Macauly is a very good conversationalist. The way he handled Joe's misunderstanding in the beginning was very smooth. He didn't have the need nor the desire to correct Joe and just let it roll

@David Patrick the rat being attracted to the rat pee mcauley was saying how evolution has made the rat attracted to the pee in order for the cat to catch the rat, but Joe wasn't grasping that and mcauley just let it roll, he handled that professionally, decided to let his own argument go in order to keep the peace between them and let Joe save face. Had he argued it could have been awkward after for both and McCauley would have been percieved as an asshole for showing how stupid a person was being. Just because someone is stupid during one interaction doesn't mean they're stupid entirely, but for that person the embarrassement is a lifetime

This was a good episode. Macaulay Culkin is a child survivor of the hollywood industry and home alone is still one of my favorite childhood movies. The dude is humble and very well rounded guy. I'm glad some full episodes are still on here.
Honestly I'm not really a fan of Joe as a comedian, but I appreciate his ability to almost completely drop that persona and just be a normal, serious dude during his podcast. It's like two completely different people, and maybe outside of some potential good/funny chemistry, it usually makes for a better, more thought provoking discussion.

The greatest thing to me was his recovery from heroin. Don’t wanna get all sensitive and such but lost my brother to it, and some years after I saw Culkins famous photo of him, thin, decrepit and that made me cry senseless, in my head he was almost dead tbh. I remember being at a rehab and they passed a magazine around showing how bad Culkin looked. I didn't think he was going to make it .
The chemistry between Rogan and Culkin is fascinating. They are each wonderfully their authentic selves, very respectful towards one another, and have an equally positive vibe that is just lovely for a casual conversation.

Have only gotten into Joe Rogan podcasts lately and I have to say, it's so refreshing. It's like watching one of those open ended chats that you end up having with someone you just met on a night out.

I have to say not only are his movies holiday season classics, this man turned out to be a dope human being. Sounds like a chill, laid back, down to earth man.
I was always under the impression this dude was traumatized for life due to how in control his parents were with his life. I'm glad to see he's turned out well, he definitely seems like a pretty laid back and chill dude.

This dude is the absolute best child actor of all time from home alone to richie rich and my all time favorite movie of him the good son. This is golden and represents what is great about Joe Rogan's Podcast. I missed this one by a few years obviously. I get the feeling if past lives are real that Macaulay and Joseph used to heckle Roman soldiers together as kids, and get away with it. They get along so well and it's a pleasure to listen to men who are funny, compassionate and aware.

I like almost all mature, good natured and genuine people. That said, I think he's probably the kind of guy who if you didn't know who he was beforehand, and struck up a normal conversation with him, he'd likely entertain you. I'm guessing that meeting non-fans becomes desirable out in the real world, once stardom gets old. And wouldn't doubt that living aboard had something to do with having some restored anonymity. Glad to see he turned out to be such a humble guy after achieving his level of fame. If I ever bumped into him (especially after seeing this interview), I'd thank him for the positive influence he continues to have on my life. What a great dude!! --Not sure which of his movies are my favorite from childhood, either Richie Rich or Home Alone.
He’ll yeah I love both the first and second movie. I watched those 2 and the goonies almost every day when I was a kid. I’m 30 and I’ll still watch the 2 home alone movies, usually around Christmas. Everything about the movie is awesome. Well written and the acting is good. Glad they both were part of my childhood.

Mac was pretty funny and charming, yet also humble and not overbearing, at the same time. He knows how to politely and subtly save face, when to agree and move on, et cetera.
I hate when a guest says a funny joke and Joe takes it so seriously. "I was hoping they would go ass to mouth with the cameras" and Joe just says "Why" with no expression.
That was an awkward joke, but he kind of meant "I wish I'd ended up the situation where they'd tried to do that" and it came out a bit... wrong. Ironically it turned into the kind of awkward situation MC was daydreaming of

People knew they were creeps, they just covered for them. I remember in the 80s reading Jackie Collin’s books. She blatantly told everyone what Hollywood was like. We (I included) accepted that as normal for Hollywood. Which is so wrong, there should have been a move to stop it! Instead it was normalized. Now if you look at what these monsters did to the actors and actresses of the golden age it’s horrendous, heartbreaking and disgusting. I’m appalled by how accepting we were.
