I think no matter who you are or what ever music you’re into your instantly drilled into johns presence and the way he distributes he’s style of playing music. He created that style of playing. Just like Hendrix created he’s own style back in the day. They make it look easy aswel. Like they were only born to do that. 😇
@@barrypinney6723true! John really has that quality. I enjoy listening to anyone that gets lost in their playing, and it’s just them and guitar. You know who does that to me as well has always been Kurt Cobain. Listen to all of his acoustic work, especially since they put out they put it those “Montage of Heck: Home Recordings” where it’s just him playing, but for me ALL those old acoustic recordings have that same effect that your talking about. The long version of “Old Age” is probably my all time favorite. In a different way, Jim Morrison does for me as well from a lyrical standpoint in that spoken word album, of which, interestingly enough from my understanding the music was added posthumously.
Everytime I see this version it reminds me of my past. A newly sober person trying to re-adapt to the world and still not comfortable with anything. I’m so proud of him. I don’t know who was looking out for you up there but they saved thousands by saving you. God bless you John Frusciante

thats why i love john, he makes songs and does solo's/chord progressions'/riffs that aren't difficult and flashy (though he could) he just does whats best for the song. i've seen him show what he can do and its mind blowing.

I watch this every Valentine's Day. This is kind of a big deal that Much Music, the biggest pop music station in Canada at the time, let him promote his album and do a live set.
I agree…rhcp is more surface mainstream level, radio friendly…but his solo works actually make you think about life ..btw how’s the guitar playin going again?
Crazy to think this was 19 year's ago today I will never forget this came home early from high school on this shitty day ! And this forever changed my Life.
On the studio version there's a sound effect near the end that sounds like a space shift about to take flight. It gives me goosebumps. Live version is amazing. That whole album is amazing!
I feel so happy for John right now, back everything he does 100% and I feel he is really beginning to come into his own as a solo artist now, he will clearly go down as one of the great minds along with Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Beethoven, Da Vinci...the list is endless.

wasn't so sure about frusciante's voice when i first heard his solo stuff, but now i really love it, hes kinda got that deep singin voice which is unorthodox, yet he can go really high pitched.
Emre Tamer personally i appreciate him much more outside of rhcp, not saying that I prefer josh in replacement to him, but the music he makes outside of rhcp is so amazing and i think he's doing what he loves whereas he wasnt happy in rhcp ygm

for me, when he plays his $10 guitar and screams sooths my soul more than when he is recorded with the chili peppers and make seemless and perfect. dont get me wrong his work with the chili peppers is spell bounding, but there is nothing i would give to see him live, warts and all. what a musical genious...
This was *the first song* I _ever_ learned to play on guitar. Quick Story, It was 2001, I was 16, and all I cared about was hip-hop. I was EXCLUSIVELY known as _"that kid that's always freestyling"_ at school. And then I heard this song. And *right away* it spoke to me, and about a week later I purchased an acoustic guitar. By the end of my senior year people referred to me as _"That kid that's always playing guitar"._
Really? I think this performance is awesome. He looks like everything around him just disapears and its just him, his guitar, and the music. I love how much he gets into it. The more the artist gets into their music, the easier it is for me to get into it also.
Lol, I first saw it on MTV2 (back in 2001). It was one of their “handpicked” selections which were mostly just early indie songs. I loved this song so much.

this song is easy and simple.. so? your right this song doesn't show what he can do. the guy is capable of putting some guitar gods people hold highly to shame. yet he just does whats best for the song, thats why i love him.
Probably one of the best pieces of music ever made as far as i'm conserned. Much better than the album version imo. There is not many music that make me feel emotional but this just grabs me. I heard John is vaccinated, this makes me sad, i hope he will be ok.
Yea every album is a different style. They got something to listen to no matter what mood im in. Just unreal...not many bands have that. Their music is magic for for the soul.
