I always urge anyone who is a singer to watch John Farnham's immaculate mic technique. He knows exactly how far from his mouth to hold the mic every time he goes for a big note. Sometimes it's nearly a foot from his mouth, that's how far his voice projects.
The control he has over his breath and range during the chorus of this song is absolutely phenomenal. And he does it with such ease- this is serious vocal control on display here !
This is the most beautiful song and Johns vocals are unbelievably emotional and strong, what a lucky wife he has that he obviously co wrote this with her in mind ....wow, just wow
Thanks for your reaction and the respect for John. He co-wrote this song and it's about being away from their partners when they are on tour. When you listen to the lyrics understanding this, you really get the feels. His voice ... well, you are right Teez - he just makes you feel whatever he's singing. We're used to him belting out big songs but this shows his voice and his ability to sell the lyrics. And, of course, this was LIVE. No autotune and fiddling. What I loved about this video is you see about half way through they zoom out and John is just standing like a small figure in the middle of the stage singing his heart out. That's our John - singing his heart out. Love him. Loved your reaction. The other thing ... John always acknowledges the musicians, many of whom have been with him for years.
It is a shame people in the USA only just discovered this amazing music from our John Farnham. He is a living legend. Check out Please Dont Ask Me.... that is an amazing song.
One of Johns very best is TOUCH OF PARADISE. THAT'S ONE YOU MUST HEAR. JOHN IS NOW 70 AND I DO NOT DOUBT FOR A MOMENT HE CAN STILL HIT THE BIG NOTES. Another is LIFT IT UP MY ANGEL ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
❤️😍❤️😍 thankyou again If you liked this one you will love John Farnham and Olivia Newton John singing ‘Please Don’t Ask Me’ live performance at The Main Event Melbourne Tennis Centre 1998
@@kilgh Only if you're paying attention to old medias. Most youth do not pay much attention to old medias because they know where the good stuff is. It's not hard to find. And many of them such as Aurora do not use auto-tune for their voices because don't need it.
@@messysg1 Me as well I have to admit Im appreciating him more now Loving his older music now He is so talented didnt really listen to his music so closely as I am now With utube it makes it easier to watch his concerts and feel the emotion of his music I appreciate him a lot now Thank you John fir giving us so much
As an aussie who grew up on JF its so heart warming to see people are still discovering and understanding how amazing he is. Great reaction Brah. You have a new sub in me.
Yes...finally...someone doing this amazing song and performance. If you don't get a tear in your eye, listening to this, then you cannot be human..wow....
Thank you Rick so much for this request. I love this song and this performance one of my favourite of his just him and the guitar. Gives the goosebumps every single time, the best voice of all time in my opinion.
Did you catch where he forgot the lyrics (you can see it on his face) - he was notorious for it and always joked about it - never stressed just picked it up seamlessly
My friend used to go to school with hes son and he’s stories of going around to Johnnys house playing pool and having Johnny just sing over the games room bar was just a common thing for him growing up as he was just so happy & willing to engage & entertain & hang out with hes son & he’s mates. I was in grade 5 when this song came out in 1986 and we kids instantly picked it as our closing song to our end of year play performance. Great memories as it brings a tear of joy & pride of this great Aussie & message in the performance - which is so relevant to today’s chaos & confusion in response to the growing totalitarian global control
I’ve seen him live, what a treat! He’s a freakin legend here in Aus...any sound he does live is incredible. Try Help or When The War Is Over, two of the best. Also, of course, You’re the Voice (John is known as “the voice” here)
As a 53 yr old Aussie, growing up to John Farnham, having met and chatted with him over the years, and seen him live a few times............. and he having so many whopping tunes.......................a most underrated song of his is 'The Fire'................emotional as F#¥K 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
He did tour the U.S. as lead singer for The Little River Band. I might recommend Please don't ask me or Help or One is the loneliest number. He is blessed and so are we.💛
Thank you for 'finding' & sharing our John - one of the most brilliant artists on the planet - with a simply beautiful voice, and a thoroughly decent guy as well. Love from down here in TASSIE { Tasmania }
Another classic from old farnham, pure voice!!! Great reaction, check out reminiscing he performed with little river band, shows his versatility and groovey side!!! You wont regret it.
@@rickandersen2284 I Do Not understand your contempt. My request for "Angels" is a suggestion/request for More John Farnham music. So, kindly btf off!!🎧😎✌
@@maryhuhnke8496 I didn't mean to be mean... it's ust that the resurgence of John Farnham as you put it is no coincidence. In the main they are all paid for by somebody....like this one. I would love more people who enjoy them to make their own requests and push them through with a little support so I can enjoy their requests. But I suspect Teez is likely to tell me to btf whatever that means if I upset people making innocent unpaid requests. I wish we could organise our approach ie I pay for this one you pay for the next one. That way we'd get more up. I realize you're a fan. And I'm glad you enjoy my requests.
Hey man love to hear an outsiders opinion on the old boy, I saw him live in Elder Park a couple years back (2018) and I genuinely couldn't hear too much change between then and now, he absolutely smashes it out and is one of the best singers Australia has to offer I'm gonna go through the rest of your JF catalogue and give them a bash. Not sure if you checked out Playing To Win by John when he was in The Little River Band but it's an absolute blast. On a side note and not sure if anyone else has mentioned this and if they have I apologise but the reason why he keeps having so many "Last Times/Tours" is because the guy that books his venues is an old mate of his and he is in massive gambling debt and Johnny keeps coming out to bail him out. At least this is what I've heard. Keep up the great work brother sorry about the wall of text and much love from the AU.
@@paul-Ess he's cheap. He only asks for 5 but I sent a bit more..US dollars...and include the link so he doesn't have to search for it. Good luck. What we need is for people in the US to start requesting JF!
Check out this from when John was very young I'm sure you'll appreciate it, he's amazing even back then m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z7scTuXSYT4.html
If you think that was good? That's nothing, please react to John Farnham - Beyond the call (Brisbane expo) or John Farnham - See the banners fall. Both LIVE please! In Australia we call him The Voice Killer coz he kills all the other voices. I like that you even took notes on the performance. A+ right? LOL
And you are probably too young to remember the Pop Idol days when 4 or 5 girls would have to be hauled out of the front row as they had fainted or were on the verge of fainting!
