I have a way of going to an eight team playoff without adding any extra games. Here's how it works: 1. Eliminate conference championship games 2. In place of the conference championship games, have the top eight teams play each other with these stipulations a. Every power 5 conference must have at least one representative b. No conference can have more than two representatives c. When a conference has two representatives, those teams must play each other d. No team may have home field advantage e. There is no selection committee. The rankings are based on computer analysis using schedule, wins, and losses Here's how this year's playoffs would have looked. (I'm using the score100 computer ranking system) #7 Penn State vs #1 Wisconsin in Indianapolis #8 Miami vs #3 Clemson in Charlotte, NC #6 Alabama vs #4 Georgia In New Orleans (moved from the Georgia Dome) #5 Southern Cal vs #2 Oklahoma in Arlington, Texas It would be a great tournament, every conference would have a chance, and it fits in beautifully with the current 4-team system.

It's Alabama that's why. Do you honestly think Wisconsin or Ohio State is a better team than them? The committe factors eye test into selection so the rankings aren't necessarily based on who has the most wins. If this was bcs Wisconsin would be #1 Bama probably #2

The majority of coaches in the SEC are fired.. which mean that the majority of teams (aside from auburn, Alabama, and Georgia) is plain GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!! A sunbelt team could beat an SEC.. smh sad. How to fix the college football playoff - 8 teams 1. ACC, Big 10, Big 12, SEC, and Pac 12 champions all get in seeded 1-5 based on record and performance because as a conference champion in the power 5 you should get in. 2. The best team of the lesser 5 conferences gets in as the 8th seed. This satisfies people clamoring for teams like UCF or Boise State. 3. The 6th and 7th seeds are teams voted on by the CFP committee.

I'm a bama fan through and through but I can't really argue against us not going. The one team we needed to beat to get in the playoffs was Auburn and we didn't that simple. We were like Wisconsin except we got more of a reputation and in fairness they played better consistently. Do we have the best team I think it is debatable, but AL's OC is holding them back. We gotta unleash our backs against teams. We the coaches have and some fans have to come to the realization that Hurts is not the hero you thought he was. I found that out last year. He can't pass well under pressure. Tua is in my opinion a better fit for the pro style offense. Lets take this loss under the chin and schedule harder teams next year. We will be back. We need to play better teams to show that we are dominant ROLL TIDE.

Oklahoma is a glass cannon. #57 defense. TCU will be a close game. I don't think they can stack up to anyone else in the conversation though. Yes, they have the #1 offense, but they've basically only got half a team.

How is an Ohio state team that lost two games, one very badly better than an Alabama team that has one close loss to a top 4 team? Makes no sense. Ohio state doesn’t deserve to go regardless

When all is said and done you take the the top 8 teams, look at wins and losses, use common sense and overall the eye test. Pick the 4 most consistent teams. Consider match ups, LSU beat Auburn, Troy beat LSU, Alabama beat LSU, then Auburn beat Alabama. Because Troy beat LSU on that particular day. Does not mean Troy would ever beat Auburn even though LSU did. I dont think so. The Bottom line is that Ohio State gave up 55 points Iowa! Could Ohio State beat anyone on any given day? Of course they could, but overall eye test tells me the 4 best teams this year would be Clemson, Oklahoma, Auburn, and Alabama.

It's hard to say that a 2 loss Ohio State team would get in over a 2 loss Oklahoma team in that scenario when A) Oklahoma beat them straight up at Ohio St, and B) Neither of Oklahoma's losses were as bad as the Iowa loss. I'm a gigantic Ohio St fan, but man that loss was crippling. Honestly if Ohio St gets left out, I understand it, simply because of that loss.

Craig Simpson from what I’ve heard it needs to stay at 4. Think about how much trouble they are having deciding four. If you bumped it up to 8. EVERY team in the top 25 would try to throw their resume in the ring. It would be beyond ridiculous to try to decide eight spots. Like right now you can say just have eight then you can include AL, OSU, and WIS. Ok that’s 5, give me 6,7,8.

0neChubbyBunny i just feel that if it was 8 teams, the chances of missing a potential championship team are drastically lower (in my opinion) than with 4 teams. Just my opinion tho. It would also lengthen the season which you could argue the pros and cons of that as well.

Stanford or USC (Pac-12 champion), UCF (AAC champion), Fl Atlantic (Conf USA champion). If you start giving the other conferences a chance, you draw more talent to those conferences. You can argue that a 4 team playoff that only considers 5 conferences lower the talent pool of the other 2 or 3 decent conferences.

Wisconsin vs okla in championship will be fun. Other teams should learn from Alabama, plan their regular season with weak/mediocre teams so you're 11-0 and pray you don't play a legit team or bribe the committee like them.

The College Football Playoff committee is VERY inconsistent. Last year they chose Ohio State over Penn State even though they didn't even win their conference. But this year Alabama won't win their conference but they're going to put Ohio State in the playoff if they beat Wisconsin.

Georgia doesn't deserve to get in if they beat a beaten up Auburn team. They were outclassed in the first game and are just to slow on defense. They showed that a team like Oklahoma or Clemson would pick them apart in a playoff game. It'd be a waste of a spot imo. And how does Alabama and Georgia not play? That game has to happen in situations like this. I think the NCAA needs to revise the CFP scheme.

I like Klatt but throw out resume and conference championships for a second.... allowing Iowa to score 55 points is a conversation ender in my books. I thought UM losing by a field goal @ Iowa was bad the year before but losing by 30+ and allowing that many points kills any argument in my books.. If ohio state wins alabama deserves to go. Miami would have deserved the spot had they not lost to pitt but (assuming they lose to clemson) thats worse than ohio states loss to iowa. Wisconsin at one loss would have a couple of okay wins but i am only slightly more impressed by bamas wins. Highly doubt bama wins their first playoff game anyways.

If a team (cavs, bama)or player (Lebron) is successful or seen as the best, shannon sharp is instantly a die hard fan of them. That is why he annoys me. Like honestly bro stop acting like your apart of those teams.
