John Denver brings me to tears with this utterly beautiful song. I loved Jacques Cousteau who was a hero to me and inspired me to become a Marine Biologist. Two beautiful people who are sadly missed. RIP
I fear the state of the world in 2024 would have broken John's heart.😢 I will always miss John. His songs are my base programming. Theyre my spirit and im proud of that...always have been. (🤟I saw John the first time in 1976 when i was a tween.🤟)
This song was a defining piece by JD. I grew up hanging on every word Captain Cousteau uttered. I waited eagerly for every TV show he produced and then some. He truly was a pioneer that made the world a better place. I so miss him. And JD, too
I think he has a monument in every heart on earth that has seen him. I also waited for every video. Jaques was everything when we was a kid he was bigger than Disney.
I grew up yodling this as an anthem! Yes I was a lover of nature. But, more than that I was made conscious of the earth because of John Denver. Hearing Jacque Cousteau speak was like listening God explain his creation!
I’m a fan of John Denver. I’ve going to the beach and being in the ocean since I was a toddler. My family and I spent every summer vacation at the beach. My dad and I always enjoyed watching any tv program spotlighting Jacques Cousteau. Watching those programs and listening to John’s song Calypso just spoke to my soul. 🤿 🤟
Love John Denver. Had the privilege of meeting him in person on several occasions. Had my picture taken with him. I think at the end of this video, that's John riding on the whale and then waving good-bye as the whale heads further out to sea!
Great video with a grrat song. Both, Jacques Cousteau and John Denver, would be turning in their graves if they knew ehat happened to the Calypso and its legacy.
