I was listening to this magnificent podcast in my kitchen having a cup of coffee with my 84 year old mom and while I was totally mesmerized by this incredible interview my mom said please turn this up more because this is the most amazing thing have heard in my lifetime ❤ That hit me hard. I have always enjoyed every single podcast from Joe Rogan and am a huge fan but what many people may not realize is the wonderful impact his podcasts can have on a truly incredible generation of 84 (my mom) and 92 year old's (my dad). My dad worked for Lockheed Martin for 41 years. He was in Skunk works and my dad was still consulting with Lockheed after his official retirement and until his diagnosis of Alzheimer's. Both my parents absolutely enjoyed this and many more of Joe's podcasts and now they are huge fans and can't get enough of them. Every day they ask who is Joe talking to today??? Hahahahaha! I thought I was a huge fan but my parents have me beat. A huge thanks to Joe for being so incredibly talented and never giving up or giving in to the ridiculous cancel culture. Thank you Joe for bringing some much needed excitement, learning and entertainment into our home. You have no idea how much this has helped my dad as he is in late stage Alzheimer's and it really gets his brain working on a positive level.
"I ended up doing three different space walks, over the course of my career, and that big tall guy, that laughed in my face; he didn't get to do any." That's some real shit right there.
How many Billions of Dollars to find out that lifting heavier weights results in more muscles volume and bone density? Thank goodness for NASA. I would've never known that otherwise. Fuck the poor. Take away food stamps and give more to NASA for brilliant scams, err, scientific endeavors like this!
@@dakoderii4221 theres so many real scams and billions wasted (military) but youre worried about the 25 billion Nasa gets for some of the most advanced scientific inventions that are used in countless industries?
@@dakoderii4221 It works like that at the surface of the Earth, but in the space it is all inside out, back to front and upside down. And he didn't say it costed them billions to conclude that. But like with every this large organisation, whether privately or publicly funded, lots of money gets wasted on utter bollocks.
@Fuckya Lookin at how are things like astrophysics not fascinating? Even if you have studied it, it's still fascinating to hear about it... That also didn't answer the question you pretentious fuckwit and you want to imply people are dumb when you can't answer a basic question?
I used to be Garrett's neighbor. I mowed his lawn for awhile when I was 13. He was super nice. I can't believe he is on the JRE show!! He is a solid guy. When he found out I wanted to be an astronaut, he sat me down in a room and showed me plane models and talked about it with me and whatnot. He really wanted to go to Mars one day - possibly even be the first one to go there, I can't remember.... I remember liking him but being slightly intimidated by him being an astronaut, which caused me to always say dumb things around him. I remember one time he came outside and I said, "How you doin'?" He said, "Pretty good, you?" I was like, "Pretty good, you?" lol that's pretty much how all our interactions were. But he got along swimmingly with my parents and was just an easy-going regular kind of guy. Looking forward to listening to this podcast.
The thing which I like most about this podcast is garrett is telling some great insightful things about the space and joe at the other end is asking the most basic and naive things about being in space which literally everyone including me wants to know about. Great podcast.
He also doesn't have that super up tight and rigid military type personality like a lot of service members have. Hopefully he's doing good over at space x with the recent launch.
Use heat to open that jar of pickles or whatever that's determined not to turn like it's super glued on. Hot water running over the lid for a minute, an it turns easily, you can hear that pop an you're like yes! Sometimes you come across a soft drink that does the same, I just run hot water over the plastic cap, it doesn't expand, but softens, making it turn easier. Comes in handy for those with less strength in their hands as they get older. There are gadgets you can buy, but my kitchen is full of gadgets, most I don't use, so why not use a little science to do the trick. We learned these things in grade school. Even did a lot of experiments, back when teaching meant just that.
Andersson G nah cuz I’ve been just listening through earphones and I thought the same thing, didn’t even know what he looked like through more than half the podcast
This is one of the greatest podcasts from this series. I could genuinely listen to this man talk all day and how Joe reacts to him in the most genuine way… man, this one is something special.
and that feeling of utter disappointment when we read “... is a stand up comedian, actor and writer”. no substance, only narcissism, one-upping and signaling awaits (rare exceptions occur). i commiserate.
@@artrat2250 bro you're absoultely correct... I made your exact same comment on the last video with a comedian.. it was okay, but most comedians are boring as shit and only talk about themselves
Agree. But also, having people talking while you are doing something else is damaging our productivity. Our brains are not made for multitasking and we have very small short term memory, so every word in the background is damaging our capacities
I'm about 80 ish or so times in. I used to listen to it to help me get to sleep. I'm about 350 or 400 times into Neil Tyson's Rogan podcasts for sleep.
That was a phenomenal podcast thank you so very much! I know this was put out a while back but I'm just now catching up. Joe Rogan you are the man keep up the awesome work!
15:40 yep this is how I feel. Like its a great realization for people but how do you not already understand such a basic truth in life. Of course a lot of people are really cemented in the system and ego.
Travis Travinyle - I think all humans know it, at least since that image of the earth from space came out. But where we are going wrong is at the management level. We have a bunch of psychopaths ruling us, and until we sort that out, the problem is never going to go away! ☹️
@@JustinMatthewSocialMedia the point is that seeing the planet from afar shouldn't be the moment when you realize that we are all humans. You should understand that while on Earth, to make it a better place.
