I worked with Ray Heatherton on his radio show which aired on WBAU radio (Adelphi University's radio station) in the early 80's. Never got to meet Joey, but did meet and do a couple of radio interviews with Dick Heatherton. Talented family.

I was 24 when I saw her with Tony Bennett film a special at Queens Beach in Honolulu in 1974. They were filming for several days in a cabana that I frequented when I would beach bum the Seattle winter away. My claim to fame is standing within 30' of Joey and Tony, although I was paying more attention to Joey. And all these years later she's still Foxy. RIP Tony.

My first introduction to her was on the mid season replacement show in the 70s "Joey and Dad" and saw her bigger than life performance! Always made a point of watching whatever she did since - and of course what you can now see here on RU-vid!
My first huge crush. Her wonferful father would entertain the children of employees of LILCO on long island, (where Joey and I are from), at a yearly Christmas party. As far as Im concerned she is the most beautiful girl Ive ever seen. At 62 Im still in love with her.❤❤
I love Joey. Always have. I just wish she do more interviews. If she done more Broadway plays, She would have been great as Lola in Damn Yankees. If I could meet Joey in person, I would love to get her on a dance floor.
When the interviewer got to television credits he kept rattling off names of variety show appearances. In fact Joey guest starred on great TV dramas of the '60s like "I Spy," "The Virginian" and "Route 66." THOSE are fodder for stories we should have heard somewhere in this eleven minutes. What could be eliminated are the first several minutes. Can you imagine how tired Joey is of doing "how I got started"? As fans, those listening already have an idea of her background, so to get into some FRESH anecdotes about her diverse credits would be a superb and greatly appreciated alternative.
I just disvovered Joey! I have watched some of her videos and yes , she was great. What I noticed here was that half of the interview was about her father ! And how great her father was. Any future or current project?

@@michaelbarnhart2593 my comment wasn't toxic, sweetie, the questioner asked why the camera wasn't placed up the nose of a then 60 year old - it's coz she was doing a radio show, she wasn't ready for her close up and surely stipulated that. As for my looks, one thing's for sure: I don't have a horse face like yours! 🤣 gravity hasn't been kind to you, gramps! not kind at all
"markmurcell1700," I thought the same thing at first. And then remembered 'stars of a certain age' consent to doing interviews ONLY if they have input in camera placement. For radio, this was fine. But, of course, Joey's fans wanna see her face. Her tight sweater and accompanying movement gave her bosomy figure a good reveal the few times she made a point of showing it.
