I am not Irish, but I am Roman Catholic and an American and feel proud of our fallen President Kennedy and pride in the contribution of Americans, like those of Irish decent.
Every time I go to Ireland to visit where my great grandparents lived , I always hear about JFK ☘️🌹🙏. I thank my ancestors for handing down the faith . Ave Maria
I love the Irish people. And there's a lot of reasons why. The fact that I am Scotch-Irish I promise had no persuasion or impact on my comment. A true Irish man never lies. He might embellish a little in the telling of the tale but never a lie
@@finnkillen6554 so your grandpa like I is or was scotch Irish. A Scots Irish could never see and probably never believe a barn could take flight. But me has a Scotch Irish probably could have flown it. LOL I for one believe your grandfather, it would be unlikely an Irishman say something that is not so. Of course it took flight and bless his soul wherever he's at.
Being a proud Irish Catholic American watching this Great Irish Catholic American gave me a sense of how proud I am living in this Great country and how I know we can back to the values this Great man was setting way back. All 6 of my children are very aware of this great man!!!
Andy, Kennedy was not an Irish Catholic, tho some of his ancestors were. Also, his beliefs and policies were actually pro-British, in sharp contrast to his father.
@@johnnyoranges Of course JFK was an Irish Catholic...it can be debated whether or not he was a practicing Catholic. It is true that JFK did not believe in appeasing Hitler like his Father Joe did. Joe allowed his children to develop their own political beliefs though made no bones about stating his own.
@@johnnypastrana6727 FFS Kennedy was an American. Why do you have to go thru this sentimental claiming of every second person of note as being one of you ? Is it a case of insecurity ? I mean, I've got an Irish name too, but so what ? I'm not Irish.
@@johnnyoranges He was Irish catholic American, both sides....Im from Ireland and interested in the Kennedys...My advice is to cease talking about things you know little about, it cant be good for your self esteem to make an ass of yourself like this.
@@johnmurphy7316 is talking thru his arse. Kennedy's great grandparents were originally from Ireland. However, him, his parents, and his grandparents were from the US. That is, American. AMERICAN. STFU with the Irish bollocks, which he only played up to in order to win stupid (Irish) American votes. Other presidents such as the idiot Biden do that too. It's a con to get your vote. Wake up !
As a Paddy who grew up in Dublin in the 80s, I know full well the extent of American friendship - Tip O'Neil for one among many. Thank you USA and thank you JFK. If only our world leaders were as educated now as they were before. We will never forget. Thank you USA
The “irish Brigade” Kennedy spoke of was led by Thomas Maher whose statue stands proud in front of the state capitol in Helena, Montana. I’m a a Montana native but my soul roams free in Ireland.
Today, fifty eight years after this speech was made, we as a nation are painfully aware of how close we have come to loosing our freedom and liberty 🗽. Let us never forget that as JFK said “freedom is not free.”
When I was young,I had a paper route. Went to all the neighbors homes once a week,to collect $. On almost every TV was a picture of this man. Next to him was a photo of Martin Luther King.☘️🥂🚬🇮🇪🖤
That is my grandfather Paddy Hogan Ceann Comhairle, he worked until his 80s He wrote two books The Unmarried Daughter and short stories plus Camps on The Hearthstone. His book The Unmarried Daughter was published in 1922 and was ahead of its time in raising social issues. He was in the Labour party.
Just saying I am glad to share Irish heritage on my Mother's side. The family name is Brinson. We also have Scottish and English heritage Berry from Fife and Edinburgh and Cartwright and Markham from England. I spent a wonderful few weeks in beautiful Ireland able to see and feel the history. 😍🤗💚
President John F. Kennedy (in his own words). As an adult looking back over the years, I can’t help but come away with an eerie sense of incongruity between the man I hear speaking (President Kennedy) versus the way he is often portrayed in the Mainstream Media. In his speeches, Kennedy comes across as a man of great courage, conviction and intellect. A person who doesn’t seem to have a problem with truth telling. Yet, in the Mainstream Media, they tend characterize him as a man who has problems with indiscretion. I recently re-watched the Zapruder film, and I noticed a different type of incongruity. Look at the film again for yourself. Notice how the film doesn’t actually show the first shot. You know, the shot in the neck. That’s because there was a rather large sign obstructing Zapruder’s field of vision. As the film continues and Kennedy’s limo passes the sign, then you notice right away that the President has already has raised his hands to his neck. Therefore, the first shot had to have been fired during the few seconds when the car was passing the sign. Then, a few seconds later, there’s the second shot that appears to come at an angle instead of head on like the first one. These shots were separated by a matter of seconds. Surely, someone would have notice a shooter changing positions in order to take the second shot. What point am I trying to make you ask? Here it is: Looking back, I cannot accept the “history” surrounding President Kennedy. Specifically, what’s the real story behind the man, John F. Kennedy, and who was responsible for his murder and subsequent coverup? For far too long, these questions and more have been pushed aside by people in government. Yes, by people who were supposed to be working and representing “all the people.” Americans must start taking responsibility, and accountability, for the individuals we “entrust” with enormous power. If we don’t demand it now, when will we? I’ll give my answer to that question. If we don’t demand it now, we’ll be asking/begging for it when it’s, too, late.
More conspiracy theory nonsense about JFK's murder. Trust me, if there had been a "conspiracy", it would have been uncovered long, long ago. There was none. Deal with it.
Brat, he was shit scared of Castro and Kruschev, who were both genuine tough guys and serious politicians, not a soy boy like the brat Kennedy. Both of them laughed at the boy, and rightly so, cos they knew he was just his Daddy's fart. They never laughed at Nixon.
"For know you the one you mourn is not in that grave, "It was an illusion, the son you love was not really dead... "What you wept for was translated, pass'd from the grave, "The winds favor'd and the sea sail'd it, "And now with rosy and new blood, "Moves to-day in a new country." Old Ireland Walt Whitman Rest in peace President Kennedy.

Trump was the closest any American President has to embodying the values of JFK - no unnecessary wars, no bowing down to the fake msm, going up against the military industrial complex, etc. While the coup in 1963 was written in JFK's blood, the coup in 2020 was done using equally devious means.

Someone gave JFK bad American history to put in his speech ;). Fredericksburg was in December and in Virginia. Sharpsburg, Maryland (better known as the Battle of Antietam Creek) was at least in Maryland, in September (though not the thirteenth) and was the bloodiest single day of fighting in the Civil War.

Between 1948 and 1973, Ireland actually was an independent, sovereign nation. That ended in 1973, when Ireland joined the EEC and began receiving laws from its new colonial master, Brussels.
Susanna, the island of Ireland has never been a sovereign, independent nation with it's own recognized king and government. Or, if it has, tell me when.
@@susannamarker2582 1. 'Between 1948 and 1973' ?, OK. In that period, part of Ireland (Northern Ireland, sometimes called Ulster) was a province of the UK. Without going into the rights and wrongs of that situation, according to my passport, the UN, and so on and so forth, that is still the case. 2. 'Before the English came' ? OK. 'The English got there' a few times, so you would need to give me precise dates as to when the island of Ireland had a solitary governing body (i.e. king, parliament and/or president) which was recognized throughout all of Ireland and/or throughout Europe/World. I'm asking for specifics here i.e. dates, names.
