Saw this in the theaters in 1980. 3X as scary on the big screen. Became so awestruck by the locations the next year I drove to Concord, CA to visit a friend of mine. We drove out on a day trip across the bay and up the coast to Point Reyes and Inverness going to the different locations including the lighthouse. Unforgettable!

Thanks so much for reading that prop! Watched the fog as a kid twenty years ago and always have wondered in later viewings what the real prop said. It’s a real treasure to hear 1st person perspective on a bit of production history and sounds hilarious as well.

At 8:41 the Michael Myers mask overs Mr. Clarks right shoulder looks like he has a handlebar mustache. It looks awesome and would have completely changed the dynamic of the Halloween movies. The rug really ties the room together. Absolutely epic that you get to own this and thank you for sharing it.

The fog 1980 is my second favorite horror movie behind John carpenters 1978 Halloween Sean I really appreciate you sharing this with all of us and taking the time to read this I always want to know where the journal wise and it’s great to see that it is in good hands with someone who can truly appreciate this very underrated movie
I absolutely love John Carpenter. As millions of other do. But The Fog…The Fog is special to me. So is Halloween 1978. But the fog is so special to me. During the late 80s and early 90s my dad and my grandmother always would put this movie on for me. I always wanted ‘the goonies and the fog’ to put on. And I still do it to this day. The movie the fog is my absolute favorite of all time. I can guarantee you there isn’t anyone on earth like me. I actually watch it every morning as I get ready, I listen to it on my AirPods my I work. I know every single scene of the movie by heart. For some reason it makes me feel better. I can’t explain it. Especially more so now since I just had cancer and lost my mother all in the same month. Anyways this is so awesome you have all this stuff. I can’t believe it. I could never find ANYTHING pro wise for the movie. If you ever (which is doesn’t look like lol) get rid of The Fog movie props I will buy it for whatever price. Thanks brother! Keep doing what you’re doing!

'The Fog' (the original) has become a more legendary movie in the 21st century amongst 80s horror fans. John Carpenter produced a film which most of us late-boomers saw as 'relatable' even in southern Ontario Canada for teenagers back-in-the-day. I saw this bad boy at a drive-in I worked at. To have or own some of the relics from the actual motion picture is like having a 'Grail'. Father Malone's Journal is worth a million. I see the dude in your vlog is a KISS fan, let's hear about that.

Dude that's RAD! The diary is definitely one of the top props to have from the film. Something so cool it should be in the Smithsonian someday, after you've cherished it for many years of course.

I don't think I've ever seen anything surface from The Fog. I'll be queuing up my Scream Factory release of the film this evening along with the HHG episode.

The middle initial in Robert Stevenson is likely "L" for Louis, which would be a call back to the author of novels such as "Treasure Island" and "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".

I was rewatching your episodes of Horror's Hallowed Grounds. Wonderful stuff. Two of my favorites were the Session 9 and Dawn of the Dead. My favorite parts were the bits of footage from far back in the past of you and your friends visiting these locations. I was curious...did you ever think of one day releasing the full journey/footage of when you and your friends visited the Danvers State Hospital back in 2004, or the full journey/footage of when you guys visited the Monroeville Mall way back in the day?
Yes I have. I do know that even just classic mall enthusiasts would love to see all of the raw footage. Same goes for Urban Explorers. I will consider doing that for sure. I have a separate video from that 90’s mall trip with Tom Savini doing a Q & A in the food court and then we walk around the mall with him. I just haven’t put it up yet.
