Before starting his journey at SHN, Joeffrey Torres was a Cath Lab nurse in the Philippines. He then moved to Canada and started working in a factory, grocery store, and the airport, as he navigated the steps required to pursue a career in healthcare as a newcomer.
Although he started studying to be a Patient Support Worker, Joeffrey decided to take the nursing license exam, not knowing if his experience back home in Manila would be credited. After passing the exam and applying to every GTA hospital, SHN reached out to him, and the rest is history.
