From "Windstar Foundation / Choices for the Future" (1991). "Designing a Socially Just New World Environment". John Denver sings "The Gift You Are". I love this video!!
When we lost John Denver, we lost a wonderfully gifted, talented musician who brought beautiful music into our lives. I love his music which always has beautiful messages. He has touched the hearts and lives of many people. His memory and music will live on forever.
Hello 👋 Virginia. How are you doing ? Hope are you fine. Im Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from . You seem like a real country girl
decent, pure, handsome, dignified, intelligent, full of empathy, environmentalist, peace keeper, talented and a true showman.. but he also mastered the art of staying in our hearts forever - who's still here April 2019
John’s music got me through ten years of a dead end marriage. The honesty and depth of the music he wrote still stirs my soul. Now I have been with my soulmate for 33 years and John Denver music is never very far away. Thanks John, and wherever you are I hope your days are filled with sunshine and rippling waters….
John: if you could hear us from the beyond, I would want to tell you, you made growing up easier 😊. And you really don't know how much you are missed down here 😢 and the solace you provided so many people was beyond compare.
Got to see this amazing gentleman perform live, twice, in Pittsburgh. Lemme tell ya something that those who have never heard him live may not know....he had POWER in that tenor voice! When he wanted to he could CRANK IT UP and just blow you away!!!!!! He hardly needed the PA, and I'm not kidding! Just an INCREDIBLE talent, as a performer AND especially as a songwriter. Miss him every day. RIP John
My hero, my all time favorite vocalist who not only was a great songwriter and singer but an amazing guitar player. I saw him in Hawaii where he did a one man show. he was amazing. He sounded like three people up there bc of the way he could play. I taught myself to sing harmony by singing with his songs. He was and still is the greatest,,,,,no one will ever come close!Thank you John for all you did for me in my life❤️
My mom passed away very recently, and tonight I was talking out loud in my room hoping she could hear me. I lit her favorite scent of candle and told her it could be her guiding light to come see me in my dreams. I had RU-vid open, but the song before had finished playing a long time before I started talking to her. Then when I was crying at the end of talking to her this song started playing. It's my first time hearing it, and I believe she played it to tell me the dark times won't be around forever and to tell me how much she loves me. This song now means the absolute world to me.
I have always loved John's music, so thankful to God for him, I started listening to him when I was younger, loved him then and love him as much today, Rip sweet and beautiful John, a fan always from Tennessee
Many years ago i worked as a ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park. This song was part of my evening campfire program. It not only MOVES ME, it brings the past flashing back and brings me great, great joy. What a man you were John Denver.
the most gifted singer and song writer and only shows he was human even forgetting words...a very sad loss to us and his world of music and songs....gone but never to be forgotten..you left us an amazing legacy of songs and music and you....will live in your music for generations to come and discover your music and singing...you brought so much joy and pleasure to thousands...may you RIP....
My favorite singer. His music always touched my heart. I can’t imagine my life without his music. He was such a gift and died way too soon. He had so much talent as a song writer, singer and entertainer. I am so glad that I had the chance to see him in concert. Rest In Peace sweet man.

Hello 👋 Julie. How are you doing ? Hope are you fine. Im Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from . You seem like a real country girl
Oh, this is so very sweet. John makes me smile everytime. The little mistake is so cute the way he handled it. It's too bad people took him for granted and really has forgotten about him. How very sad that is. We really lost someone very special. Thanks for all of your wonderful postings of this great man:)
He is always living in his songs, beautiful heart and thoughts. He was ahead of his times... raising awareness and working about Nature and preserving it. His wisdom, clarity of thoughts and love shines through his beautiful songs. Love you John ❤️
John was a masterful guitarist, and a poet who sang with a warm, velvety voice. I was privileged to see and hear him in concert at Merriweather Post Pavillion . He was magical. I was teary as he played his last song of the night.
John was so clean cut, but in a way that I have not seen any other artist be able to be. Why Don't people understand that is people like this and music like this that makes the world a better place, not loud disturbing, disruptive music, with people who screw up their lives. John was a gift and this is his song.
John your music is deeply embedded in my soul. This song is such a gift to me. When John sings remember your darkest hour with dawn so far away, remember the way you longed for mornings light... Several years ago my wife was critically ill with Wilsons diseases and in need of a liver transplant. In the end she was not expected to make it for more than a day or two. Then the gift came at the last minute because of a selfless young lady. We truly are each a gift.
