If those two walk into Villain Pub, almost all the villains are screwed!

Calling Orochimaru the crystal Pepsi of villains’ is the most insane burn I’ve ever heard. Like, Freddy Kruger would have flashbacks hearing that one.

I imagine Villain Pub probably gets destroyed as often as the Yellow Flag bar from Black Lagoon given the clientele they both deal with tend to have explosive personalities.

I had just thought, "Well, there's a building burning down tonight!" just before our dude says "Of course the pub is on fire!" If Dresden is out looking for trouble, not burning down a building isn't a realistic option. I think a book with those two in it together would be a fantastic read.

Of course the whole Mary Poppins and Pennywise thing with feeding on different emotions is how white court vampires work in the Dresden Files although in the books we only really deal with the Raith family who use lust with one book involving a different family that uses fear/terror.

huh...yeah, no, as nonsensical as they tend to be over in Narutard land Orochimaru is legitimately more threatening than your average snake-themed diva...it's a little hard to gaugue how much because the posing and monologueing and all that nonsense is apparently both a real thing in-universe _and_ an artifact of the medium through which we are being conveyed a story and that is very much an important factor here. short version of why? end-story naruto is capable of: | fighting at light speed including all of the perception and information processing required | local omniscience | wide area near-omniscience | both dealing and tanking several planet busting hits over the course of a fight | managing sub-molecular and possibly sub-atomic precision while wielding that level of force at that speed | and doing all of that in exceptionally complex methodologies and applications again while fighting at roughly the speed of light | that *SAME* individual with no reduction of their _peak_ capabilities is also capable of tripping while walking down the street, getting blindsided by someone handing him some paperwork, getting bogged down and overwhelmed by said paperwork, having difficulty moving furniture around in his house, burning himself while digging into his favorite ramen a bit too quickly, and getting stumped by simple mechanical devices. the power system in their setting is entirely dependent on how much attention the user is paying and how they are using their powers, when they are not keyed up and ready for a thing they are essentially baseline humans...incompetent and confused ones at that since a huge portion of their life experience and skillset is completely incompatible with their baseline state. so an engagement with orochimaru will vary anywhere from ganking some snake-themed cosplayer pretending to be a ninja and wondering where the real orochimaru is clear on up to trying to engage a hypercompetent locally omniscient master manipulator who is entirely capable of getting into a fistfight with a nuke *and winning* or parrying the blast in a casual disregard for physics (likely aiming it somewhere specific) but is far more likely to simply teleport it over some annoying enemy's head half a continent away. weirdly enough Constantine is in a similar boat on in-setting inconsistency: his powers are almost purely situational, he just has a heck of a lot of them and is an absolute master at figuring out which situational power goes where when and how.

I enjoy this series, but it's really weird how that they keep trying to act like Harry Dresden is a "thing".

Constatine and Dresden showing up. And Palp's reaction to the call about fire coverage and giving Pennywise an earful.....this need to be a thing.
