This video is of John Dodd out with the Beast on the 13th of May 2018. The last video we did was almost EXACTLY 9 years ago to the day on the 18th of May 2009! Dad is still driving around and working at his automatic transmission repair business in Churriana, Malaga with great health at almost 86 years old! This was the last outing before the Beast now undergoes having a replacement rear differential, a 4.11 Ford Currie differential. John Dodd is happy to answer questions about the Beast via the Beast fan page on Facebook or via his business webpage www.automaticgearboxspain.com

Having owned my fair share of medium-sized V8s in the UK, I have occasionally had to politely nod along when someone is talking about their 2 or 3 litre car having a huge, thirsty engine. When your car is 27 litres and averages 13-14mpg on a gentle cruise (going by his classic TV interview from the 70s), it must be hard to keep a straight face when someone regards an 8-10 litre V8 as a big engine.

Yes Dad had slot of fun on the autobahn lol! 😂 He says he got up to 120 miles per hour when he disappeared! I can’t keep up because of speed cameras & restrictions (I also find it hard to watch as no airbags etc and Dad is 89 years old!)

Wow what a car but wow what a guy your dad certainly knew how to live life to the full flying around in the beast. He must have been one hell of a problem solver building such a unique car, I can't imagine the engineering that went into building the car and to get it running properly to be able to use it as a daily driver, your dad certainly wasn't scared to put his foot down and show off. So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. ❤
