THIS IS WHY I HAVE A STRANGE DISLIKE FOR MERYL STREEP.. SHE DEFENDED ROMAN AND CALLED HARVEY A GOD... SHE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THE DAY AND ACTS LIKE SHE SOME KIND OF HOPE FOR WOMEN..
Rose McGowan is even worse and beyond hypocritical for calling Streep out. McGowan worked with and defended director, Victor Salva, who was imprisoned for molesting and raping a 12 year old actor from his first film and recording it. He was also charged with possession of child pornography. McGowan knew at the time she worked with Salva, and in an interview said he was a nice guy and that she'd heard about his crimes but couldn't comment on them for lack of information or the like. I don't buy her Weinstein story either. She acts like a survivor of rape when really what happened, in her own words, was the guy went down on her and she faked orgasm... Looks to me like regret and shame that she allowed that to happen, with of course legitimate anger that he thought he could do that to her in the first place. But a victim the same as a woman who is brutally raped, she is not.
Roman was friends with the girls mother. He asked the victims mother if he could do a photo shoot with her daughter for the French edition of vogue. This was likely to try and kickstart the childs career as a model. Teenagers trying to find work isin’t uncommon, especially in the modeling industry. Roman had a duty of care for a minor and he completely abused his position. He gave her drugs and alcohol and forced himself on her, despite her saying “no” multiple times. This wasnt a case of Roman was out drinking and accidentally mistook a 13 year old girl for someone older. He literally lured her in under false pretenses and sedated her because he wanted to have sex with a child. Roman is a animal who literally planned and took advantage of a minor in every way he knew possible. It's not even like he gave her regular party drugs. He sedated her for his benefit, so he could have a easier time raping her. Why else would Roman be carrying a commonly known date rape drug in someone else's house for a photo shoot with a child. Also the fact that only she was drugged and he didint take any (why would he)points towards how is only intention was to take advantage of a child. The whole case was completely predatory in nature and he got away with it.
@@lepetitchat123 and even if she did she did that for herself. not him because she knew nothing would happen to him and she has to live with what he had done and the only way was to forgive him...
Blanca Miranda The only people who will do things like pedophilia to stay in Hollywood are people who would eventually do it anyways. Hollywood is just a safe haven for them. That’s all just my opinion of course.
With all due respect, Joe, you don't know what it's like in France. All intellectuals, actors and politicians are supporting him. NOBODY is shaming him over there; they are all banding together to defend him, because they belong to the same class. Everything else you said is valid, but I am telling you, in France Polanski is living a very happy, guilt-free life.
Leah Hart Those who did are second-class actors, or belong to the newer generation like Adele Haenel. The real deal, the elite, are all his supporters.
Iggy C. In France, it's considered acceptable to drink alcohol starting at 12 years old. Sexual majority is at 16 however, although pedophilia is rampant among the elite
Scarlett Johansson is a perfect example of this. She came out and shit all over James Franco who was accused of basically being a jerk, but nothing was proven. She jumped right on that band wagon, but worked with Woody Allen about 100 times, and has defended his due process. Attention!! These people all want attention.
Agreed many boycotted harrison ford, Meryl Streep, Quentin Tarantino, tom hanks( who's a ped) , Spielberg etc for defending this monster. I would never watch a Tarantino film past or present after he said it's ok to rape a 13 yr old if she's a party girl. He basically said he's also a pedophile on Howard stern.
@@Nandoswitharando Just rem in bibical times and many countries you were destroyed if you messed with a child or supported a child molestor. When you say folks that support these type of dudes should be still supported. I suggest you put your own loved one and how you would behaved if they were raped at 13 and a group of your friends said man its okay she was a wild one.. God and Christ is going to destroy those that support any of that behavior and most who support Roman Polanski are pedophiles themselves.
I remember Meryl Streep coming out in support of #Metoo....I also remember Meryl Streep leading a standing ovation for convicted child sodomizer Roman Polanski.

Not even the girl herself complained. She herself said it was consensual, although illegal by the state. This is just hypocrisy from an America that finds young sex of teenagers discovering themselves beautiful, but complains if the same teenager has it with someone they don't agree with. Only two people can consent to this relationship; the man and the woman. Only a few people can oppose such a relationship; their own families.
Roman Polanski is a great director. I will never take that away from him, but he is still a shit person and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law
You mean after it's proven in a court of law right? Because despite what the SJWs Feminists and BLM members claim, our law is still innocent until proven guilty.
