Karl, you obviously have the original vhs. I was one of the two cameramen who filmed the video. I remember the 'Lament for the Children' played at Loch Maree, the midges were eating us alive...thanks for the memories...FS...
Really? That's great! :) I don't have the VHS Tapes anymore, but got it on my computer! Yes, I know, the midges can be really, really bad... Thank you very much for your comment! Karl.
Ian Jess from Northern Ireland was similar really as both players looked as if the bagpipes was part of their body. I also was an admirer of John Wilson & David Caldwell playing the pipes. All great players.
Here's a good lesson for beginners. See how relaxed he is, and his finger movements are just enough to make the correct sounding note and he isn't straining to keep the air pressure steady of the bag, therefor steady notes and drones. It was once said his pipes were so easy to play you could blow them with your nose.
@@evanm3703 Did I ever say his easy reed was mutually exclusive to his skills and experience? Maybe what I was getting at was precisely that his experience has allowed him to manipulate his reed just so he could sound great and the reed is still easy?
