Research the main hydraulic pump please! Your valves in it are wore out. Historically your pump pressure is too high. Your transmission light should be on and change your transmission oil filter between tear downs!

Great video Jon!! Only tractor I have the chatter on is my 4240 and it's only when I start it after many days of not running and when I start it the first time and the arms have leaked down. It takes many days of not running for them to leak down. I'm not going to worry about it for now but I think I'll start putting the lever down before I start it if arms are down let it run a while then raise them from now on. Thanks and take care man!!

This explanation sounds good but my 570p JD tractor power steering is very hard to turn and takes a long time to lift the plough. The is an unusual noise when igling. Plz advise.

I just bought a 4020 also and I was kind of worried about it cuz I heard this sound at the back of the motor so before I bought it I investigated more and it sounds like it's coming from underneath the dash when I use the 3-point hitch it quietens down or goes away for a second then it comes back I don't know if it's sound coming from somewhere else traveling through the line I thought it was valve noise from the motor but it is not I used a stethoscope... the sound reminds me of air compressor on a semi building up or chattery

Hello Jon. Should my arms creep down on my 4055? It sometimes seems to be where the lever is set as sometimes it will keep them up and other times they go down over night. Also how good are you with electrics? I’ve lost illumination for my dash and have no warning lights other than the charging light and no fuel or temp guage and if I put sidelights on without key it brings the digit’s up on the right hand dash but no needle for temp guage?

I have never experienced the 3010 running out of loader function after years of unloading and stacking thousands of round bales. Im going to try to make it happen next time i drive it.

Awesome video the John Deere closed center hydraulic system is a animal of its own kind but when you understand how it works it's not that complicated it's basically like a household water system that returns the fluid it has to come to standby pressure. I have noticed that the 10 20 30 40 series don't like extended run time with orbital motors especially Charlynn gerotor motors the whole system and transmission case gets hot I would think that if the oil drained thru a case drain on the return and it had another oil cooler would make a huge difference the one farmer I work goes thru a main pump every summer using a Vermeer hydraulic drive bar rake I told him I could build him a standalone pto drive hydraulic system just for the rake.Keep up the great videos Jon

Our 8440 leaks down after sitting for a few hours. When we start it up, it chatters until it's fully up.

Damn I wish I knew this sooner. Our 6150 did this since it was new. I wondered why, now I know.

Thanks for the video. If you happen to be setting valves on a 20/30 series sometime, it would be great to see a video on that.

Very good information on how to be better at running the tractor. Still doesn't answer the question of why my hydra cushion seat keeps heading for the roof.
