Hilarious and true my friend...he's my age well I'm 41 so in the ballpark..those movies were a big part of my child hood. Awesome. That and Batman Goonies, stand bye me...I feel like that era was better for movies
Great podcast! I normally listen to JRE at work. My back is acting up today, so I took the day off. My wife's at work, so I watched this at home alone. I wonder if anyone else watched this at home alone 2?
Macauly is a very good conversationalist. The way he handled Joe's misunderstanding in the beginning was very smooth. He didn't have the need nor the desire to correct Joe and just let it roll
Joe is a loser. Macaulay is way too smart and well spoken for this dumb show. Joe couldn't hold up to the conversation, he had nothing smart top say so he just asked a whole bunch of dumb questions. Joe sounded kind of jealous.
@David Patrick the rat being attracted to the rat pee mcauley was saying how evolution has made the rat attracted to the pee in order for the cat to catch the rat, but Joe wasn't grasping that and mcauley just let it roll, he handled that professionally, decided to let his own argument go in order to keep the peace between them and let Joe save face. Had he argued it could have been awkward after for both and McCauley would have been percieved as an asshole for showing how stupid a person was being. Just because someone is stupid during one interaction doesn't mean they're stupid entirely, but for that person the embarrassement is a lifetime
@@seanaguayo Mcauley said that it was an advantage for the cat to have toxo because that leads their prey to them, this is wrong. The rat having toxo leads the rat to the cat, the cat having toxo will not attract any additional prey.
This was a good episode. Macaulay Culkin is a child survivor of the hollywood industry and home alone is still one of my favorite childhood movies. The dude is humble and very well rounded guy. I'm glad some full episodes are still on here.
Honestly I'm not really a fan of Joe as a comedian, but I appreciate his ability to almost completely drop that persona and just be a normal, serious dude during his podcast. It's like two completely different people, and maybe outside of some potential good/funny chemistry, it usually makes for a better, more thought provoking discussion.
Culkin is a coward. He just bent the knee to the cancel culture mob on twitter and he wants to censor Trump out of Home Alone 2. He is just another in a long line of far left morons who have Trump derangement syndrome.
The greatest thing to me was his recovery from heroin. Don’t wanna get all sensitive and such but lost my brother to it, and some years after I saw Culkins famous photo of him, thin, decrepit and that made me cry senseless, in my head he was almost dead tbh. Now... it makes me so happy seeing him healthy, witty, funny. W Macaulay. ✊️✊️
Recovered from smack myself. Statistically only one in ten does but it always feels less than that due to so many families losing loved ones. Condolences for your brother. I remember being at a rehab and they passed a magazine around showing how bad Culkin looked. I didn't think he was going to make it .
The chemistry between Rogan and Culkin is fascinating. They are each wonderfully their authentic selves, very respectful towards one another, and have an equally positive vibe that is just lovely for a casual conversation.
Good. That guy is already bat shit crazy. That Jarred Leto fuck was abysmal. I watched the Dark Knight last week couldn't believe how a 10+ year old movie was so much better than the recent.
I really enjoyed this episode, Macaulay is so personable and just down right a good human being. I'm glad he's a dad and has his own family to love and cherish.
Have only gotten into Joe Rogan podcasts lately and I have to say, it's so refreshing. It's like watching one of those open ended chats that you end up having with someone you just met on a night out.
I hate when Joe doesnt acknowledge that someone is joking, but instead takes what they're saying as if they're serious and then he corrects them...such a weird move.
Oscar Nilsson Joe is actually kinda funny, a funny comedian even but he’s not quick witted.....jokes fly over his head all the time, especially when he has a comedian on

I have to say not only are his movies holiday season classics, this man turned out to be a dope human being. Sounds like a chill, laid back, down to earth man.
I was always under the impression this dude was traumatized for life due to how in control his parents were with his life. I'm glad to see he's turned out well, he definitely seems like a pretty laid back and chill dude.