GENERAL T-BONE He isnt in Yank Slob land to be prosecuted to the full extent of Yank Slob Law & Yank Slob Law has tried & failed to have him extradited from various other non Yank Slob political jurisdiction's so I guess theres no other option but to go drop some more nuclear bombs on human beings n stimulate yer Yank Slob domestic economy by starting yet another war in some 3rd world country coz Yank Slobism isnt just the most respected disposable culture on earth it is also the greatest disposable nation on earth, right ?
What the fuck are you talking about? He already admitted to guilt and he should be extradited back to the United States and be punished for the crime he admitted to doing. What's wrong with that?
Which makes you come to the conclusion that Meryl Streep gave some good ass and could suck the paint off a fire hydrant. That's a talented actress! Whereas Cindy Crawford was 10 times as attractive as any actress I can think of, possesses an IQ over 160, and wouldn't give up her ass for movie roles. Therefore a very, very poor actress...
@@frankdrebin1023 She gave up her ass to be on certain photoshoots. What do you think all these models are doing on yachts all the time..fucking old dudes
Interesting to see the outrage to Will. Look at how Polanski still made movies for Hollywood, received an Oscar, still has oodles of Celebrities supporting him.
@E.A. de Ruiter No, she was in fact 13 years old. Her mother (Susan Gailey) was also an actress and personally knew Roman so he knew Samantha Geimer was 13 at the time. He even took a picture of her on that day and she does not look 18-20 at all! She looked 15 max. I think her mother should have also been held accountable and he should have been in prison ages ago!
Especially being actors and directors how do they even pretend not to know? When regular jack offs like us with only a cursory knowledge of films know about this. How do you not know if you’ve supposidly studied movies?
well, there might be a connection between the former and latter. Its kind of crazy that they didnt talk about this in the podcast since thats pretty much the main reason why people are keen on defending him
the ratings fell 19% in 1 yr man. streaming services have an impact in overall tv viewing but not w a 19% drop in 1 yr man. that drop is people sick of virtue signalling
Aren't the ratings for the NFL also going down for the same reason? People watch sports and film to escape the problems of every day life, they don't watch sports and film to be reminded of them.
@@PronounceGaming Thanks for saying that, all I want to do is watch my favorite sports and forget about all these issues. Last thing we need is it shoved in our face when we are trying to mentally unwind from it. It's over exposure that leads to animosity towards the cause.
Melancholic Spook Directed by Luc Besson, who is accused by 9 women of rape or sexual harassement*. He lost his company and a ton of money, so karma can be real folks.
He's not even that great to me. I didn't even like Chinatown or Bitter Moon but the Pianist was good. He probally just did that movie to try and redeem himself.
Polanski admitted it and (if I remember correctly) was trying to negotiate a plea based on his admission. It did not stop Hollywood from idealizing him. It's sick, and it's one of the reasons they are not taken seriously.
Worse than that. He got a plea deal where they dropped the five charges brought against him and let him plea to one lesser charge with the prosecutor recommending he only have probation. In the probation report submitted to the court making the case on why they were recommending probation they excused what he did because of his creative genius, being an immigrant with different morals, and said the victim had shown she was mature and willing to engage in the behavior. Once he plead guilty the judge ordered he report to a state prison to undergo a 90 day psychiatrical evaluation prior to sentencing him. But they ordered a stay on that to allow him to return to Europe to finish his work on a movie he was working on. And while he was in Europe he was photographed at Oktoberfest with multiple young women drinking beer which resulted in him being ordered to return to the US to immediately undergo the psychiatric evaluation. And when he underwent the evaluation he only was there for 42 of the 90 days. And the judge after reviewing the report had issues with it because it didn’t adequately address the case itself and claimed that he didn’t know his actions were criminal and informed the attorneys that he wasn’t going to follow the proposed sentencing. Once Polanski learned he was going to be sent to prison is when he fled. So yeah he definitely admitted to doing it and only fled when his sweetheart deal that everybody working on the case besides the judge were making every argument about him doing nothing wrong to get him probation fell through. In his autobiography he discusses the incident and claims that she never responded negatively to what he was doing. He’s never apologized for what he did or owned up to it being wrong to be with a 13 year old instead claiming consent and she liked it. And yet they all applaud him anyways.
