You got you some John Deere’s. I have a 345, GX 345 & I just bought an all wheel steer. I had some issues with the 345 but it runs good now. I had John Deere work on the GX. For all they did, it ran great for 15 hours and then it started the same crap again. It runs for 45 mins and then starts choking itself. John Deere charged me around $1250. Not going back there. Great videos. Be watching a lot of your JD videos. Thanks
Finally got our 345 back up and going. Had one cylinder nit firing. Switched plugs and coils and a relay and nothing. Finally it came down to some corrosion. Got the connections cleaned and both. Cylinders are firing again.
To get the push rods in or out I just push the rocker arm with my fingers to release tension. The valve springs aren't that stiff. The fuel pump also holds pressure on the cam so the fuel pump has to be removed to remove the cam.
Im looking for a used mower to just cut grass [ about 2 acres of flat land} . i WANT AT LEAST 48- 60 INCH DECK...and want something reliable and simple to work on as far as replacing belts, taking off blades....I dont want alot of bells and whistles or safety switches and it doesnt jhave to look great . What would you suggest
Would truly liked to have known what actually was the problem . Doesn't appear to be the bottom end . So far , still looks like a salvagable expensive high quality LC Kawasaki engine .
i got 345 kawasaki. it has been standing for months. now can't start it. It idle, and only starts when i pour petrol into air intake. I removed the fuel pump, there was a bit of orangy color of water, cleaned it, flushed with petrol, installed back but still no change. Could it be carburetor? should i replace the fuel pump to new one? pls help :(
yep a lot of 345's went up in flames because of the fuel pump issue,i bought one of the engines from a burned up 345,took a lot of work getting it cleaned up but it ran good when i finished
again, great video!Do you know how many hours were on that engine?Someday i wanna repair those engines myself as well. how to get started as a newbie? using videos like this for instructions?
I have a 345 I think it's 1995 and it backfires when I shuts off. What would cause that to happen? It has a liquid cooled Kawasaki FD590V-BS04 and the carb has no shut off Solenoid. can one be put on or do I have to replace the carb?
My Screen shows '85' Subscribers my friend ! movin' up. If the rebuild fails, you could always through in a cheap Briggs Motor. Got one in my 325 and their almost identical to the 345, 355
Wow yes 85 subscribers I never would have thought I would have that many in such a short time period. I'm trying to make a go at this channel that's for sure. Hopefully the cam replacement will fix this motor. I am a salvage yard first so if the motor turns out to be junk I will just part it out.
Wrong terminology. It's not the key way that was left in. It was the key. The key way is the notch or slot cut into the shaft and whatever fits on the shaft. The key is the part that fits into the key way.
I found a non running 335 in physical good shape....but owner says it doesn't run...worth $800? Been sitting in a barn for a while....looks like it would clean up nice...20HP V twin...1000hrs
That's about double of what I would pay for a non running 335. But I would be buying it to make a profit. If you are buying it to keep its still a tad high. Keep in mind at 1000 hours belts, bearings, idlers, pto clutch bearing are probably getting bad.
@@smallenginegarage Thanks so much for the quick reply sir! Love your videos. Keep them coming. Getting better every time and DIY like myself tremendously helpful!
Not doubting your knowledge of these engines, but draining the crankcase before tear down is basic 101 mechanics, also not degreasing and washing the block is just another basic step,if nothing else it keeps the tear down area somewhat clean. The constant calling yourself stupid or dumb is not helpful either, the shaking video needs to go also. You have a good product to provide, there are plenty of us JD owners particularly 345 owners who will subscribe to all videos we can find. I’m not nitpicking and I realize you are just getting started and hopefully this helps smooth the rough edges.
