What a strange way for a man to dress. Who gets up in the morning with the idea that THAT is appropriate. It's just in bad taste to be honest. Izzard needs to give him advice fast.
Oh I get it... you're low-key making fun of Eddie by making it seem like you're talking about Joe. And all of these "ready to be mad" people buy it! Hahaha brilliant!
looooove Stephen Fry! would love to see Hugh Laurie on as well for different reasons, but I always think of those two together because of their old show.
Eddie Izzard is probably twice the man of most men. Headline of this video didn't mention that he ran 43 marathons in 51 days in 2009 & in 2016 ran 27 marathons in 27 days. Does standup in 4 languages. Good guy, super intelligent & so funny.
@@NPCHSN Women have performed them you are correct... but he is a man so I am comparing him to most men (& women) who have not run so many consecutive marathons plus also performing stand up in 4 languages. Don't be ridiculous its obvious he is a hard worker & should be credited as such. Sorry your panties got in twist.
You dont need to interview him , just let him say whats on his mind , not selling Joe short , I just dont want to waste time listening to Steven , answering questios from Joe !
This guy does what he wants. He isn’t yelling at people demanding respect and special treatment telling them what to say or call him. He just does his thing and is totally normal. What a badass!
@@WhatsTheTakeaway so true.. eddie is a real gem that way.. but she's also just a down right decent human being, which i love. she doesn't let transgenderism define her, which i appreciate and respect.
If this is your first exposure to Eddie, please do yourself a favor and watch his special Dressed to Kill. No matter how many times I’ve seen it, it makes me cry with laughter every single time.
@@YeIsBornAgain What did Joe not push back on? Did you stop listening or not pay attention when Eddie said he agreed the athletics thing is an issue and he doesn't know what the answer is?
@@YeIsBornAgainI get what you´re saying, however I don´t think the pupose of the interview was specifically to talk about the transgender issues; Joe was interviewing the comedian, actor Eddie Izzard who happens to be transgender and also runs marathons and wants to go into politics (which I think is really an intelligent move to help address the issues of transgender people in a very efficient way). It seems to me that the fact that they had a normal conversation like two respectful human beings helps people to see that in the end we´re all deserving of respect and equal rights, even though we are and can be all unique and individual. It sets an example on how to be decent to one another, especially cause Joe is such a manly man and that reaches out to all the guys who identify with him and tells them to be cool about differences. I thought it was very smart, actually to not dwell too much on the transgender issues, cause in this case it was more about showing how easy it is to treat one another with dignity and look beyond differences. We do need more interviews that talk about the need for equal rights and that specifically focus on all the issues that are daily faced by the LGBTTQ people, of course, but this was also a great move to fight prejudice.
I've barely started the video, but where are you guys getting that Eddie Izzard is transgender? Hasn't he always been a heterosexual transvestite (a straight man who enjoys dressing in women's clothes)?
I understand his cross dressing way more than people who actually change the chemical makeup of their bodies...seems he is 100% cool with who he is and that's awesome.
The best podcast in the world is uploaded for free everyday and all people do is complain about it not being live... first world problems like a muthafucka.
When something is edited it maybe the truth but is it the " Whole Truth" just saying. Because of this new policy I have unsubscribed and have only listened to short pieces of the new show's and I am fixing to bail on this one.
T. Truth actually, it was the best only because it was live and uncut. Now we don’t know how or what’s been self censored or edited. Now it’s just manipulated nonsense.
As an American I was never given the wonderful gift of "Fry and Laurie" when it was aired, I became fans of them both organically, much later through Laurie's dramatic work and Fry's speaking/debating/activism.. I had no idea either of them were comedians (by trade, anyway) until I found "Qi" .. fucking amazing show, I watched every single episode in what must have been record time, and in the process of searching for more Stephen Fry, I found "Fry and Laurie" .. So good. so, so good. I was able to *ahem* obtain the entire catalog and it has a special place on my hard drive forever.
"Do you have a flag?" Best line from an awesome special. Eddie is amazing and it's cool to see him still working. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uEx5G-GOS1k.html
@@markbuckley6952 no sure, his mate was recently talking about how he's not as "bad" as people think just yet. If he's able, I'd love to see the Big Yin on Rogan. The end of a leg.
He fucking Hates America. He only makes movies for the money, he publicly denounces America in public in China he is sucking the Chinese governments dicks. He disowned his own son for smoking a bit of weed. He a Chinese puppet.
I love how Joe often expresses himself in a way whereby he isn't entirely sure what he's talking about, but he is trying to understand and expand his awareness.