@@bbeeez In context to being a child worldwide famous celebrity who eventually went t off the rails. He is grounded with himself finally after years of Hollywood debauchery and being open about. Being a famous kid can really mess with his moral compass.✌️
I know this was 4 years ago but I must say one of the best JRE podcasts I’ve seen! What a great conversation! I really really like Macaulay Culkin!!👏🏻👏🏻
Word. This is the time I needed to hear it, not five years ago when my life was falling apart. I’m able to appreciate it much more now to see that we both grew together. This was a great episode.
This dude is the absolute best child actor of all time from home alone to richie rich and my all time favorite movie of him the good son. He was such a evil bastard in good son and I hated him, but that just speaks to how incredibly talented he is. I grew up on his movies and i will forever be a fan of him.
I never thought Id see a clean and polished Macaulay Culkin speaking with disappointment about Johnny Depp's current mental state while Donald Trump is in the white house. I also never would have predicted the fear factor guy would one day be considered one of the leading interviewers of our time. Life is crazy, man.
Really wish he had, Maron did! Maron kinda jumped right into all the awkward stuff. I liked this, but I feel like Rogan didn't wanna go to any of those places and they just shot the shit about boxing and france and random celebrities. Kinda cool.
I just watched HOME ALONE. I checked my phone during a commercial and this was on my feed! Lol that’s OK though I’m glad I found it it’s a great interview. When my son was little we watched HOME ALONE every season on VHS.
25:58 Best part of the interview. Joe: So you have a podcast as well? Macaulay: Yeah we do Joe: Hmm.. So this is just a fun project for you? That is what we call subconscious competitiveness folks.
Joe is a loser. Macaulay is way too smart and well spoken for this dumb show. Joe couldn't hold up to the conversation, he had nothing smart top say so he just asked a whole bunch of dumb questions. Joe sounded kind of jealous.
This is golden and represents what is great about Joe Rogan's Podcast. I missed this one by a few years obviously. I get the feeling if past lives are real that Macaulay and Joseph used to heckle Roman soldiers together as kids, and get away with it. They get along so well and it's a pleasure to listen to men who are funny, compassionate and aware.
Mack wasn't lying, he does have an incredible memory. He was on top of every topic Rogan brought up from the 80's and 90's. Who remembers a Chuck Woolery crap band?
Nicholas Bergmann There is a whole translation guide for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives that is the same way. You can tell whether Guy likes the food or not based on the compliment. If he comments on how long they have been around, or how nice they are, he doesn't like the food.
I like almost all mature, good natured and genuine people. That said, I think he's probably the kind of guy who if you didn't know who he was beforehand, and struck up a normal conversation with him, he'd likely entertain you. I'm guessing that meeting non-fans becomes desirable out in the real world, once stardom gets old. And wouldn't doubt that living aboard had something to do with having some restored anonymity. Glad to see he turned out to be such a humble guy after achieving his level of fame. If I ever bumped into him (especially after seeing this interview), I'd thank him for the positive influence he continues to have on my life. What a great dude!! --Not sure which of his movies are my favorite from childhood, either Richie Rich or Home Alone.
He’ll yeah I love both the first and second movie. I watched those 2 and the goonies almost every day when I was a kid. I’m 30 and I’ll still watch the 2 home alone movies, usually around Christmas. Everything about the movie is awesome. Well written and the acting is good. Glad they both were part of my childhood.
Doing well he started a mk ultra bunny 🐇 ears company with satanic T-shirts and just tweeted about starts eating 🍴 babies at the Oscars what part of fine are you talking about moron he is anything but fine smh people are so fucking dumb I swear
You're a complete dumbass if you take any of that stuff at face value lol. It's all just a bunch of edgy shit that ties into modern meme culture, dude. 😂
Mac was pretty funny and charming, yet also humble and not overbearing, at the same time. He knows how to politely and subtly save face, when to agree and move on, et cetera.
I hate when a guest says a funny joke and Joe takes it so seriously. "I was hoping they would go ass to mouth with the cameras" and Joe just says "Why" with no expression.
That was an awkward joke, but he kind of meant "I wish I'd ended up the situation where they'd tried to do that" and it came out a bit... wrong. Ironically it turned into the kind of awkward situation MC was daydreaming of
I know this was 4yrs ago, I am so glad to hear that Macaulay turned out good. He has a baby girl now with the same special female(now fiancé). I wish them the very best.