That song speaks to me on so many levels...LOVE you John...you were a visionary....you changed the world with your music...nobody could see it then....but they see it now......I guess that's what happens when your gifted....speaks volumes...R.I.P....my ❤😇
I have been a fan of John Denver for many years and I never knew of this song. It is beautiful and a true testament of the love between my husband Frederick and I. We were married on December 24, 1988 and we always told each other that we were the best gift we ever gave each other. Frederick died April 9, 2017 and he would have absolutely loved this song. His memory will always be my forever gift.

I MET THIS BEAUTIFUL SOUL MANY YEARS AGO....HE FLEW HIS PLANE INTO A PLACE WHERE I WAS LIVING AT THAT TIME....TRULY MAGICAL....THAT'S ALL I WILL SAY....SOME THING'S ARE BEST LEFT IN SECRET......MISS YOU JOHN.....😇💝🙏💖

This man was still alive in 1991 and I missed him before he left the earth... well... I hope to meet him one day on the other side a long time from now. What an inspiring, loving being. A soul who knows how to love
Hello 👋 Cynthia. How are you doing ? Hope are you fine. Im Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from . You seem like a real country girl
John Denver was a very special, exceptionally talented writer, and singer with very unique range. He also was the best live performer I've ever witnessed; you had to drag him off the stage kicking and screaming when the show was over (lol), he loved to sing!
Don’t know how I JUST found this. My first time hearing. I only wish he actually believed that about himself. Only six years later he’d be gone. I loved the 70s, his prime, and still today, 22 years after he left this world, terribly miss him and his music.
John Denver recorded the most awesome songs and he had the most amazingly beautiful voice that just made you melt inside and feel like you could fall in love with him. Its tragic that he died so suddenly but he left a legacy in his music and in his children.
Love this video of John, THANK-YOU for sharing, love his giggle, and the fact that his concerts sometimes had mistakes in them, and us JD fans loved that! We all had a GREAT time at John's concerts! Always & Forever A PROUD JOHN DENVER fan!
John was a kind & beautiful soul with the voice of an angel. His spirit & enthusiasm gave so many of us hope & a determination to better our world. I miss his laughter at himself, especially. The world needs more like him, but of course, there never will be anyone like him again. He was truely a gift to this world.
If I could sit down and share a beer with anyone who's passed, this man would be my choice. The heart and soul he puts into his lyrics moves me to tears. I'd never heard this song until tonight. Thank you for posting.
Me too Hal....wasn't it grand those years in the Music Tent...you were awesome..John was FAR OUT....miss him and boy do we need his music now..more than ever..
i love how nobody seemed to mind he messed up and he made up for it with humor. love you john wish you were still here. i know heaven's a much better place with you.
As far as I'm concerned John Denver always under estimated him self when it came to writing his songs. John called 'Healing Time On Earth' a work in progress. He couldn't of been further from the truth. It is really a BRILLIANT song. John's aways said he never knew where his songs came from. well, he must of had 'Healing Time On Earth' hovering over him. Seeing the look on his face as he sings a new song to the audience has always excited me
Hello 👋 Danielle. How are you doing ? Hope are you fine. Im Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from . You seem like a real country girl
Country roads is one of the greatest songs of modern times. From first I heard it, I wanted to go to see the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I finally did see the mountains, and they were absolutely as beautiful as I imagined. What a beautiful world we live in; I wish all of the human race will learn to take better care of our gorgeous planet earth.
My son who is no longer with us loved JOHN DENVER'S SONGS. To hear them fills my heart with lovely memories of how much love he had in his HEART. Gone too soon. We communicated every day of his life always with love in our hearts. Love miss him so much.
I want to thank you for sharing this video. I am a huge John Denver fan, I have been since he first came on the scene. I'm having a John Denver day today and he was truly becoming such a brilliant musician when he was taken from us. Not to say he wasn't always brilliant... But I knew he had so much more to give and he was giving so much. I miss him so much and I am so grateful that we can share his loss together. RIP DEAR JOHNNY ..... 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🎻🎶
Hello 👋 Karen. How are you doing ? Hope are you fine. Im Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from . You seem like a real country girl
This man, his music, heart and soul, is why I am who I am. His music formed my personality for which I am honored. I saw him in concert many times throughout my life and there wasn't a day in my youth that his music wasn't playing on my, lol, record player. He will always be the air that I breathe.