Joe is doubtlessly very intelligent and verbose. He has a tendency to change his thoughts/mindset depending on who he has on as guest. I don't mind. It could be him keeping an open mind, for all I care, but I have no delusions that he just isn't doing it for views and to appeal to as large an audience as possible. Again, nothing to take issue with. Love listening to Joe's pod cuz of all the interesting guests he has on.
I served 22 yrs in the British military - it warms my heart that Eddie says he would like to have served. Knowing what I know now, Eddie's Transgender issues wouldn't have been a problem. As long as he could get from point A to point b carrying about 60lbs of equipment and weapon, there's no issue. Eddie is a hard transgender individual - 80 marathons.......love the show Joe. All day...👍
@Macsen Wledig Do you know anything about that play? Or did you just believe what someone else told you to believe without actually doing any research? (I suspect it may be the latter!)
I'm very sympathetic to Eddie - have been since the 90s. However, 20 years on, he seems to still really, really need our validation, which is a little odd. I hope he finds peace in politics.
Saw Eddie live 2 times in the last year. First show made me laugh, and second made me cry. We need more humans like Eddie. And yes, Stephen Fry would be great!
The strong self-confidence and being so comfortable in one's own skin is an easy parallel to make, as well as both being very witty and engaging people
Eddie Izzard comes across as such a lovely person in this interview. This is one of the episodes where the conversation flows really well - one of my favourites.
I don’t understand people who get angry or leave abusive comments cause some guy decides to wear make up and a dress. I mean if it makes the guy happy and doesn’t hurt me or anyone else, then who cares what he does?
it's really silly, isn't it? transgenderism doesn't define a person anyway. eddie is so so so much more than just transgender including kind, clever, witty, generous, determined, brave, hard working, smart, funny, and just a down right decent human being.. what more can you ask for? he's (or she, I suppose huh?) always been eccentric, odd, and wonderful... but honestly, she's just entertaining as fuck. always love watching the standup specials.
@@jillybeangaming I'm not sure izzard identifies as a woman you know. Pretty sure he's open about being a straight man who likes to dress as woman. Definitely him in this case.
@@ratharyn1834 did you watch the video? :p jump in around 8:22.. I think that's where they start discussing it. Eddie is transgender. I always thought he was just eccentric and a cross dresser, but apparently he came out as trans.. he considers himself gender fluid really.. so idk whether he prefers he or she, since he has "boy mode and girl mode." but he doesn't seem like the type to be bothered either way. none of that really matters though because Eddie is still just a genuine, eccentric comedian and all around decent human being.. trans or not.
i think the real reason is because when he goes live, he posts tooo many pod casts at once, then doesnt post for a couple days. especially when he was on vacation, he didnt post for a week or so. this way - he can rack up many videos pre-recorded and post 1 a day instead of 2 a day, so when he takes a break for a couple days he can still keep releasing videos. plus, itll be the same time every day for people to check it + hes getting more watch time on old videos because 75% of people havent seen all episodes
thats mostlikely why he took a 2 day break , then posted 2 MMA shows, then started daily podcasts again. he probably did 2 shows a day to scale up inventory, then he will be able to take more breaks & keep us happy with daily new videos
I've loved Eddie Izzard since I was a 9 years old. I'm so glad he is still such a positive comedian and I adore him. I'm also glad that the comments are mostly positive. What a nice conversation.
Me and my mate were lifting a load of weed at dublin Airport and i spotted him, i said to my mate "Theirs bloody Eddie Izzard!!" he replied "Who the hell is Eddies Izzard... haha he was polite and nice and told me to make it a quick one when i asked for a photo which came out all blurry...but heck least i met him..
You may be underestimating jocks - maybe the stereotype isnt' that accurate. I've been at Eddy Izzard concerts - packed full of jocks and every other walk of life. Almost nobody cares if you just live you life and don't "rub people's faces in it".
@@jameswhite1910 fair point, but I'd say people's open opinion on trans is still pretty gross and binary (but perhaps I spend too much time on youtube and not in comedy clubs? Eddie's demographic are educated and affluent

@@loverainodie Yeah, well, right now we're ALL wanting to see the rioters imprisoned for sedition - they truly believe that they are about to overthrow the current order and replace it with something more Marxist - BLM in particular. Sadly, this means that legitimate protests have been pre-empted by these #usefulidiots. And as you are aware, we do have a LOT of legitimate things to protest right now. I mean, if many of the protests are just cover for violent overthrow of the government, how do you know what's "war" vs "protected rights"? These people are intentionally damaging the very core precepts of a free society. Hang tough, next year maybe you'll be back out there with your school banner (or at least next year's class might be). Simple truth: when someone starts a war, we get martial law. And right now EVERYBODY is trying to overthrow the government.
