A lot of times when you see a second fiddle interviewee on this show the second person is there for moral support / to help carry some of the weight (having a 3 hour long conversation on a platform like this is daunting) that I think is exactly the case here.
She’s mad introverted, so pat Barry dominating the conversation allows her to feel comfortable and chip in. That’s probably their dynamic at all times hehe

If you follow her career you know why. And on top of being her fiancé he's also her coach, so there's insight there on what goes on inside her camps.
I honestly think she would tell him to let her talk more during interviews if she was annoyed at him. It actually seems the three of them are having fun, like during a normal conversation with friends. In just 7 minutes it's difficult to tell if he will capitalize the entire interview. Even if he does, if she feels comfortable with him talking more than her, that's what it is. He seems excited and, since he is both her trainer and fiance, he is probably super proud and excited. Who doesn't have a special someone who brags about your own achievements or tell your own stories as if it was theirs?
You also have to remember when they started dating, she was like 15/16 years old and he was nearly 30. Yes, it's creepy and it's almost like he is a father figure to her, which is probably why he answers for her when questions are asked directly to her. That said, the are both grown adults now and to each their own.
I agree she seems kinda shy and I can relate it's much easier for someone else to tell the story and you only have to chime in to confirm things telling story's can be hard for some people

I met Pat and Rose at the Brookdale Dodge dealership many years ago. It was shortly after one of his fights, his right hand was in a cast. He was blown away that someone recognized him.
Met them at a 24 hr fitness in arvada, co. I walked up to rose and was like "Hey you're thug rose" and they were so nice. And Riotmaker I am sure Pat Berry could knock you out within 10 seconds.

I was taught in a self-defense class that if you think someone is going to attack you, that you need to hit first and you need to ask a crazy question right before you throw the punch. Like, someone is shouting at you and you ask "why does purple love peanut juice," and then punch. The idea is that they'll stop and ask themselves why you're asking that question and that momentary distraction will be enough to give you time to land that first hit decisively. It doesn't work if you just say something crazy, it has to be a question. I think that's what Joanna was doing with Rose.

Joanna was crying after the fight as well... just shows how much pent up anxiety, pain and inner struggle she has with herself... let alone trying to put it on her opponents. I love that Rose even said in her post fight interview that the trash talk goes against what martial arts is even about. It's about respect. Girl has got it going on... she's in the flow, unstoppable when you got that type of mental strength and clarity. It allows you to conserve energy and focus.

I think she meant that rose didn't deserve to be fighting her and by asking her if she bought the ticket she was telling rose that she was only there to spectate.
