This bald fat guy is an idiot. He doesst realize that how difficult it is too make an electric vehicle at a large scale from scratch no one else is doing it. Tesla is the first to do it. It will take time u dummy u need the hype to succeed.
Well, to an extent he did end up being right. The truck did eventually come out in that polygon shape, sure, but the delivery specs were nowhere close to the promised specs. 100 ft^3 of bed space? Nope. 3,500 lb payload? Nope. 14,000 lb tow capacity? Nope. 500 mile range (without impeding on bed space)? Nope. 6 seats? Nope. “But the 0-60 went down my 0.3 seconds” Sure… like anyone can tell the difference between 2.6 and 2.9.
@@TSERJIpeople forget that the video is 4 years old, it was recorded in 2020. Roadster is not on the road and we don't know when it will. Cybertruck went through changes to be homologated and it won't probably be outside USA. Most of what he said happened
The turret is an optional extra. For me it was a toss between the turret and the camping gear. I'm just going to count on ramming speed to deal with any alien invasion and cook Joe Rogans elk out in the forest glamping with my Cybertruck. And then I woke up and realised I couldn't afford any of it. Goddamit.
@@yurifaria9083 that’s actually not true. He was the head engineer for a long time, and leads ALL product design for his Tesla. Look into all the stuff he learned to build rockets. It’s pretty interesting
@Tiego Diphokwana well I’m glad you’re viewing things objectively. Need more people like you. Yes obviously it’s not Elon in his basement building and designing every car they sell, but he’s definitely involved in the big stages of development. And yes the guy in the video is just a nay sayer who seams stuck in the old internal combustion ways that are slowly on the way out
Andy Bailey you’re trippin man. if we are talking production cost and efficiency, we definitely didn’t take any L. the base model is no more than $40k ... do you understand how good of a deal that is? with all of its capabilities and features? Also- the cyber truck is trending like a mf, you do realize how much exposure and free advertising they are getting right?

thats the big problem. in the car world if you unveil a production car you should have it on the road in a year. elon wants 3+. his competitors have already risen the bar. he risen to become the richest man in the world off of the hype of a product that doesn't even exist.

Almost, the point on presale was spot on. People should stop paying for reservations 1-3 years in advance. Like the dude said, its a lone with 0 interest.
Jo will never own the cybertruck because it will never be made. And the funny thing is tesla really will make a truck but it wont be this one. It will be completely different.
If you're even somewhat "in-the-know" about how the auto industry works, you'll understand what Matt is saying. He may be wrong in the end, but what he is talking about is statistically accurate. The fact that Tesla's truck is made from stainless steel and shaped like a metal-worker's paper weight does not bode well for crash safety. And unlike (most) modern ICE powered vehicles, when you crush large lithium batteries, your car basically turns into a primed brick of C4. I genuinely don't think their actual production CyberTruck will look anything like the "prototype". And some of the aspects that make a pickup, a pickup, are simply ignored in their prototype.
@@litgamer6205 It's been clearly indicated to anyone who received the self-driving beta that the driver must be ready to take over at all times. They never pretended the software was ready.
Elon is building rockets with boosters that can land themselves on platforms and shooting his teslas into space. Why is it so crazy to think he could make an electric truck?
TheOriginalGayman why the fuck did you click on a video called “joe rogan’s thoughts on the cybertruck” if you didn’t want to hear his thoughts on the cybertruck
why? this 'random guy' is a car journalist he has a huge amount of insight into the industry why in the fuck would you want to hear joes opinion on this? what makes you think he would have something more interesting to say than someone who has essentially dedicated there life to cars.
@@cross_over_central2323 He probably wanted to hear Joe Rogan's thoughts because the title of the video is "Joe Rogan's Thoughts on Tesla's Cybertruck"....
It makes no difference. The electric is going to win the tug of war no matter what. There is no ford truck that can win that except maybe their electric one.
There’s a new video out ,F-150 vs Tesla, and they use the model x against a 600hp raptor on level ground. 4 x 4 also. The Tesla dragged that truck also.

@Josh L For every successful business, there has been thousands of failed ones. And that money isn't refundable. That's what is interesting about reading self-help books from successful people. They always say "take risks" and "no risk, no reward". But you are only hearing it from the victors. For every Elon Musk, there are millions whose lives were destroyed by insurmountable debt who would have a different opinion on risk. Not sure where I was going with this.
Josh L what are you talking about? When the model 3 was available to pre order, there was 200,000 pre orders done in 1 day with a deposit of $1,000. Was that a scam or do you see Tesla Model 3’s on the road everywhere now a days?
Or, every single investment that ever happened, ever. Buying anything is an investment of sorts and there are plenty of things I've spent way more than $100 on that turned out to be total junk. Hell, that's the whole business Amazon is running is selling us pure garbage we don't need. And considering that Tesla has ACTUALLY delivered on many of his wild claims (the whole robotaxi nonsense notwithstanding) I'd say he has a pretty damn good track record. And if he doesn't? Who cares? It's refundable. Which completely nullifies his whole "scam" argument.
I have yet to see any Tesla on the road. That probably has mostly to do with the fact that where I live there are probably two people who can afford them though.

@37 pirate they sold it at the advertised price for a limited time. But they did sell it. Leonardo Domonik likewise, buddy. You haven’t shown any invalid points. Where’s the million self driving taxis? Where’s the self driving? Where’s all this shit Tesla has promised. Do they make cool cars? yeah. Did they change the game with the Model S and 3? Yeah. But this cyber truck thing is just a hype machine. $100 refundable pre order and a cult following of Tesla boot lickers of course there’s going to be a shit ton of orders. Like Matt Farah said, Elon is getting public funding for something that doesn’t even exist yet. I’d suggest you watch Doug Demuro’s videos on the cybertruck and TFL’s vidéo on why towing with an EV is really impractical.

Don't take our word for it (and there are plenty of comments here explaining why, btw). Have you heard of Sandy Munro? He's much more of an expert on the auto industry than this 'expert' journalist.
