He was 18 or 19 in 1990. Which would mean he was playing Atari, NES, or possibly P.C. games on floppy disks. Unless he didn't remember how old he was when he stopped playing. I'm gonna say NES tho. 1984-1985 seems like the years he would have stopped.
i thinks its good that hes does this, i know hes finding it hard to speak about his past but its good that hes trying to answer his fans, im sure as a kid he would have loved for hendrix his questions and so he is doing it for his fans
i can't contain myself- I JUST WANT TO HUG HIM !!.. goddamn, we love you john, just relax man :D thanks for posting. such a sweetheart. the epitome of an artist.
I know what you mean man, people that brag too much and people that are overly obviously modest, almost sarcastically modest john is probably one of the kindest guys in this business
The very first time I heard Fru's cover of "Big Takeover," I immediately thought of "Battle of Evermore." John Coltrane used to have a way of expressive playing that very few people have been able to acheive. John Frusciante is among those people.
people keep telling me that i have no ambition , i have bad grades and my parents keep forcing me to study, my friends tell my i have no self respect for not caring for grades, all i do i s play the guitar and write, i felt bad about my self for all they said but listening to john really helped me.
don;t know if anyone said this, but i thought that bssm was recorded in that house where they filmed funky monks? they supposedly slept there but here he says at 4:44 that he'd come home and sing punk rock songs too himself :o just a random thought. john frusciante is awesome.
If you can make money for your living, and you are independent, you can do what you want. If your parents pay your living, then it's not the case. They can expect things out of you.
But he is talking about Shadows Collide With People which is his solo album from 2004,and he is saying that RHCP will maybe release their next album double so it is either 2004 or 2005. It can´t be earlier. :-)
i agree with bruce2256. all of their work is great. one hot minute is kind of dark so i dont listen to it (except when its on the radio or something). but Red Hot Chili Peppers (self titled), Freaky Styley, and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan are beautiful and fantastic to hear in a different way than Mothers Milk and BSSM. Which are different than Californication, By the Way and Stadium Arcadium. ITS ALL FUCKING AMAZING-NESS
I think that kind of inlays decoration on the fretboard is probably from made in 70's instrument, not so sure about fender guitars but at lest in fender basses all of the post 1970 and pre 1980 made, have those inlays, but if that's the case it'd be rare cause John always uses made in the 60's and even 50's guitars
yeah...I think he is..later he says that he writes a lot of sad songs because he´s still sad sometimes, because his feeling while he wasn´t with the rhcp were intensive sadness ans lonelyness and that´s still ap part of him
@MAD2654 thats BULLSHIT, just cause he pauses and mumbles alil doesnt mean his brain isnt as good as it once was, in fact he is an extremely sharp, bright, intelligent man and more so then ever now, so dont say bullshit like that just cause the way he talks changed
no he wasn't. he's clean now, shut up. the reason because he is so slow in talking is because of all the drugs he did. so i don't think he would be so stupid to repeat those mistakes. Plus, he's always very zen since after that experience, when he started meditating a lot
@MrBrucelee117 Black Knights mentioned doing weed with John. He's also regularly seen with wine bottles, you can also see them laying on his table in The Past Recedes video. John also mentioned going through a PCP phase while recording acid house music.
i am not a pro with this stuff, but i believe a four track is a recording device that can take four different tracks (guitar, bass, drums, vocals) and uses them to make one recording. Not sure though, just a hunch.
Good morning dude he already did it. for example, Niandra Lades. by himself, in the age of 24. who else can do that? It's too much work for a regular average one person. not for Frusciante.
Thanks for sharing this! I learned a lot about John & the Chili Peppers thanks to this :) I believe it was recorded between 2002 and 2005 since he talks a lot about 'By the way'-related songs. Is there any way you could send some of those to me ? If you want to trade, I'd be cool with that :) Thanks