Maybe even more so: a much BETTER REASON that the BBC (Billionaire Boys Club) of "major" media can't be taken seriously.... You ever notice how they turned the OJ saga, and Polanski's too, into global circus events, like, forever? Trying and sentencing them in and thru the court of public opinion? We really didn't need to hear about either for just DECADES, without any end date. Hmmm. But there they were. And are. Prisoners of the Press. Both had young beautiful wives, both murdered with very similar weapons. Buck knives? Both under cover of Darkness. Both within a stone's throw of UCLA, and its notorious LSD research, etc etc Hmm. Guess I'm not all that conspiratorial-mindrd and everything, but I do ever-so-slowly become a total obedient if inept coincidence "theorist." Anybody got a clean brown shirt, mine's a bit spotty?
Dammit! "The names on the petition include Natalie Portman, Tilda Swinton, Isabelle Huppert, Penelope Cruz, Diane von Furstenberg, Wes Anderson, Darren Aronofsky, Martin Scorsese, Monica Bellucci, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Harmony Korine, Ethan Cohen, David Lynch, and Harrison Ford. (Also, Woody Allen, but who's surprised there?)” WTF Hollywood?!
"its also believed that Indiana Jones's past was also based on Roman Polanski." Lmao how the fuck does that have anything to do with Ford? That's the writers not him.
He still signed the petition, and blaming it all on Steven Spielberg and George Lucas isn't really helping anyones case. Also the line in the movie was him saying "you knew what you were doing". The response to that was regarding his sleeping with a 15 year old. So he still said it.
When they talked about extraditing him to the US, I was shocked at how many people took the attitude that he doesn't deserve punishment because he's a great artist. It was about a 50/50 split on any public forum between those who thought he should serve his time and those who were prepared to drop the matter. Here we are a few years later and following 'me too', and suddenly almost nobody advocates for him. I've always said the man's a criminal who deserves punishment. It goes to show how hypocritical the 'public' is that half of them did a 180 based solely on PC pressure.
Shoot Me Reviews no different than a terrorist being called a protester. Since when can you set fire to government buildings get arrested with explosives and lets not forget its for blm yet multiple black men who are patriotic have either been beat up shot or followed home and threatened. Wait what? Yet the Democratic Party is defending all of this. It’s beyond pc culture, we are watching a nervous desperate political party who’d rather burn this country to the ground than admit defeat in 2020. Honestly it doesn’t matter anymore because nothing can be more transparent than it is now. We the people choose now. If it fits the narrative the globalist want they will defend it. Btw there aren’t many countries left who aren’t going through the same exact thing the United States is. It’s all relative.
Oh ffs! You can read all the details of Polanskis offending online, he knew she was a child. He’s done this numerous times. He’s a remorseless predator.
The Polanski rape happened at Nicholson's house while he AND Anjelica Houston were there!!! I've always found their "non-involvememt" to be questionable and sketchy.
@@rxtp17 I’ve seen that. Though her cases are interesting and disturbing, I honestly think her claims about it David Bowie are just bullshit. When considering the timeline of events. But whatever. We will never know
Damn joe really is clueless sometimes. In 2014 42 million ppl watched the oscars. In 2018 it was 26 million ppl. Thats a significant drop in ratings. Roughly 40%.
What was nominated in 2014? The ratings historically go up if there’s a really popular movie in contention for awards, like the year Titanic was up for awards.
Moon man...I agree with you. As a matter of fact what really ticks me off is the left wing horseshoe argument that because of all the other options (streaming, dvd, Hulu, whatever) that the drop in numbers has nothing to do with loss of popularity. Give it a rest. People are sit and tired of it. I used to love the Oscars and now its a whole different thing. Just talking to people, you generally hear the same thing...'I don't watch that crap anymore, it sucks". Disappointed with Joe on that point.
Rogan has hopelessly converted to protecting Hollywood, the US govt., and other powers that be. I learned about Rogan years ago and he always questioned authority. Now he shills for the government. I stopped watching for Rogan and now only watch if I want to see his guest.
As it says in the Wiki article on him Polanski "maintained a flat in London". I met a teenage girl who claimed that Polasnki employed her as a procurer for under-age girls who attended parties there. This was prior to when he fled America. Her name was Ophelia ... so maybe he'll remember her?
chris bullis no these guys have it wrong. he went to jail under a plea, and the judge reneged on the deal so when he got out he fled. I think he served his time already this is a closed issue. this Polanski nonsense is really supreme virtual signalling by uninformed. . even more than woody Allen
Aaron Daebak no part of his plea deal he went to a 45 day evaluation in a California prison( in California for serious offenses or repeat offenders judges will sometimes send defendants to state prison before sentencing where they will be evaluated by prison staff and they’ll make a recommendation on whether to give probation or prison, or something like that)
I'm glad that it's becoming more known how Hollywood really is and how morally bankrupt the people working in it really are. Honestly I don't think those people will ever face consequences but knowing that more people are starting to pick up on it at least means even the small percentage who stop paying to see their movies/TV shows/merchandise is hurting them, albeit not very much, but it's all we can really hope for with how rich and influential those pricks are
Joe its not a weird comcept even if you were young at the time and didnt have any kids. the moment it crossed your mind, Its your instinct and morals as a human being telling you that it was wrong, wrong on so many levels.