Let me help you in 1 aspect of real life @LilBoiMajora... TV = tell-lie-vision. TV and media purpose is to indoctrinate you with propaganda, form what you believe about people. Same they did to Gadaffi who was a great man who made Libyia better than America, and Fidel Castro too as his people have free healthcare and education. America is really the shithole 3rd world country. They depict McCauley bad for their own reasons and you believe it.
Millionaires Club LLC Did you really delete your comment just to tweak it cause you know you sounded dumb? You remind me of myself when I was 11 & discovered what Atheism was lol Anything to feel superior for 10 seconds on the Internet though right?
I have to say McAuley Culkin said a lot of really funny things in this interview that Joe completely missed… It’s like Joe’s always concerned with what he saying lately rather than listening to what the guests are saying
Sharkfan exactly! I am so tired of his condescending crap and his pretentious “I find that so fascinating” monotone disposition. Is constantly gaslighting his guests to make them have to explain things that are absolutely meaningless… For example even in this interview McAuley said something along the lines of “everybody has an article...” and Joe has to make a point of saying “everybody?” Where he then has to explain himself afterwards... even the way he says “sure” when somebody is talking is so utterly pretentious
Yeah. Puns. Love that rosey o'donnell humor. Like something that would be on the back of a cereal box, or the inside of a candy wrapper. That's what really makes me delirious with laughter.
ibrofuen can literally damage all your stomach lining if you take them to often for long periods , especially if you don't eat with them ! harsh pain killers , stay clear...
@@jacobmarks8893I think he’s sick of having to defend his friend. You can tell how much he respected Michael Jackson, and now every time people ask him about Michael is always about the allegations so it’s gotta hurt for him to always be in that position.
I think MC is quite intelligent. Seems knowledgeable about whatever topic is discussed. You have to admit, his acting skills as a child were off the charts. "My Girl" gets me every time and "Home Alone" is funny no matter how many times you watch it.
Joe is a loser. Macaulay is way too smart and well spoken for this dumb show. Joe couldn't hold up to the conversation, he had nothing smart top say so he just asked a whole bunch of dumb questions. Joe sounded kind of jealous.
This was great. He seems to be extremely secure with himself, matured, funny and smart. Always good to see a success story from a child who had INSANE fame.
Most rich people are seemingly always spending their time and money making more money. This guy actually seems to enjoy his fortune and basically do whatever the fck he wants.. Pretty cool
Even in his 40's now as I'm commenting, Macaulay Culkin, he still has that youthful appearance, youthful cander, presence and energy, he still has thst charisma even now, as he did when he was a youngster
'He's a wierdo No actually he's an intelligent conversationalist, unfortunately there is some people commenting on here who have nothing between their ears, give the guy credit. He's been to a dark place and rebuilt himself. Have some respect.
When Macauley went to the bathroom, Jamie should have booby trapped the studio door with a paint can on a string. I know he'd get the swing perfect, because of his PhD in physics.
Yeah that's something I picked up on too, like when the John lovitz club name joke come up, joe just dismissed it saying that the club was called something else before he bought it. Makes me believe that Joe really tought Mac tought it was a coincidence and not joking.
@@missireason8998 yeah the way he vibes with someone dictates how he finds something funny....hence why being high isn't the best state to pick up on quick jokes. Culkins just kinda of a dorky high energy guy, the one Joe would stuff in a locker lol
He's intelligent and goofy like my 50 year old neighbor. Cool to see him laugh and smile because you know he's been through the mill. He was dealing with the Weinsteins and Epsteins before people really knew they were creeps.
People knew they were creeps, they just covered for them. I remember in the 80s reading Jackie Collin’s books. She blatantly told everyone what Hollywood was like. We (I included) accepted that as normal for Hollywood. Which is so wrong, there should have been a move to stop it! Instead it was normalized. Now if you look at what these monsters did to the actors and actresses of the golden age it’s horrendous, heartbreaking and disgusting. I’m appalled by how accepting we were.
