My mod to fix the gapping issue when using plow extensions on the 54" quick hitch plow. I'd advise to use the method sent to me by one of my viewers, it is way better! I left my mod on there if you are still curious though.
*Shout out to Bob Johnson for his much better design!*

I think you better order a couple more springs for that plow. Mine tripped all the time at 54 inches. Adding the wings will make it very annoying. I sold my JD blade and modded a old Cub Cadet blade with 4 springs i had kicking around to fit my quick hitch on my X748. Works great. Kent from PEI

I lock it up with the pin for when using with dirt, never flops over now!

Dig the content. I have a 2016 x580 and enjoy your videos on those 😎. If you have fixed the flex on the gusset since this discard, but if not...A suggestion to what you have made for the fix. You mentioned rubber washers. How about getting a bunch of rubber or nylon washers and put in between to fill the void and be able to put enough pressure to close the gap and not flex the gusset, etc..

I have thought of that, problem is with the wing not being fastened at the bottom, even with washers there, it will still pull against the gusset, so mine have actually gotten worse. This method I used was a good try and fail. Honestly the best is to do the bar all the way through. Just haven’t gotten around to it…

Thanks for sharing your journey with the X758. I also have a X758, and I would love to see a video on changing the oil, and changing the air filters on one. I have searched all over RU-vid trying to find videos on it and have found nothing. Would be great if you put one together with the changes and grease fitting locations. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos!

That will definitely be coming, but I think oil on these things is like 200 hours, not even a 50hr break-in. Only 50 is for transaxle. I’ll have to see if there is a time it can be done, so as to come sooner. Are you needing this info like right now?… I’m dying waiting to get to 50 so I can do the transaxle change and add the rear PTO. 1/2 hour left!

@@JoshsGreenGarage I have had my local John Deere dealer do my oil changes up to this point. The cost is getting a little crazy to have them do it. So, I am looking to start doing the maintenance work myself. I read the same thing as far as hours between services, but I also saw in the owners manual where the oil change section is, that you follow the hours schedule or change the oil once per year. I just want to learn the best way to keep the tractor in the best shape possible. Thanks for the response!

Ok, if once per year, I’ll be doing mine around February. Hopefully that isn’t too far out for you. I’ll for sure be doing a video though. Also, as I said, transaxle should be soon!
