I needed this podcast today! Battling my own demons from a list of mental health issues, letting everything get me down and struggling to get back up. So I took a day to just chill out and watch a podcast, and I'm so glad I chose this one. Everything Joe and Jimmy said about suicide is so true, I had 7 attempts to my name before I even turned 30, and I still have my moments to this day when the voices pop up in my head telling me to do something. What makes it worse is when people try to sympathise with you and how you're feeling, with things like "I know how you feel"... That's so dangerous, and the biggest lie ever because we never really know how people are feeling. ❤
Couldn't tell the vax was a hoax though could he, and riddiculed people for not taking it, I would say that was down right stupid. His popularity in Britain has plummeted and long may it last.
Jaysus!, I'm not a "Joe-nite", haven't watched a full pod in a while, but NO ONE can deny that He has a profound influence on the world, and Jimmy Carr is hand down the nastiest, also possibly the funniest Comedian in the world...why is this Podcast not a bigger deal?
It's funny because people who have never even heard of Jimmy Carr and saw him here for the first time would be absolutely shocked at his stand up. Fucking LOVE Jimmy Carr!
@@MyGirlSasha So true!, Jimmy for some reason thrives doing jokes that would have a lot of people "cancelled" , I think it's cause he is so clearly literally joking, and having a laugh...looking like a startled puppet probably helps too. :p
When Jimmy sits opposite Joe Rogan, you realize even more how educated and clever Jimmy is. As soon as he realizes that he is vastly superior in a topic, he backs off so that the host gets his space - great person!
Joe is there to listen, it's very much a professional discussion. Joe opens up a conversation and appreciates the participant extending that conversation and opening up new lines of thinking, on topic, with clarity and purpose. Great podcast, if I have taken one line out of this as a headline it would be "suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem"
I love Joe's podcast but I cannot believe Jimmy Carr is on here? Jimmy is a British legend. A national treasure pretty much. Lots of clever wordplay gags n lots of sick stuff too. So pleased Joe loves Jimmy's work. 😊
Enjoyed the show wasn't a big Jimmy Carr fan but found a new side to both Joe and Jimmy and really enjoyed hearing their thoughts on helping new stand up comics. If there is one thing we could use more of it would be laughter-it's hard to be pissed off when you're laughing your ass off.
Jimmy is smart and funny as hell!! If you watch him with hecklers….woooweeee he gets dirty and it’s hilarious! But I totally agree that you seen another side of them both. I find that with a lot of the people that come on here…some who I’m like ugh he’s not going to be fun then I’m proven wrong. I really enjoy ones like Dr Phil who lets his hair down and isn’t like the Dr Phil you normally see…he’s still himself but I feel like he’s more comfortable
the best advice I've ever gotten: If you're feeling depressed: You must get out of it because depression leads to nowhere and to nothing. There is nothing that can be accomplished within depression. And so if you find yourself depressed, figure out how to become angry. Whether it's at yourself, at God, at the world, whatever... get angry. Anger begets action and indeed, whatever that action might be, even if it's negative, it's better than the dirt-nothing that was in depression. Once you are actually -doing- anything, you are in a better state than the sorry, inaction of that depression and keep getting angry until you can string-together your way up and out of the bed, off the couch, out of the house.
that's right. mushrooms taught me this. i wasn't angry at myself, i was angry at the world. cured my chronic depression with a trip. the next step in enlightenment is realizing anger is a path divergent from love, and one of these paths begets more happiness for all than the other path. It takes life experiences to advance to the path of love, even for nuisances, annoyances, and pure evil.
Anger works. It's pulled me out of some pretty dark places, it's really saved me.. but always have an antidote for the anger, there's nothing worse than a fierce creature you can't contain, it will eat you
Jimmy is someone i believe is about as perfect a human as you can get .. he understands the human condition whilst understanding himself.. good guy is jimmy and this is a great experience I'd imagine for Joe.. yeah well done joe bringing him on..
Wow this the best i seen yet from you 2 an being part of the British Empire lol love Jimmy anyway but the convos and all the subjects really hit home for me in a lot of ways so thank you very much truly made me feel better about life and stuff to think on.
Jimmy is my absolute favorite comedian. But, it was all his serious life advice and anecdotes that were appreciated considering my current situation. Thanks for that, Jimmy!
I love How you open up Joe. And I love Jimmy's views and points. Ultimately I love you both. Joe what you do makes me love you more than anyone. Ten men. Solid. Martial arts expert. Hard as fook but into everything like me. Jimmy this is the most different I've ever seen you. But love your wisdom and comedy. This podcast is amazing. You pair should look after the world!!
Joe this man is someone called a comedian. He makes people "laugh" for a living. Have him on the show more. I know its confusing that he hasn't taken his shirt and jacket of to tell a "funny story" but trust us that this non purple faced man is funny. Ignore the fact he did NO press ups or talked about killing anything in his little chat he is a man and funny.
