I think it's rhythmically impossible to replicate this intro.

Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt is the debut solo album by John Frusciante, released on November 22, 1994. The album's first half, Niandra LaDes, was recorded before Frusciante left the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1992, during the recording of Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The second half, Usually Just a T-Shirt, was recorded while the band was on tour in the months leading up to Frusciante's departure. Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt sold poorly upon it's release in 1994. It was re-released in 1999. According to Frusciante, he was stoned for every single note he played on the album. He increased his drug use to cope with worsening depression that was caused by leaving the Red Hot Chili Peppers and his isolation.

that sounds spot on, you got a great ear for music. thats one album i wish i couldve played along with from start to finish. its the album ive listened to the most times, religiously when it first came out and for the next 10 years its what i'd fall asleep to every night. i still remember the scream at around 2:40 in Blood On My Neck From Sucess would always wake me up and scare the crap out of me if i was drifting off. " WHATS THE POINT " 🤣

this was made in ‘94, one of of frusciantes darkest years, spending upwards of $500 a day on drugs. we’re so unbelievably blessed we didn’t lose another absolute legend to substance abuse and he made it through that time.

no, this is completely wrong and many people mistake SFTSYH with Niandra. This song in particular was recorded in 92 just before he quit the band, probably during the spring. The album version of this is recorded while high on weed

So cool, I want to learn to play the song so bad but I just can't do it by ear and there are no tabs or tutorials available
@freezingmoon6404
@freezingmoon6404 2 года назад
brother, I've learned so much from Thony, most of the tabs online are wrong so please don't be lazy, ok? smoke some pot, drink tea or whatever you on cus it takes ~10mins to analyze his fingers with slowmo if needed, I use pen and paper sometimes for figuring out the frets ( no real tabs needed ). Let's challenge ourselves as guitarists :D

@@freezingmoon6404 Glad I could Help! My rhythm is quite off in the middle part, but I think I'm playing the right notes. I'm also in Drop D by the way.
