I'm Chilean and never heard of him. But not all media coming from PR, Miami or even Mexico was available here, specially during the Pinochet era. Only El Chavo😅
The mayor of 🇵🇷 even held a press conference on National News begging the US for help. The problem was she did it at one of the many warehouses storing supplies US had pre-emptively sent before the storm actually hit supplies ships were at sea waiting for the hurricane to pass. Anyway she stands there crying for help and in the background you clearly see pallets of shit stacked to the ceiling....it ALL sat there locked away and spoiled.
True. Trump last month passed the Hispanic prosperity initiative act and the house just passed American Latino museum. Trump was right PR govt corrupt and they cry about everything....victim, victim. Dont want to help themselves.
I remember my cousin getting the sh*t slapped outta him because he started yelling and running around when my aunt’s horoscope was read (this was before DVR) 😂 she was mad as hell she didn’t hear her horoscope
My Latina wife's family is super into that shit. Weird how rational they are, up until the point of horoscopes and salt crystals and palm readings and shit, when they all become super gullible
Not true. It's a Puerto Rico thing. It's a USA thing. Latin American kids don't know Walter, orTito Trinidad, or Tito Puente, or Ricky Ricardo, or Sami Sosa, or any of J Lo husbands.
Man! He put so much flair and passion into every horoscope reading, it was like his life was on the line for it. My mom would front, say that she doesn't believe his readings but would always end up watching his segments out of spite. That's how charismatic Walter Mercado was.
As a Hispanic growing up watching Telemundo and Sabado Gigante, everything Joey is saying is absolutely TRUE. When Walter would come on EVERYONE got quiet and just listened. Much mucho Amor!!!
my momma is a CNA in Miami. COVID brought the fucking sharks. there's blood in the water, and they're making BANK edit: i'm talking about the companies set up to take care of the infected
Corruption is what made Katrina as bad as it was. We knew those levies weren't enough to stop a decent hurricane from flooding . Louisiana is a wealthy state but we're crippled by our corruption.
@@thomasmitchell4128 You can say that again, most crooked state in the fucking union. I mean we elected a governor, saw he was corrupt, kicked him out, realized even though he was skimming, things were getting done and everyone was making money and got him back in, decided we didn't like the corruption and kicked him out again, good ole Edwin Edwards. I'd vote for him today if he was able to run again. Better than all the shady sheisters stealing our money to line their own pockets while leaving us high and dry.
Cant blame the Governor when the mayors were the ones stealing from their cities. The supplies arrived into the cities and the most corrupt of all carmen yulin cruz kept it all locked away and blamed Trump.
@@eleven8948 Except you CAN blame the governor because there is literally 900 pages of celphone text clearly talking about their plans to "Take the public for suckers" in his words.
The man commanded the attention of an entire spanish speaking people for 5, not even 10 minutes, to give you astrological guidance....and dazzle you with capes.
@@drake8168 sabado gigante, primer impacto, walter mercado and novelas. Shit, i'm getting nostalgic remembering crap that used to annoy tf out of me as a child, lol
Walter didn't just give horoscopes. Even if you didn't believe in the stuff he was saying a lot of the other encouraging and cool stuff he said was enough to brighten your day. I remember how happy some of my family would get when watching him even if they didn't care much about horoscopes. That documentary was a blast from the past for me even though I was born and grew up close to end of his career.
Apolo Zamparelli cus its a lib power territory, like how they hide relief goods to people and blame trump for not helping. Called trump racist cus he said puerto rico is corrupt which is factually true. Hahahahaha
I remember stories bout some high-level PR politician stashing the relief supplies in warehouses and leaving some cases of water just wasting away on runways. And an interview with her and some of that water even visible in the background.
All these balls of gas know is what their media overlords tell them. They have no clue about Goya’s support and charity to the USA through all administrations.
@@legacyrant5826 Exactly, I'm Puerto Rican and people in the mainland should stop listening to the lies the msm feeds them. I fully support our President and the Goya company.
Uncle Joey isn’t lying. I’m in the Bay Area and travel all the way south once a month SPECIFICALLY to bring back hundreds of dollars of Porto’s pastries and food.
They just simply donated to his campaign and also donated 1 million pounds of food to shelters. Trump has been lowering taxes for businesses... that saves millions. Why wouldnt you support lowering of taxes when the opposition wants to raise them.
