Alister Dante ABSOLUTELY :D he's always loved the sound of his own voice. I'm a fan though ;) and Billy is intelligent with a nice calm voice and demeanor, so no harm no foul? LOL
He's great!! I loved the Smashing Pumpkins growing up. Everlasting glaze from the Machina album was thee very 1st time I heard Smashing Pumpkins. I didn't buy it, but was lucky enough to borrow it from the library. His wrestling company, NWA, is one of thee best unexpected things to ever happen to me. It's sooooo f'n fantastic!! I absolutely had no idea whatsoever of how great it would be until I watched it last night. I discovered it last night & became a wrestling fan again after I stopped back in 2007 when Chris Benoit died (he was one of my favorite wrestlers as a kid & still is). Corgan knows quality. Love that dude man!!
He interrupts and talks over Joe constantly. I like him and it's not about Joe but Jesus. Obviously knows he's famous and always has the upper hand. Ruins it.
Wrong Billy! I'm a huge fan or your music and I love that you're involved in pro wrestling. Some of us love you for all of your passions! And I know I'm not the only one. You rock Billy!
I sat right next to Billy Corgan at Wrestlemania 23 in Detroit. I had no clue who he was until they showed us on the big screen saying smashing pumpkins front man. Then after the reaction from the crowd I knew I wasn't alone.
actually not too surprising. Smashing Pumpkins were one of the biggest bands in America in the '90s but they broke up in 2000 and rock changed a lot in the following decade. It was all nu-metal, post-grunge, punk pop or emo rock. When Billy reformed SP in 2007, it was hard for them to get any kind of traction with their new material.
I wish Joe wasn't so cynical about pro-wrestling. Would love to see some guys on his show. He's the kind of guy who thinks that because it's acted it's not worth your time. Pro-wrestling is super fun, it's just that.
Joe said it on another podcast. His problem isn't that is fake, it's that it looks fake. He gave an example of watching a fight scene in a movie. If he sees a move/submission applied incorrectly, it ruins it for him.
He Was an Amazing Addition to It ... Hope the Deal Between AEW & NWA and Impact & AEW All Turns into an "Open Door" Policy Between All 4 and Others (MLW, AAA, New Japan/All Japan, WWC/IWA/La Liga, Etc.)
As a wrestling fan and pumpkins fan I'm really interested where this goes. Billy can and already has brought a lot of exposure to the NWA. Make a deal with ROH and get on TV. Sign cm punk
Was this all the pro wrestling talk from his appearance on JRE? I don't really wanna listen to the entire podcast I just wanna hear about the pro wrestling stuff.
I've realized that a lot of famous people either don't understand what humbling means, or react in a really weird way to praise and success. I always think it's weird when somebody wins an Oscar or something like that and then says in their speech how humbling that is. I would understand if loosing humbles them, but when you win a major award you should feel like being the king of the world.
Artists Aliens i dont even understand the word or speak english, but i think its is in this case that you are saying, like they are over overwelmed, "cant believe it is possible that they have won" or so, no?
such an interesting interview, almost prefer it in these short clips honestly, the information retains better... curse this ADHD! lmao technology right?
I agree with Joe here I don't recall the men roller derby but the women's definitely had more television coverage. See how I meant about Rogan being aware of Killa Kowlaski even tho both guys with Boston roots Rogan obviously and Killa was the days of Bruno Sammartino etc then he watched until Wrestlemania 1-3 ish
I'm from Little Rock Arkansas and back in maybe 1999 the Smashing Pumpkins played a local venue and someone in the crowd through a Birkenstock and hit Corgan in the head with it and he vowed to never play in Arkansas again and didn't return for 15 years he just recently came back a few years ago. A FREAKING BIRKENSTOCK!! lol
That's weird that he said that because I've never saw Billy Corgan as a "goth, vampire" type. Or Smashing Pumpkins music as "goth, vampire" type of music for that matter. Not at all.
Joe “I actually don’t give a fuck about pro wrestling and call pro wrestlers pussy because ufc is that real fight shit but I just want to have a nice conversation with a famous musician “ Rogan.
Billy "I had Smashed a Guitar on Lou E. Dangerously (Sign Guy Dudley)'s head in ECW" Corgan, because of a feud with Justin Credible (?) (with the "King of Old School" Steve Corino); Lou. E. Dangerously = Lou D'Angeli
I wonder if today Dixie doesn't wish she'd work things out with Billy....even if it meant surrendering a large percentage of the company to his control. Point being that longtime Canadian partner and distributor via FIGHTNetwork, Anthem Media Group, who already owned a minority stake in TNA Entertainment LLC thanks to bankrolling a number of the final Carter Era TV tapings and possibly Slammiversary in 2016, would end up paying the settlement in Corgan's suit and thereby gaining 95% controlling interest in the company while Dixie Carter retained a measly 5% ownership stake. In fact I believe they've since acquired that 5% share and own the company outright these days. It hasn't always paid to be a fan of TNA/IMPACT but I've followed the promotion since the 1st weekly ppv and have been beyond thrilled with the majority of Anthems decisions. Bringing Scott D'Amore back along with Don Callis to run the company was genius and though Callis is no longer part of management, Jimmy Jacobs and Tommy Dreamer...seemingly his replacements, have done a marvelous job. Dixie might be responsible for LOL TNA and she may be fairly criticized for much of what she did, including the handling of Billy Corgan, she also helped to keep the company afloat in 2002 and running for nearly 15 years and for that she deserves a good deal of recognition as well.
