If they conditions are right I am sure Mojo can get very close to the OQT. Such a hard working guy who lives his dream. And seems to be very nice too. Simon Boch also will rock the half marathon for sure.

Super excited to finally get to check out the video after seeing the workout on Strava last week! Interesting to see that there was quite a bit of stretching and work with the bands on top of the usual dynamic drills. Do you know if the choice of 160 over the 320 drink mix is just personal preference or was it a decision based on conditions?
@johannesmotschmann6760
@johannesmotschmann6760 Год назад
Thank you Oskar! It’s just personal preference! I like the 160 best but plenty of other runners prefer the 320

The difference in technique, lean angle is remarkable

I really want to work on my own technique and form, but I don't know how to find improvements by myself. I feel like some days I'm a lot smoother and relaxed and some days my legs feel like bricks at the same pace.
@gengar678
@gengar678 Год назад
@@shawnmand5607 I am a certified trainer and we do quite a bit of training with focus on this on the track but in the end its really hard to really change a gate in adult runners, not even starting the discussion whether or not you should want this. In the end the best runner ( non pro) is the one that enjoys the most and doesnt get injured, regardless if he runs like Kipchoge or a buffalo with 3 legs. enjoy!
@shawnmand5607
@shawnmand5607 Год назад
@@gengar678 I am definitely a beginner (M25), started running consistently about a year ago and just ran a 48:00 10k. My very lofty goal is to one day run a sub-3 hour marathon. I really just want to feel like I can maintain a smooth stride throughout my runs. When looking at pros, I feel like they look pretty similar, but some of them look like they're going slower, at a lower cadence, at the same pace. I feel like Cheptegei and Kiplimo are great examples of that. It just looks like it takes them less steps to cover the same distance as the people they're running next to. But I definitely agree with your philosophy, do what works for you and enjoy. I wish I could work with someone to try to make some adjustments to my gait, make me aware of what I should focus on.
@steventownley3342
@steventownley3342 Год назад
@@shawnmand5607 the fact you spell gait correctly is a good start to improving it I feel just running abit more and try get a few strides after an easy run oh and hill strides might felt form Good luck with the sub target
@gengar678
@gengar678 Год назад
@@shawnmand5607 maintaining a smooth ride is going to depend on your strength and endurance. I would not look too much at those pros really...and when you run 22kmh it will look kind of good to lol. just try to stay healthy while maybe slowly expanding volume/ stress where it might be an idea to always focus on SPM towards higher end of spectrum (unless specific strength workout , hills etc) and adapt a light midfoot strike.

isn`t a big advantage of rich european athletes that comes from carbon shoes? european athletes can afford to change their carbon shoes very often, which the africans can't do. And then the carbon effect is gone

Message to Kenyans who help this foreigner want to train with you. This is the hourly rate in America for personal trainer they charge me in America 40 to 50 per hour trust me it is very expensive. I don't know how much they pay you don't be fool charge them with the same amount 50 per hour.

I don’t think you can compare a personal trainer to 4 runners training together on an equal level and supporting each other throughout the workout. Of course it has to be done respectfully as it is in their homecountry (but also if it would be anywhere else) but maybe don’t assume things based on your biases and video, where they handle everything as a team.

Hi Thomas, I get your concerns but Steven and Tony actually decided themselves that they want to join us for this workout, we each took turns for every rep and worked together the whole way, so we all benefitted from having each other.
@sweatelite
@sweatelite Год назад
Hey Thomas, the average cost of living in Iten, Kenya is around about USD$70-80/month therefore this pay rate doesn't make a lot of sense. When you travel to somewhere with a lower cost of living (USA vs eastern Europe.. roughly 80% cheaper for example), do you pay the same price as in the USA for meals?
@gengar678
@gengar678 Год назад
much respect that you even react...i got a solution though, make cost of living in US 60 dollar per month, people will run with you for a few bucks. I have a friend he sometimes runs for free with me!! next time he will probably charge 50 though.
