Jimmy actually did a duet with Sam Moore of another Sam and Dave song during covid called Soothe Me. Its awesome. What you said about legends having a presence is called Charisma!! And these guys are dripping in it! John Farnham is Australian royalty.. definitely worth diving into his 6 decades of hits! The eyes always widen, the jaw drops and then the eyes go straight to the camera with a look as if to say...."is this real". That's when I know that the person reacting appreciates his voice. He shows them all love and respect and they do the same to him. I had subbed due to your other Aussie music with the hope that John would be soon, was about to recommend him myself, so really happy to see this, and I hope you do much more of him as well - he is an amazing vocalist and a lovely man who Australians adore! The more you watch, the more you will be blown away, and please, always, always do John live - he shines on stage, and his voice is stellar. The traditional one to view early on to show off his voice is 'Help!' with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, but there is so, so much more to discover of his - he has every genre covered and is always pitch perfect, passionate, powerful and an absolute joy to watch.

Cover, been done by a few people, Sam and Dave in the 60's I think, -but nothing beats John and Jimmy, especially when you add Diesel, their performance singing this song at the ARIAs 1991 (Australian Record Industry Awards) was also excellent, and the following song that night 'In the Midnight Hour' with Diesel , Jimmy gives Diesel the nod to sing and also can be heard saying 'Help me out here Farnham' Three blokes just having fun.
John Farnham's never had singing lessons or vocal coaching, it's just a gift from God 🇦🇺 he's just recovering from throat cancer treatments. He's been singing since the 60s , he's had hits every decade. Watch his live shows - he is the best voice in Australia. These two are still great mates, jimmy barnes just recovering from illness and heart surgery at Xmas. He's been touring last year and his family and friends have continued his tour for him while he is recovering, so much talent in the barnes family. Diesel is amazing 🎸🎸🎸 and he is Jimmy Barnes brother in law, and has a music career of his own. This is Aussie rock royalty

You chose a good video. As you say, bad visual quality, but this was someone's recording off the TV on a VCR so, not bad. It's that acapella chorus at the end that really puts the cherry on top I think. @@SaeedReacts. John and Jimmy recently have both had health issues, They are good friends. When John found out he had Mouth Cancer, Jimmy flew to see and be with John. John has recently announced he is now Cancer Free (he had an 11+ hr surgery to remove the tumor and part of his jaw, The jaw was reconstructed with some rib bone, thankfully the voice cords were not affected. He is still recuperating but is now singing around the house). The guitarist that you can hear singing back up harmonies is Johnny Diesel, Jimmy's brother in law. He is also an accomplished rock singer who has had a long career with many hits in Australia.
@@SaeedReacts. No worries mate. I believe there are a few versions of his song "15 feet of snow" on youtube. He was originally in a rock band called Johnny Diesel and the Injectors but then went solo. He is very good acoustically, as he has a great range vocally and can play guitar really well. In fact, i can tell when it is Diesel playing guitar just by his style of playing...it is that distinctive. Another good one from him is Tip of my Tongue. Thanks again for the reaction Saeed.
This is a rock/blues version of the 1966 Sam and Dave song, and is from Jimmy's Soul Deep album; Jimmy was the first singer followed by John, the guitarist is Johnny Diesel(brother-in-law of Jimmy Barnes).

The guitarist is Mark Lizotte, known as Johnny Diesel. A very shy man who is probably Australias most popular blues singer and guitarist.....but he now sings in a higher register .....and is still so shy his humble persona is embarrassing. Check out Jimmy Barnes and Diesel video .....was a chat with a little singing, a bit of Diesels rare accoudtic guitar or metal dobro i think, and Jimmy singing Marks song with him, but using a typed sheet of lyrics because he didnt know the words. This was totally off the cuff.....pure and natural.

Well spotted Jimmy and John are both iconic performers down here. It was inspired for Jimmy to ask John to sing with him for this duet since neither of them were known for singing soul but as you can see they both killed it and their voices complement each other perfectly.

Then there's John, having never heard John sing......................lucky you, now you get to discover the GOAT ! He really is the best there is and was still belting at 73 until he had mouth cancer surgery. He is cancer free thankfully and is turning 75 on 1 July. Jimmy Barnes is the legendary lead singer of the iconic Australian band Cold Chisel. The guy on guitar is Diesel, a great artist in his own right, who happens to be Jimmy's son-in-law. John Farnham is another Australian icon. Agreeing with comments below about his live performance of Help with the MSO, but also suggest you also check out the 1992 Australian Cast live Sydney closing night performance of Gethesme in Jesus Christ Superstar, where John played the role of Jesus. John has recently undergone surgery on his jaw for cancer and Australians are wishing him a speedy and full recovery.

Saw John singing a while back,he was 72 and his voice was just as good! If it wasn’t for his mouth cancer he’d still be singing publicly today. His son says he has started to sing again at home. He’s loved so much by Australians.

Shout out to Diesel aka Mark Lizotte, who sang at the end and played guitar. He is Jimmy’s brother in law (they married sisters). Cold Chisel covered this previously….. The quality isn't the best because it was most likely uploaded to a computer from a VHS video tape that someone recorded back in the day when it aired on tv. Old tv was very low quality...only 480p resolution and most tv shows back in the day were recorded on tape at the studio as well (old film from 100 years ago was higher quality than video tape), broadcast to analogue tv's that sometimes had not the best signal strength therefore the picture goes more fuzzy and noisy unlike new digital tv's that keep a good picture in lower signal strength until it just scrambles and goes blank when it gets weak. Long gone are the days when tv was buzzy, fuzzy and hard to make out everytime a car drives down the street or next doors vacuum cleaner interferes and makes lines and static on the screen and scratchy noises and pops in the sound.
@@SaeedReacts. Lol. My dad inherited his parents house and we had to dispose of thousands of VHS tapes...one whole 2x4 m³ dumpster/skip full. My Grandfather used to record the news and a few other things every day since VHS and VCR's were a thing. We also disposed of maybe ten thousand cassette tapes he recorded news here in Australia and news and music from a station that broadcasts in his language. Also we disposed of thousands of Australian technology magazines he collected from the 1940's showing all the new and coming tech at the time. We know a lot of this would've been worth quite of bit of money if sold or given to some history place but that would've taken a long time and we needed to empty the house quickly so we could repair and move in, the house was like a hoarders house and nearly everybroom was inaccessible, this was just before cov19 when rent went crazy and prices rose.
I did react to Help (live) but it got blocked and dispute denied. But definitely will check out more eventually. I swear im not lying that i was thinking about this earlier today.
