Any interview with John Heart is worth it.

9:25 Longevity exercises: neck, grip, rotator cuff, hip rotator cuff. [Two heavy-duty workouts + one longevity specific. Train your neck to save your life.] 13:10 I'm quick to admit when someone deserves it. (sportsmanship, humility, respect, honesty) 14:35 I would choose the harder, shorter route in anything as opposed to the moderate effort much longer route.😮 Except for sex 😅 (model) 16:48 The Year of Training Dangerously (name a theme for each upcoming year to set a clear intention)

This is an amazing channel, so much information from great lifters, keep it up because if everybody knew about this channel it will blow up, just so much real information, who needs a trainer when you can listen to these experts

I am going to be 65 and have changed my routines up as well as incorporating super high intensity on my last sets,i cut my workout times in half as well as volume and number of exercises...ju st over last week i started a new split to where i lift intense 4 times per week...i feel like i am improving everyday...training like this for me is so easy by myself in my 300 sq ft home gym...love it

Planning workouts is a way to go, learned this from Finnish bodybuilders in the 90s. Many bodybuilders used it, including Lee Labrada. But Weider magazine did not usually promote it. Only Ian Harrison talked about it in Flex magazine.

John when you talk about the 12 week ramping up periodisation did you mean starting easy and not going to failure then in week 9 onwards start going to failure

No I think he's talking about strength work with lower reps during winter months on his big main compound lifts and everything else just single work set bodybuilding work set. Then in warmer months probably back to higher rep ranges on everything classic 8-12 or 12-15. No heavy stuff like doubles, triples, and fives. Just the way I took that.

No man, he never does doubles or triples. 5 is the absolute lowest he goes in that power phase. Classic Linear Periodization is 8 or 12 weeks...independent of season.

Good interview but I don't believe he put on 6 lbs in that month 6 months. Lighting is tremendously different and makes a huge difference in the.look. The only way to really know is to do an accurate body fat test and lean mass. Any veteran natural bodybuilder knows you don't put on that kind of muscle that late in a career.

Is stretching in the dumbell pullover exercise good for shoulder health? Even with medium wieght for a long stretch as far as possible

Focus on warming up and not so much on the aspect of stretching

My rule of thumb is to always listen to your joints. If it hurts...don't do it. I've heard pull overs are bad and I've heard they're good...same with upright rows. I think to just listen to your body...it doesn't lie.

Heart is naive to say hit works best. I made more gains on volume compared to hit

You're naive to say volume works best. He made more gains on hit compared to volume. See how dumb that sounds? Some gain best on hit style. Some gain best on volume. THAT is the secret to training. Find out what's best for YOU. And don't be so arrogant. You just sound dumb.
