I got to hand it you Max. That is the most logical analysis and argument anyone has put forward. Your statement about Ben ‘s individual numbers reflecting elite level (points, rebounds and assists) when Joel was out but why the team might not be as lethal is spot on. Taking an all star out of the team puts a hole in any team. This is why I say, Sixers have an elite level player you can trade to get an elite level player that strictly complements Ben. Milwaukee does not have such a player to get an absolute super star to complement Giannis. Lakers have done this with AD complementing LeBron. AD is the prototype for a modern big. The style of play Sixers should be playing is the Milwaukee style but with another super star that completes that style. Milwaukee will always struggle to win a championship because they don’t have that other clear cut superstar. Middleton is not that. Frustrates me no end to see that Sixers failing to realise what kind of an asset that they have in Ben Simmons who will be a better version of Giannis in his prime. Back to the basket style of basketball pivoted around an old school style Center will not win a championship in the modern game. Guys like Shaq is still preaching this but he was the last to win a title with this style of play. May I ask when was this?

Build around Simmons, he's younger, more durable, can playmake at a high level, can defend at a high level and has the potential to be 5x better than Embiid. I would trade Embiid for Beal, Booker, Lavine, and all those high level scorers'/shooters to surround Simmons with. Simmons would average the same numbers LeBron is putting up right now IMO except the points, Ben would probably average 20 8 and 11 a game. Simmons w/ a consistent middy or 3 point shot, he could average 25+, Simmons has the potential to be a top 5 player possibly top 2 in the league.

That excuses about Embiid being injury is getting old , y'all just have to admit that he's one of the most overrated player in the league , has he been injured since he cried like a baby in the playoffs cause since that day he hasn't been the same

For those who aren't getting Max's about Simmons and using his "Greek Freak" point(a secondary point) to dismiss it are the very fans he's talking about as far as letting the numbers without context like team structure because of lack of basketball IQ. He's not "Giannis." Their games are actually different but a team structured "perfectly" around Ben's talent would win a lot of games. They wouldn't win a championship though and it would be the same if only Embiid was on the Sixers without Simmons. They need each other and they both have to be willing to sacrifice whatever to make their games better. For those who talk about Ben's lack of work ethic because lack of a jump shot. When a player with an inferior jump shot comes into the league, they don't just become a great jump shooter. Basketball heads know that a quality jumpshot is built inside out. Mastering the restricted/rim area then the foul line. If a player is consistent at the foul line THEN AND ONLY THEN a player's range can be extended wrt a jump shot. Truth is, Giannis isn't a "great" or even good jump shooter. His foul shooting is still sub par but....he has more of scorer's mentality over Ben. Ben has a facilitator's mentality. That's the major difference between them two. That's why he's more likely to defer his game to players like Embiid and Tobias for example to make sure "they eat." Giannis is a very willing passer for a player with a scorer's mentality but he doesn't have a facilitator's mindset as Ben does. That said, in the last 15 games, Ben is shooting 70% at the free throw line. That's still not "great" or even good in the NBA but it's improvement especially from someone who isn't a shooter like that. You can't bash a player's work ethic who plays as minutes as Ben does(He's 5th in NBA in minutes per game and 3rd in total minutes). His work ethic makes this happens. The Sixers rely on him to be everything that he is. It's a shame casual fans can't see that.

Honestly I’m sick of Embiid. As a sixer fan, Simmons is better than him. Simmons is so consistent yet Embiid is injured every other game and often when he is healthy he’s shooting 5 from 20 from the field. Yes he can have some big games but Ben is way better. Get some shooters around Ben and focus the offence around him.

Ben shooting will eventually come around the way it did for Magic and Jason Kid. Ben defense is no doubt first team All NBA which he improved this off season. He is also tighten his handle and cutting down on his turnovers. Something nobody is talking about, Ben Free throwing shooting has improved to 70 percent during the past 15 games. This is important because Ben is now attacking the basket and getting to the free throw line on a larger clip so his point total will also go up. Ben is a smart cat, he knows the mid-range jumper is the last step that will take him and his team to the top. Once this happens, it's a wrap. People need to remember this is Ben third Season playing. He is only 23 years and already lead Philly to the playoffs two consecutive years when Philly was a basically a non playoff doormat for close to 10 years before his arrival to Philly. Ben is also a two time all star, and rookie of the year winner. I love Joel, but he is holding the team back with his lack of fitness and inability to stay healthy year in year out. Depending on what happens playoff time, if Philly fails to make at least the conference championship it wouldn't surprise me if Joel is traded and the keys to the house is handed over to Ben.

I hope eventually the Sixers will realize they ahould trade Embiid for Booker or Beal or someone like that. I agree with Max on this one.

He is a very good passer with great bball IQ, can defend 1-5 with his size and quick feed, very good rebounder(6 10 on par with most center), very deadly on fastbreak with great handling. Basicly you have Lebron James Clone Without jumpshot. And he still 23 years old. Just give him sharpshooter and stretch 4.

2 different players in their own way...best in their own position imo. Just like there was no dispute in who was greater between Kobe and Shaq while they played together. What they both share in common, I think, is that they are both foreign players, whom often were questioned about their lack of will to win / dominate. But given how young both of em still are (25/22), I think the future is still brighter in sixers.

Keep Simmons, trade Embiid. Ben has proven that he plays well without Embiid. And Embiid has proven that he’s always hurt, sick, or just not feeling it. Find a big, athletic interior defender who will protect the rim and then surround Ben with elite shooters/defenders. Those are what the best teams come down to: shooting and defending. Gone are the days of the classic big man.

A trade in the offseason that could help both the warrors and Sixers. Trade Embidd for Clay Thompson. Embidd would flourish with Curry and the Pick/roll. Ben would flourish with Clay shooting and tight defense. There were whispers about this trade a year ago.

i think the problem is that when jimmy and jj left their, shooting left, and they bought tobias and so far he has been awful. embiid and ben have been having some problems because of this lack of 3pt shooting and they dont wanna blame tobias because he is prob a really good guy and prob close to both. The real problem is tobias tho, man cant make a 3 for his life. I hope we keep these 2 guys together because they're beasts together just gotta switch up the team someway