I've been saying this for years. The explanation for an aliens anatomy looking the way it is described, is because they either live most of their life in space with no gravity, or they're from a very small planet that has very low gravity.
Credit to Joe, he does a great interview. Never runs out of questions, never any dead air, always gets people to open up, good listening skills etc With such disparate guests too.
@@solefood7477 Yeah, same here. I wake up, see the new episode and say to myself "let's see what's up and i'll do breakfast in a minute"... after a while "fuk, why am i so hungry?". Well, because it's 2 hours later ;]
Typical jewish reply.. Makes sense now.. Even though I've seen pictures, I know it would move me.. I grew up in Southern Ontario and now I live on the West Coast and everytime I get a good view of the mountains, I always am amazed and appreciate it. Depending on the lighting, they always look different. 10K foot Coastal Peaks...
@@superoriginalname5110 I don't know about sudden but I've come to see judaism in a more and more negative light over the years. The push towards villifying white men mainly but also the leftism and sjw's jews like soros support.. I try and be open though to people and empathetic too..
Probably the fastest podcast I have ever seen. Two hours and some change. Felt like two minutes. Very interesting. Joe Rogan yet again. The man. Brings the best guests!
Totally agree, didn't know who he was before but a chilled cool dude with a lot of knowledge and experiences is someone to have on back semi regularly. I want Dr Brian Cox back on aswell as it's been too long since I last had my brain invigorated like that.

The interviews with men who did extraordinary things are always the best. Ultra swimmers, free mountain climbers, astronauts, special forces military guys. There is just something about their experiences that makes you just listen in awe for hours.
@@82vitt Men. What woman has he interviewed that has done any stuff like this? I'd be interested in listening. He's had cool women on, but none that have done stuff like this or special ops military stuff.
These actornauts always use comedy. Amazing, they "see the universe" and they talk about pooping, patches, brushing teeth, eating jello. The silliest things. NASA is Disney for boomers. The new generation grew up with CGI, we see the moron boomers and their moon landing puppetry.
I like this dude. He's who I'd cozy up to at a party and ply with questions and have an intelligent conversation all night and laugh more than you'd think you would
Love this guy and everything he has to say. He's so genuine for someone who's lead a life like his. Doesn't come across as one of those science popularizers. Please have him on again
Garrett Reisman is awesome and I was stoked when Rogan had him on the podcast. He should also have Leland D. Melvin , Chris Hadfield and Mike Massimino on as well. Leland is famous for having one of his official NASA Photos taken with him and his two rescue Dogs Jake and Scout.
When I typically think of an astronaut, I think about a geeky OCD scientist. This dude seems like your neighbor that will snow plow your driveway without you asking.
I was in the Habitat for 4 days of diving and support as a job interview . The project was joint venture between N A S A and UNCW Wilmington . Most Astronauts have to complete training in this School Bus Sized habitat called Aquarius to simulate conditions in space .
Joe is essentially the “Everyman”. We see ourselves in him. He speaks to these amazing people and he doesn’t think too highly of him self. He’s like a curious fan meeting his idol (every interviewee). The result is he’s asking the questions we would ask these people! And it seems so authentic. Whether or not he’s prepped these questions before hand I don’t know. But he clearly knows enough about each guest, and then organically makes them feel comfortable. So good!
intelligent, well lived, humorous, thought provoking, good storyteller, well versed in nerd culture and sci fi...makes a great interview cool? no... jim morrison, johnny depp, jimi hendrix, james dean, elvis , jay hernandez, sam jackson, jason momoa.. these are people who are cool.. this 5'1, long-lost hair line, mushy built, dopey faced, goof ball isn't "cool"...he's a ton of great things.. "cool" isn't one of them ...he's forging a new frontier, which is awesome... but he's a nerd , and that's great , and his experiences are cool af.... but, let's not throw around the "cool" moniker simply because he's a good interview, and intelligent yet full of likability..
Jonathan Dishongh LOL that is such an overly specific and weird rant you just made. You really seem to care about how people use the word “cool” haha. Your comment reads like my grandfather going off on a totally random tangent about something that absolutely no one cares about. People use “cool” in this context all the time in real life. Many people use it as a general term of endearment.
John Strozzi meh, i'm, native american ... can't be a racist when you're the descendant of a people that were essentially wiped off the face of the earth.. there are far less of us than any other race/ethnicity.. statistically, i'm more minority than you...
@@jnetttt I agree. This guy has so much more practical nuts-and-bolts knowledge and input than Neil Degrasse Tyson. I can't remember Neil ever talking about pooping or having a fish eating his ass. LOL
i wish this podcast featured more visual media, its amazing seeing a picture of someone in space and right next to that picture is the man in the suit, absolutely astonishing
What a space shill Joe is, thinking space is real. Ever wonder why it's dark at night? They turn the projector bulb off so they can do maintenance and let it cool down.
Wow. Wow. Garrett. Joe. Saying Thank You both is just so inadequate ... but, Thank you for doing this interview. Garret, you are a superman. Thanks, and God Bless you.
