had to be horrifying to see his father in that wreck. The ONLY time in my whole life I ever watched nascar happened to be the race his father died in. Never forget it. I was like 8... He had to have seen it, and its forever going to be on video. Feel really terrible for him to have seen that.
I would hate to have lost my Dad like that (my actual Dad, I'd drown him in the tub) but there's no better way for Dale Sr to go out than how he did. If you had to choose anything besides "getting old and sick and dying" about everyone would pick the way Dale went out.
He didn’t see it because he was ahead of his dad. Dale, Sr. was trying to hold everyone back so teammates Michael Waltrip and Dale, Jr. could place 1-2.
There are no GP racers that have also competed in the TT. Problem is most GP racers don't speak English so well, Roger Hayden would be a good guest though.
@@wyckedan Really? None at all? That's surprising! In that case maybe I don't mean moto gp, but instead, just superbike and super sport racers in general. There are several racers from the UK who speak English and have competed in the TT tho and he needs to get one of them on the show!!!
@@hughjair133 I can only imagine Joe's reaction to seeing some of the videos and being like "wtfff". Yeah NASCAR is dangerous but not anywhere even close to the TT. It makes NASCAR look like little boys having fun on a go kart track. Every corner is life threatening. And some of the passes are just UNREAL. He would be absolutely blown away
Such a shame people can only compare Earnhardt Jr to his father. Talent usually doesn’t run in the family, we’re lucky to be blessed with his presence on the track. Not every father and son is Dell and Steph Curry, Earnhardt Jr is great in his own light. He’s not on the level of Sr. but he doesn’t have to be! It’s amazing to hear him speak on his career and his fathers legacy. He’s quite the personality!
What a cool guy. Would love to grow up like he did. Ive flipped a truck like that and his commentary is legit! True man with balls that kept his cool!!!
I'll never forget Dale Sr.s death, and how much that impacted so many people even to this very day. I'll also never forget that crash Dale Jr. had in that Corvette in Sonoma many years back. It's a miracle he survived that, that car was fully engulfed in flames and it's crazy that he was able to pull himself out. I remember Jr. saying he was searching all over to thank the guy who pulled him out, and he couldn't believe that he managed to climb out until he saw it on film. Some one was looking over him that day, that's for damn sure. I have all the respect in the world for Dale Jr. He's had to endure some of the most painful hardships in life in the public eye, and that can''t be easy.
Dale Earnhardt Jr: When I flipped my car it wasn’t that scary because your strapped in so tight Joe: That’s insane, but have you ever done DMT while driving a race car?
