The fact that there is so much water, staying on top and not going into the ground, Shows that its All Hard and packed and should be worked much deeper.
Perhaps but there is a limit to what that can do. Here in MN Red River Valley famers increasing use train tiling to get water off their field earlier and without so much topsoil loss. Sometime soil is simply inundated with water all the down past deep ripping. I think what they are trying to do here is dry the soil out faster, by exposing wet soil directly, taking off the crust which can hold water. As a kid who grew up on a black soil farm I can tell you this is typical spring condition, although we would never run our machinery in to standing water. all that does is further dig out a low area
One f our local sod farmers uses the Kelly Disc and loves it for the job it does. They farm in sandy soil and can go as fast as 10 mph. Another great video.
That diamond harrow works great on that type of ground. I wonder how it would do in sod or clay ground. Going through quite a bit of water there. It's wet up here in the northeast still too. Back when I used to disc fields, I would try to get close to the wet spots and hit them with the wings on the discs to get them to dry out quicker. We used Allis 2300 discs.
I do like the new 9 Series. Those Diamond Harrow disc's are interesting to watch. Running that fast you can cover ground quickly. Appreciate your time Jason. Very cool👌🏻.
Well, if JD follows its past track record of upping the HP numbers on all its large tractors by 10 every year, in 2024, they will once again have a 9RX 510 LOL Those diamond harrows are always so impressive in the job they do.

@@bigtractorpower thank you that was interesting.I seem to be drawn to the implements, what they do to the ground, why its used.controls in side the tractor any electronics like GPS controls. I know you are tractor centric channel. Also thank you for taking time out to answer. Been watching your channel awhile and am subscribed
It can remove weeds by cutting off their roots. This implement smooths the surface of the field especially if it was subsoiled in the fall. It also removes sprayer tracks and cuts up residue. It does a nice job.
@@solologging2488 if I ever become a billionaire, I will buy up Indiana farmland from underneath developer’s noses and rent it back to farmers just to spite developers
@@bigtractorpower Yeah that track tractor can keep you going. I've never saw anyone driving through ponds of water getting ground ready to plant, looks scary. Helps to have excess horsepower to get through the tough spots. But it's getting later by the day. Love all the videos you produce very informative, thanks. Here in the FLATTVILLE USA area we're wet this spring also.
