Luke is such a relatable guy. Super talented and down to earth. I understand how he feels about feeling guilty for not feeling what you think you should feel.
Great example of metacognitive thinking in Luke reflecting on his idealized emotional experiences (what should be) relative to his actual experience. Older people acquire that ability over time, but their metacognitive expectations of what "should be" are tempered by real experiences in the world of "what is". That's one danger of cannabis is that it opens eyes and awareness in youth who don't yet have a firm foundation anchored in reality. I also appreciate Luke's advocacy for self-compassion in accepting intrusive thoughts. Don't feed them, but don't flee from them, and eventually you start to recognize "inherent sadness" or rage or whatever as just another aspect of human potential for good and evil.
1:40:53 legit this is the reason I stopped smoking. In the beginning (high school and college) it was so much fun; now it got to a point where I called an ambulance because I had a panic attack. I wonder why this happens?
Me too. I never called the ambulance but I was so addicted I would put off getting high to get actually high instead of barley high and the second I would smoke I’d say “why tf am I doing this to myself” I truly believe if you quit it’s because you needed to
I started having really bad anxiety and it would get magnified when I smoked. smoking used to help me and make me feel really good, but the first time I damn near had a panic attack after taking a dab I stood by my window and prayed for over an hour straight and haven’t smoked since. That was over a year ago
