I'm 44 years old and became aware of Penn State football at about the age of 9. Joe, thank you so so much for being my childhood hero and my hero through my adulthood. I will have nothing but the fondest memories for as long as I live. We can all look back on that fantastic '87 Fiesta Bowl win and take from it the lesson of what happens when a blowhard who talks the talk comes up against a true legend who walks the walk!!
A model human? A great coach, but a model human? How do you figure? He’s a fucking coward. He fucking covered up and enabled Jerry’s kid-fucking for ten years! Fuck him. Fuck you, too, ya fucking slob. Read something.
When people treat another human being like a god they are bound to be disappointed and this is what happened. Unfortunately many of the people from Penn St. just refuse to accept the reality.
Wake the fuck up. Do you know who actually fired Paterno? Hint, He's a new trustee, he's very powerful in PA government and he had a chance to prosecute Sandusky but did nothing.
There are no winners here. I understand how you feel. But he knew something was going on before the 2001 incident. He knew that Sandusky still had full privileges at the facilities after the 2001 incident. Penn State wouldn't have fired him let alone remove his statue if there was not a glaring example of looking the other way for a long period of time.
He not only reported once, but he followed up on it and asked them what they are doing about the Sandusky allegations!!! Macquery said in the civil case after Joe already passed away, that Joe did follow up on it again, and the three scumbags Spanier, Curly, and Shultz told Joe don't worry about it, we have went through the process of filing charges!!! Joe died of a broken heart, because he truly trusted his superiors to do the right thing, and obviously we see how that turned out!!!