I understand this. His voice has been in my heart since I was a child. I would not hesitate to sing Karaoke to a John Denver song because they are part of me.
@@Subdeaconmark I think we all did it was a great loss he had so much to give with his music and songs I saw John live back in78 he was wonderful had a way to make you feel good about your self.
I will always love the man, John Denver, he always seemed so very kind, his music was gentle and kind, a quality our new generation doesn’t seem to have.
It is hard to believe it has been 13 years since the day we lost this wonderful man; a gift to us for so many years. I still tear up listening to his beautiful voice. I lost my husband that same year, so 1997 was a tough year for me. I miss my husband so much, and I hope that John is singing to all that have lost love ones. Rest my dear. I miss you John. Frankie
John Denver had the love of God in his heart and he shared it with the world. He wanted us all to know that we can have this same love and peace that God gives anytime we choose it. We all have infinite worth. Thats the Truth John shared. Beautiful.
He certainly was a gift to us, and his gift still keeps on giving even though he did go home! He’s with our maker, it’s just too much to think of losing him, breaks my heart. He was a talented songwriter and singer. He deserved so much more than he got. I’m just grateful I grew up in the era where I got to hear his songs often. I can’t believe it’s been 23 years since the senseless tragedy that took him from us, oh John John John, we sure could use someone like you here with us now.....you are so missed and loved all these years later. I play all your songs and reminisce of wonderful times past, I smile, I cry, I remember you.... Heaven is sure blest to have you there. I can just picture you hanging out on a cloud with your guitar, observing us here on earth, and having you strum your guitar, then singing songs recalling your time on earth. It was just too short buddy, wish you were with us still. I love you John Denver! Always will! 💕💞💖

I’m so grateful to have seen him twice in San Francisco. We will not see his like again! You saved me when I was being abused by an insane family. Your music kept me going & still does. Godspeed John!💜🎤
What a gifted poet and performer! JD's heartfelt music lives on in all our hearts. My favorites are "ANNIE", "SWEET LADY", and "ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH". "The Gift You Are" ranks up there like the first breath of Springtime ... BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you John Denver!! This song was perfect made me remember sweet memory of my Daddy who been gone 18 years today. Bet y'all are buddies he loved music and was such a gift just like you. RIP Beautiful words, song. 💝💝💝Blessings to your family, our world misses you!!🌅
John Denver was an amazing gift to all of us... I am grateful to you John for bringing this amazing music to us.. I look at the world and wish we had an artist like you!!! Love to all... Dee from Sri Lanka
Saw John play live & walked away knowing I was going to learn how to play guitar.....today I can play many of his songs.....what a gift John Denver was to everyone & everything.....God Bless😇
Hello 👋 Maureen. How are you doing ? Hope are you fine. Im Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from . You seem like a real country girl
John Denver was more than a part of my generation, he was a voice of hope in a mixed up world. His beautiful songs with lyrics that spoke from the heart touched me then, as they still do now. The loss of him to us pales in comparison to the loss to his family. I am a man who has to admit I have never been so moved by a performer . John and his music will always hold a place in my life.
Bill Willis the songs he wrote and sang were beautiful. A lot were about his life, most of them sad. He always felt alone, even with his family. A lost soul who made you feel emotional. RIP Mr deutchendorf....
I didn't realize how talented John Denver was until recently. I now listen to his music 2 -3 times a day. What a gift he has been to me. His music is very uplifting and full of hope.
Bill Willis Bill: I too am a man who broke down and cried the day this man died. I am still as Moved by his music, lyrics and Spirit today at 62 as I was at 17 when I travelled across this great continent playing & singing his music to anyone, anywhere! He was a gift so rare and powerful, and perhaps most significantly, in particular when he would remind us ALL of our own gifts! Take that with you when you walk out of the door next, and experience the changes when you walk down the street knowing that John Denver himself referred to you as a gift to humanity as rich, powerful and necessary as himself... RIP John...
when i was 10 i was trying to sleep while listening to my ipod when this song came on. i listened to it. then i got up went into the living room secretly and heard in 7-10 times before i memorised it... true story.. :) P.S. my mom came nd gave me a scolding but hey.. it was worth it! :P
