unfortunately there’s not enough content of joey, there are only a few interviews out there which is SICK but anyways. jaskier, the witcher, joey batey, netflix.
The books are amazing for people that imagine the writings when they read, once you start imagining these sort of books are unbeatable IMO. I did the same with Sherlock stories and I AM LEGEND. I also read non fiction to shake things up, for the longest time I absolutely loved journalistic non fiction books about different things and then one day I picked up I AM LEGEND and got the bug.
@@asurmenhandofasuryan4610 I agree, the games got me back into gaming after a decade+ hiatus and made me realise they are works of art, much like good films and books. And quite honestly it is actually pretty sad that they clearly haven`t all done both, even as a requirement, and to the point that they are clearly being mocked for it. Great actors and actress's completely immerse themselves in the world in which they will inhabit and portray to ridiculous degrees. Imagine if the LOTR stars hadn't read the books, how cookie cutter it might have been? I would make it an absolute priority personally. Original comment was posted because I found it to be funny, but he's absolutely bang on and clearly calling them out, no matter playfully he might be dealing that card.
@@Trancedd In fairness, sometimes actors for certain characters are told not to read the books, or not to read past a certain point so that they don't know too much about what is happening to their character when they act. But still, read the books.
its funny that this doesnt seems to be a problem. tell your employer "sorry I didn't read everything the client wrote" and look what happen. i mean shes an actress who earns a shitload of money from it.
I adore his portrayal. I only ever knew Dandelion from the last game and while I liked him well enough he was never really a character I understood at all or cared enough about to look into further. The Netflix show's Jaskier is the perfect mix of a man who really, really cares and a self centered classical bard. Joey's line about how Jaskier just falls in love with whoever he is engaging with rather than going full on fuckboy was such an important part of that.
thats why i like show jaskier introduction better then book dandelion because in the show he actually has a drive in the challenge to cure the witchers reputation and in the book he's just there. its just geralts friend who travels with him
Charlie Catashrophe I read an article that he might have a mustache and is going to wear the red hat he wears in the game to show he aged in the past years.
Him, Henry and Freya are carrying it. Yennefer isn't bad, the rest is horrible. But just the Whoresome Prison blues scene saves the whole season 2. Edit: apologies, the others Witchers, especially Wesemir are great too. I was mostly thinking of Triss and Fringilla.
@Nigger Joe Because sweat sticks to hair and makes someone smells. No, hair doesn't determine how manly someone is no matter how much you tout that about
anya: happy she got it right joey: im still winning its even better that its in the context of the actress who plays yennefer with the actor that plays jaskier
"I can play lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of instruments... VERY badly..." I relate to this a bit to much honestly... I play about 15 instruments but I only properly know how to play 2 lmao (trumpet and lute)
Jaskier is the og name, Dandelion is a pretty one but it's a mistranslation- also Jaskier in the show and Dandelion in the games are two,,,, very different characters, thankfully
The character IS Jaskier in the books, the closest English translation of which is “Buttercup.” His name was changed to Dandelion for the games. Read the books.
I keep following this show, but here's the thing about jaskier/dandelion; his songs suck. Especially in this show because the actor they chose sucks at singing, and the writers are even worse at writing. It's cringe. Sometimes not even remotely good. It's a crazy fictional concept with huge possibilities, but for some reason they pulled a "Walking Dead" and decided its a soap opera instead of a show where a dude kills actual monsters. Supernatural did the same thing, but at least the end of each episode was kinda satisfying.
huh. I loved Joeys singing and his band, and I agree with the show being bad but I thought some of the songs was great, and the actor's portrayal of him was quite likeable. I blame the writers for not giving Jaskier enough attention in the story. Also the actor helped write those songs. If you want, you can listen to Her Sweet Kiss, I think some of the songs, especially Toss a Coin, was cringe but theres some gems thrown about.
Can someone clue me in on what happened with his accent? In these clips he has a very standard, almost RP accent but in newer interviews it's a lot more ?Irish or Welsh?
When people put themselves into a role with their all they tend to "lose" their original accent. Charlie Hunnam and Gary Oldman both lost their original accents and spoke with a mixture of American and British accents. Gary had to relearn his own accent and Charlie's is still fucked.