He pled guilty and had a plea bargain agreed to with the DA's office; however, the judge would not sign off on the plea agreement (which is the judge's right, when they believe the deal proposed does not serve justice) and Roman fled to France because he had dual citizenship. In France having sex with the girl was not a crime to the same degree as here, so they would not deport him in order to save a french citizen cruel and unusual punishment. He pled guilty to giving a minor child under the age of 14 alcohol (champagne) & narcotics, and sex with a minor child under the age of 14 (I am uncertain about sodomy). When he fled the country he became a fugitive which is the reason he can not come back. He will go directly to sentencing then prison. He paid off the mom of the child and the child. Whoopi Goldberg came to his defense on The View. I have hated her since.
"i forget some of you are 15" But you can barely interpret a sentence correctly. If you order movies online, it makes it an online video rental service you fucking idiot.
I knew very little of Roman Polanski's case. I knew that he pleaded guilty and ran. I knew about the petition, but I didn't understand other circumstances. Never watched his movies because of it. I have no clue on why they signed the petition, but I thought there was a better excuse than "she was DOWN with it". I also heard Wes Anderson said a similar statement, which is even more disturbing since he worked with kids before. Also avoided Woody Allen and Bryan Singer too, despite them being accusations. However, if you look though the magnifying glass you see more disgusting shit like Marc Collins Rector and Jeffery Epstein. Have no clue what to make of Michael Jackson.
SimplyMasonZero THE TRUE STORY .... Roman Polanski made the classic movie ROSEMARY'S BABY where he exposed the Hollywood oligarchs Satanic ways. For that they murdered his pregnant ex-playboy pinup wife Sharon Tate and her guests- known as the Manson satanic murders. If that wasn't punishment enough they had (FREEMASON) Jack Nicholson set him up in a honey trap with a mature looking 14yr old girl who later in remorse admitted to lying about being raped. She was a cabal child sex slave. The true story is intriguing involving JFK brother Robert Kennedy. Sharon Tate was part of his political team as well as John Lennon who later was killed in the same exact street location as mentioned in the movie - "here died a Satanist" The words in blood on the walls were HELTA SKELTA which happen to be the name of Jonh Lennon album at the time. These are the same swamp rats that murdered JFK that Trump is now fighting. Roman Polanski is in fact a hero who is victimised still today 50yrs later ... by the mainstream news WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU? All the stories on Polanski are false propaganda. They keep this story alive as a warning to the movie industry of what can happen to them for crossing the line and keep to their "Eyes wide Shut" Those that defend Polanski such as the French movie industry and older actors know the real story. You guys unknowingly are spreading the propaganda. POLANSKI IS A HERO! PLEASE GIVE HIM THE RESPECT HE DESERVES!
Concerning crazy day and nights you should check out Jamie Dlux‘s channel if you haven‘t already. He has lots of videos breaking the posts down and solving them
Not only was he able to continue making movies following the crime his movies have won six Oscar’s and two golden globes following the crime. But even more gross is if you look back to when he won an Oscar for directing the pianist back in 2002 or so. He wins the Oscar the crowd cheers loudly and it develops into a bit of a standing ovation for it. Hollywood is a cesspool when it comes to anything near morality. Hollywood cares when it benefits them to care but if they don’t have to care or if they face detriment to care they never do. But they’ll all band together to condemn when it’s convenient for them to do so. Weinstein was an expose of how the industry as a whole can know about these things happening but everyone will ignore it if it’s risky to their career or if they can benefit from ignoring it but will just as quickly claim ignorance and anger once it comes out. All things we all knew but just confirmed it and showed just how openly slimy they are.
@@Matt-cr4vv Maybe that's because many of them see through the political facade, and the insincerity. They find much of it concocted. I have seen too many once solid facts shown up later as contrived, like OJ's glove.
11:05 - I asked James Woods how come he's not doing movies anymore, and that he's still a big name and could get cast for tons of stuff. And he told me that he really just didn't feel like doing it anymore. He didn't really seem to give a reason as to why but he seemed content with moving on and perhaps retiring.
