John Deere 6430 plowing snow 2 

Plowing snow and bush hogging are both satisfying jobs to do. You see your accomplishment at the end of the job.

Some nights on that road you cant see the end of the hood on the tractor if the wind is blowing, makes you feel pretty alone.

I wish critics would post their own plowing videos, it would be interesting.

Yeah it’s more fun to plow deep snow, I have a new and bigger plow this year but we haven’t had a storm to make it worth taking out yet.

Yeah this was before I got my wheel loader the banks no longer get that bad anymore. I’ll see what I can do on the Dodge 5500, it belongs to the town, I’ll see if I can get a shot of it during the next storm. I actually had it out a few weeks ago and sanded one of the town roads.

Yeah it’s not a road I normaly plow, it’s a town road that my father plows with a Dodge 5500 plow/wing set up. He had shoved it back as far as the truck could get it. He was out of town for that storm so I just went to open it up. A grader was already scheduled to come push the banks back a few days after I filmed this so there was no need to try to shove it back.

You did the rite thing. Get the road open, let the grader do its thing.

Yeah, I have been waiting for a good storm this year but so far it all been small snow storms with only a few inches followed by rain.

This is a town maintained road that my father plows with a truck, he was out of town so I plowed it just to keep it open. My driveway is short and takes 5 minutes to plow.

I have a blower but it is slower and takes a lot more fuel to run.

This video was taken a year before I got my wheel loader. Now I do have a wing and plow on the loader.

I don’t have any video yet but I was thinking of making a close up of it soon. I am running a Laforge front three point hitch on my tractor so it was really easy to modify the plow frame to fit. It was right between wet and dry. It rained for the last bit of the snow storm soaking up the top few inches but it plowed ok. Thanks for watching.

Yeah it’s not a road I normally plow. I was plowing it because the regular guy was out of town and a grader was already scheduled to come and wing back the banks. I plowed it just to keep it open during that storm.

Most likely deer, moose are scarce during winter around here.

This road is maintained by the town I plowed this because the town plow operator was out of town. Your telling me that I should have plowed this road with the plow angled. If you noticed that most of the time I’m plowing that my blade is almost as wide as the road it self. If I had plowed with the blade angled I would have been trying to shove almost all that snow from the entire width of the road to one side. Where it fills the blade and spills out over the top of the blade leaving just as much snow behind. Now I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt because this was not in the video but that is how I started plowing this road and switched to a straight blade. It sent half of the snow to each side. As for the stress on the tractor, I have a hydraulic relief valve to protect the blade if there is to much strain on it the blade will hit the relief valve bypass and angle on its own. As for the tractor it takes more strain pulling a field plow through the dirt than this snow plow could come close to. The front hitch has a capacity of 6600 lbs so I think she can handle it.

That tractor is designed to pull 3 boeing 747's at a time. I don't think a wittle snow is going to hurt it. Tard.

LOL I don’t mind plowing snow most of the time, wet heavy snow not so much. As much as I’d love to sit on a sunny beach all winter I’d still miss the snow but not the cold.

It's one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't situations. Most of the time the foil works great.

I don’t know what you mean by tilted forward. It is in its normal upright position.

The way this plow is set up the push frame is level with the ground so the plow itself is a n the correct position. Its made like that to help keep the snow moving to right and away from the plow. Top rolls over a slight bit. U ever watch the waves at a beach. Same principal.

I have a large snow blower but even though it throws snow further the plow is much fast and has a lower fuel consumption.

@@TB-jj9tu Lol. It was a take on the movie "Jaws" when Roy scheider said "you're going to need a bigger boat." It just seemed like it was a lot of snow for that plow

yeah I get that a lot. it is 2 miles of road and I can really only snowblow at 1 mph so it would take a long time. At the time this video was taken no one was living on this road so there was no rush to get it plowed. The town truck has a side wing on it but after several big storms the truck just could no longer push the banks back and a motor grader was scheduled to come in and push back the banks a day or two later. I was just opening it up mostly because it was fun to be pushing on a long road rather than short driveways like I’m normally plowing.

Mother Nature does not care what you have for a plow, she just dumps snow on the ground and it’s our problem to clean it up. You just do what you have to do to get the job done, this little plow got the job done

@Marc vachesus I delete 2 out of 3 comments I get because they are just plain rude and nasty. One guy said it was a good thing he didn’t know where I lived because he would like to kick me in the balls for the way I plow. I never knew something like pushing snow could only be done one way but how many different options are the correct way. It absolutely blows my mind.