@@bOOSTEDjOSH Large corporations and their owners make their money by exploiting the productive labour of their underpaid workforce. Taxing these corporations goes a little way to relieve the working population who suffer economically as a result of this exploitation. For many people it's either rent yourself to these corporations for low-pay or don't pay your rent this month. So don't come back with that BS that everyone has a choice. Be exploited or be homeless isn't a fair choice lol. Cutting taxes for companies that are already making huge profits is irresponsible, politicians that do it are prioritising corporate greed over public wellbeing. Stop reading propaganda & disinformation aimed at getting you to vote against your own interests
@@bOOSTEDjOSH You clearly don't pay taxes. Trump and crew are paying nothing while many of us are paying more to offset that loss in federal revenue. It's gotta come from somewhere
@@jewetts You are wrong, i pay plenty taxes. My home taxes haven't dropped but the taxes on my check did 2 years ago thanks to our president. If he cam create another tax break it will just be more money back in our hands.
Trucks filled with food(produce)sat there totally untouched and just spoiled.Female mayor or governor whatever straight up embezzled $ set for hurricane relief. Blamed Trump but corrupt leaders stole money.Quite a few arrests made by FBI because US territory and taxpayer's money sent to help Puerto Ricans hurricane relief.
It's so crazy how most Latinos have the same experience, we have been told to stfu during a Walter Mercado segment 🤣 Edit: For the Grammar Nazi's SMH.....
Spanish people have probably never even heard of Walter Mercado... I think you meant Latino/Hispanics (from Latin America / U.S.). Spanish people are from Spain.
Oh my god ! People dont understand! This was so bad when mom got home from work one day and told me to shut up one last time cause of this fucking guy. I HATED HIM WITH A PASSION. But now I look back and understand he gave hope to a lot of our people when all seemed hopeless. We suffered so much as a family of illegal immigrants in the 80s. Now my parents are very old, dont even remember Walter but I was grateful that even though I didnt believe his schtick, he gave hope and love to many of our beloved family members.
Raised by my strict Pentecostal grandma in PR as a kid, and I had to sneak away and watch Walter Mercado because she would yell at me and call him the devil!
It's really sad that just saying something nice about somebody causes people to lose their minds. I remember when Biden said Pence was a nice guy. He caught heat for it and had to apologize. Ridiculous
@James G imagine being so lacking in self-awareness so as to make this comment. George w Bush started an illegal war and is arguably a war criminal. By all accounts he's a really nice guy. Steve carell has been bailing out violent Marxist rioters from jail. By all accounts, he's a really nice guy. just because someone believes in stupid things does not mean they aren't a decent or nice person. Just because you disagree with somebody, even if you are objectively correct in disagreeing, does not mean that they are an evil person. you are part of the problem, thanks for working to help Trump's re-election campaign.
I’m Puerto Rican. All the Puerto Ricans I know aren’t mad at trump. We know the corruption that goes on. The power grid was barely functionable before the hurricane.
@TheHajinator maybe try reading the news once in awhile before you try commenting on it. The commenter above me is correct, Puerto Rico did receive more than enough aid, it was the Puerto Rican government own mismanagement and corruption that led to it not getting to the people.
Yeah he gets all excited starts yelling as though he has a great story then once he calms down. "He does horoscope Joe Rogan " " HE DOES HOROSCOPES JOE ROGAN !!#! Joe, huh? YES JOE ROGAN HOROSCOPES AND CAPES !! .....Fcken Joey
Uncle Joey is something else. He is always spot on, with his hilarious and credible input. It’s a gift to able to talk about Portos, political controversies, the backstory on celebrity drama, etc! Lol
I like how Joey acknowledges that there is corruption after disaster that hurts recovery and still insist that it was trump's fault with hurricane relief. Smh pathetic. Of course he knows what the truth is but the hate is more important if you havent notice.
@@Atribecalledsuccess you can look it up yourself if you don't believe me. Trump sent the aid and corrupt puerto Rican officials locked it away in warehouses to hold sway over the people in distress. It's a really gross thing to do to people, let alone your own constituents. I wouldn't laugh about it if I were you, a lot of people died as a result of this scheme. Use your brain here. What reason would trump possibly have to NOT send any aid to puerto Rico? You think he just hates all Hispanic people? While this was happening we watched the situation and said "just wait, they'll find a way to blame this on trump even though he did his part." And here we are
@@Atribecalledsuccess I'm from Puerto Rico, and it's TRUE. Trump sent aid, and the puerto rican Government was corrupt and lying. They were also allowing unions to chanrge insane amounts of money just to drive trucks with food and supplies to affected areas. They basically held supplies hostage until they got their money and the government turned a blind eye because of politics. The politicians have been corrupt for YEARS. That why my father packed us all up and left almost 20 years ago.