Myles Deeupe: Your victim shaming is a horrific thing. I was sexually abused & I counsel & support other victims for a living, I don't think I've ever seen such a heartless & thoughtless comment, (of this kind), before. Everyone reacts differently to abuse of this nature & just because you didn't react that way, does not give you the right to shame others who have.
@Del Boy I have read it & reread it, & so have a couple of my workmates, we agree that the way it's worded, & especially with the exclamation mark at the end, that the commenter is passing unfair judgment on other abuse survivors with their derision. I understand you don't agree, but we are both allowed to have an opinion. Your perception of what the comment was meant to convey may be coloured by your sympathy or empathy for the commenter, (or not, or in part), My reaction stems from imagining another abuse survivor reading this comment & feeling like they're being shamed. Yes, I was very angry when I wrote my first reply to them, & yes, I realise that I'm judging them with my replies. But unless they reply with something that shows I'm mistaken, I'm not going to apologise them.
The Oscars used to be something I really looked forward to every year up until 2016. Then it became unbelievably political and stopped caring about their actual mission, which is to celebrate great achievements in filmmaking. People who love movies, like myself, like to watch the Oscars.
Lets not forget at those Hollywood hills parties, Nicholson and DeNiro were frequent flyers too. In fact DeNiro felt so guilty about Polanski taking the fall, he sent him money overseas for years.
There is something hinky about Asia Argento. I'd never even heard of her until the metoo movement, then I heard she was dating Anthony Bourdain. Next thing you know, Bourdain is dead under, what appears to me, suspicious circumstances, and she's going back and deleting a bunch of tweets. Something doesn't smell right.
She had an actual “boy toy” an underaged teen she was exploiting. The story was gearing up to explode, since the boy had come forward. It is thought Anthony’s suicide was due to the emotional trauma he experienced after learning the details.
I didn't see it either. Joe was doing the same shit he always does. Plays the Devil's advocate. He doesnt know the full story so he asked questions. I dont see the problem and mean while you have John abbot down there acting like the liberal hollywood is blackmaling him LOL
I hate the way they treat this story so casually and constantly hedge their disgust with "he's a great artist." It's disgusting and he needs to be punished for it.
He voluntarily served 45 days when twenty other perps without a fraction of his clout got parole, the norm then. The "girl" (now 60!) has pointed that out many times. Then they tried to sucker punch him bigtime and send him away for possibly fifty years, or an early grave in prison. Like his wife Sharon Tate was real early. Capice? See the dots magically connect? 😂 😆 The whole tale is so duplicitous in "their" trying to frame him further, and that is seconded on this thread by so, so many, all those here busily "trolling for dollars"! 😂 But the most important thing is that Polanski's case is different because it has the "fingerprints of intelligence" absolutely all over it, from tip to toe.
"What happened with Polanski was never a big deal to me," Samantha reported. "I didn't even know it was illegal, that someone could be arrested for it. I was fine, I'm still fine. The fact that they made this a big deal weighs heavily on me. Having to constantly repeat that it wasn't a big deal, it's a horrible burden." Geimer said the judge "didn't care what happened" to her or Polanski but "was orchestrating some little show." Americans are strange guys. Literally cut a dick of a 13 old boy, but you no can make consent sex. The girl desire a deal, that is the truth. Stop idolising whatever women make a victim role
Hollywood is in decline mostly because television has become so much better nowadays. And I agree. With a television show you can tell a much longer story that is in depth in ways a movie or movie franchise could never do. And Joe, Netflix was prominent long before 2013. And some other streaming sites.
I'm so confused about how Roman Polanski still gets to make films and win awards, despite being a fugitive for his crimes, (which I don't want to mention because it makes me sick). It doesn't add up. How can the academy awards allow him to win an Oscar despite knowing full well of what he's done, yet then blacklist other people who've done similar things. Doesn't make any sense; he should be blacklisted just like them yet he's gotten a pass somehow.
Polanski's daughter is allowed to make her career off her dad's name when her dad's career should have ended half a century ago. Should make ppl's blood boil.
I'm not making excuses or in any way defending Polanski. But you can't tell me his experience surviving the Holocaust as a child on his own (while both his parents were killed), and having his wife and unborn child brutally murdered by the Manson family didn't have a hand in fucking the guy up. Again, no excuses... but sometimes monsters are made by their life experience.
Personally I think Hollywood’s obsession with Charles Manson over the past few years (Aquarius, Haunting Of Sharron Tate, Wolves At The Door, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood etc) is just manipulation to make people sympathetic to Polanski.
