Turn the steering wheel while you turn her over, she will start alot better and less wear on the starter. The power steering pump works off the motor rotation.
It's in between the two gear levers with the red balls on top by your knees/feet. It's the yellow flat top lever that looks like it has cuts in it like a gear. Pull it up to engage. it should stay. Push it down to disengage.