Jesus Christ really?? sort the comments by newest rather than highest ranked. And... go to JR's IG account and scroll through the pic of Izzard there and read those. I couldn't sleep last night through sheer despair for my species. Every 4th or 5th comment was either "what the fuck is that?" or "not watching this." I honestly thought we were past this.
i agree, nick. Eddie is one of the most genuine, decent human beings around.. and she gives a good name to the trans community for sure. unfortunately, the trans community has been overtaken by sjw activists and whatnot, but when a real, chill trans person comes along, it's refreshing, and it definitely brings positivity to the concept in my mind.
I first saw him on a tv clip and went immediately to order his comedy dvds. I remember watching him with just pure delight 😃😍 with my kid sister in the middle of the night at my folks house in rural Missouri. My old man wondered through the den and saw Eddie all decked out in sequins and full makeup on his tv and he was speechless!
I saw Eddie Izard live when I was 16, wasn’t that into stand up comedy at the time (maybe being young your sheltered to many apart from the mainstream comedians) but Eddie opened me up to true comedy A credit to Britain and a legend of the game 🇬🇧 ❤️
Because comedy had a huge boom about 4 years ago and the scene grew at a rapid pace with people finding the burrs, rogans, Jeffries and whatnot. Bet most comedy fans now haven’t seen a Carlin routine because of many new fans there is. Never cared for eddies standup but he’s a good lad
And everyone doesnt speak english, believe it or not but there is stand up in other languages and cultures too. I doupt he's a hit in saudi arabia for example
Do you have any idea how many comedians exist... Hell I didn't even know Joe Rogan did stand up till a few years ago, yet I've been consuming stand up for decades
I am also so glad to see there are actually a lot of viewers who aren’t complete idiots. Yesterday’s bombardment on Instagram made me sick that his audience is so ignorant. This comment section gives me hope that brilliance is recognized. Hannibal should have made him a huge star!
Totally, utterly, brilliant. What did Eddie say halfway through? 'Be brave and curious, not fearful and suspicious'. I'm stealing that and spreading it around.👍
Ted Goulet I remember Joe bringing him up before. Said he ran an insane amount of marathons in a small timeframe. I can respect him for that alone. I’m a pretty athletic dude but I’m not running one mile for no purpose other just doing it let alone multiple marathons lol Gotta be tackling someone or running down a deep ball.
He does brilliant stand-up. Check out his Cake or Death sketch or the Star Wars Cafeteria. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xxX7QCll3oc.html
Heard Joe telling Santino about how mean the replies "probably" were about Eddie Izzard. I see nothing but love in the comments. Way better podcast than the Kevin hart interview
I have been in stitches listening to eddie over the years.....but I have also always been in awe of him..... seeing him for the 6th time in Dublin in November..... hes a truly great human being
That was a pleasant 3hrs, feeling charged now. Eddie Izzard left an impression of uplifting, endearing, witty, faf, humble and all round good egg. cheers
I saw Eddie on the “save womanby street” march in Cardiff a few years ago and really regret not having the courage to say hello. He’d be an asset to our parliament and the parliamentary Labour Party.
Eddie Izzard was one of the first comedians I fell in love with. Death Star Canteen and his bit in Glorious about not being able to use the printer were the best bits :) Love them very much.
I love his bit on the Irish cease fire talks. 'The nail is on the gun, if you could just sign the ......the pen is on the paper, it's not writing anything but if you just put down the gun...'
Yeah I always thought he was a transvestite and they've been around for over a hundred years... he does it unironically though so I suppose he's different in that sense.
I swear to God, probably the most interesting guest Joe’s had on. Ive always been aware of Eddie Izzard on the periphery, had no idea he was so eclectic(Jeez I don’t know how to describe him). I’m a big Graham Hancock fan, but as a PERSON, Eddie Izzard is just, like, he wins the game of life, please go on to the next level, thank you.

The slogan has history as does the reason outside of the capital voices are not raised. Not all language is spoken. Also it was the English that changed our dress; )
Eddie Izzard is a brilliant comedian. He's been cross dressing forever, but now he reminds me of Angela Lansbury. Maybe they can launch a new version of Murder He Wrote.
@@bigfan1041 I'd wager that a decent bit of of those dislikes are not as much about Eddie's comedy and personality, as they are people being uncomfortable with Eddie just being who he is. Of course people have their preferences and I'm not at all denying that, but I wouldn't even be slightly surprised to see that there were other reasons for that ratio.

This podcast is important. I just had a conversation with my 16 year old son who asked why that gay guy is dressed like a woman. I told him that hes not gay, he asked whys he dressed like a woman.