Have the feeling he enjoyed Jimmy so interesting, some great life lessons. Two men totally different but bought together with comedy. Both had challenges. Great guest.
i'm quite sure i heard him talk about being friends with and having a drink with Stephen hawking, the scientist.. bit random.. but it is possible it's someone else! Llol i'm quite sure it was Jimmy though 🙂
For any Americans who haven't heard of Jimmy. Although this is a very interesting podcast, his funny side doesn't shine through. I urge you to check out some of his stand up. He's an absolute legend!!
😂 2:14:41 ...Haha! Tickle a random stranger in the street, they're not going to laugh... I really enjoyed that image. It's giving me ideas for sketches that I will probably never do.
First J.R.E session I've listened through beginning to end. Such inspirational dialog. Fun subjects for discussion. I'll be honest. I had to stop for other stuff so I actually began last morning. And finished it now by lunch. Listening in increments. Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪🤘😎🤙🇸🇪
Don't give into fear but listen to it and learn a response. Remember also everyone else who has ever got into the Marines has probably felt scared too. My advice is really, really... don't start giving into your fears at your age...otherwise they will dictate the direction and shape of your life - to no good end! Speak to a good lifecoach or find someone who has been in the marines who might give you advice or mentor you in some way. Think practically of a way round any issue.
Know your true desire, to serve, to protect, to be a real hero, to get fit, to make a difference, to travel, why not become a Language teacher or Youth Organiser.. you will never have made a bigger difference..
Priests were once allowed to be married (Maronite Priests still can) but the problem was nepotism. Bishops were stacking a parish with his own kids, people were pushing their sons into positions of influence to gain control of business, etc. I think it was the First Lateran Council (1123) that forced priests to divorce their wives. Celibacy came with the Second Lateran Council (in 1139)
17:30 That is a very interesting point of view. I've never thought of it that way. As a software engineer, I and many of my peers will say they feel impostor syndrome from time to time. I will keep this in mind, thank you Jimmy
Your options: Improve yourself by watching this episode: or - Read about 25 books on philosphy, religion, global politics, history, economics, and the arts.
2:16:42 . I have never watched the filum "Cabaret" and it's almost as old as me. I always thought, "well that looks shite, not interested" but now that I hear what it's really about I think I will have to give it a butchers one day.
This is the first time Iv seen Jimmy semi serious. Turns out he far more intelligent than I gave him credit for. A little leftish in his “why not just….” But this is the first time Iv seen him as human and I’m not gunna lie I’m more impressed than I thought I was going to be
I’ve not watched a full Joe Rogan episode for a long time. Saw he had Jimmy Carr on and buckled up with a cup of tea and some biscuits to enjoy the full programme 👌
I find it interesting how anyone who's achieved any level of success believes they understand the formula for it....they have no idea how close they were to not having what they have today.....I won't go into a long story but there are people who were more passionate more creative more dedicated than them but had their dream destroyed for all sorts of reasons....for example, an unknown rival sabotaged your path....or you made a stand against an injustice which cost you your career.....it's so important to realise it's about the journey not the destination
Yeah but those who succeed do so regardless of all those problems you mentioned above. Those who get stonewalled by life’s challenges don’t succeed and usually wallow in victim stories and regret
The source of humour is straight forward: "Humour and laughter is the healthy & physiological reaction to perceived information with either a rejection or acceptance." Which in itself isn't funny nor a knob joke - but then again, describing a sneeze as a physiological reaction to pollen and other enviromental stimulus defines a tramp sneezing into a passing woman's bikini bottom whilst he sells the big issue. Just the way the mind and body works - or doesn't ocassionally.
"A tramp sneezing into a womans bikini bottom as she passes"..? Haha! Was that just an example that came into your head, or is it based on a memory of seeing that actually happen? It's a crazy image! I'll probably be imagining that several times throughout the day. 🙂 To begin with I imagined a woman walking along in her bikini and the tramp somehow sneezing on her butt! Then I realised you probably meant that he was just using an old pair of knickers (or bikini bottom, not MUCH difference, really) to wipe his nose on! Whatever anyway, I will probably be imagining the many scenarios my psyche creates just from your comment often. It's a good thought for the day, in my book, or at least a good one for starters! Thanks whoever you are. Have a good day 🌞
@@Rugmunchersauce3 I totally made it up off the top of my head. Laughter is really just a physiological, involuntary reaction to information perceived that can be healthily accepted or rejected. Same as a sneeze is a healthy acceptance or rejection to pollen, the same way the woman in a bikini turns to the tramp who sneezed into her bikini bottoms and says "Dad, stop pretending to be a tramp - and take your hayfever medicine." Again made up but it's just an example of the involuntary nature of laughter and hayfever. btw? I'm also a writer, knowing this has helped me inject humour into stories when needed. All the best. dyslexia - > if you break it down it is an issue of communication between right and left brain hemisphere. That is the issue why there is a problem of reading and writing. But it is also proven that because these people are forced to find solution to their disadvantage they often develop amazing imagination. Often very good for construction and where you need to do projections
You can see. How actuallly interested Joe is to jimmy - love you both - one of the best Joe podcasts - the topics via natural flow is such a pleasure to listen to - I loved jimmy, but now I LOVE jimmy - you fucken rock - Joe please do another jimmy pidcast -
