Been a John Hiatt fan for years. Been a Jerry Douglas fan for years. Put them together...WOW!! It's so good to know that songs and performances like this continue to fill my heart with so much happiness. Thanks for reminding me that there's still great music being made today!! Dig, DmGrk
Oh yeah, John and Jerry, why - has - it - taken - so - long -y'all?! I'm not much impressed yet by some of the songs, but the feel, the atmosphere, dare I say it the "groove"? My Catalan wife (who has very good English but understandably doesn't understand the sometimes muttered singing of Messrs Springsteen, Dylan, Hiatt, Earle, etc., just loves the 'feel' of this album. And hey, if Bob D can turn 80 having just turned out a remarkable album, let's hope John H can give us a lot more years. Let's go to **Nashville** in the meantime, baby...!
@@paulmartin3725 Hey Paul.....I can agree...some of the songs are just "Ok"....but that's alright. The feel, the atmosphere is still there...and yes, the "Groove"..LOL. A friend of mine in the UK (I'm in California) has a Mixlr Radio show. I asked him to play this track, and he emailed me later to tell me that there were about 50 people commenting in a "positive" way....they were just loving it!! Nonetheless, I look forward to more John Hiatt stuff and Jerry Douglas stuff in the next many years!!
Got my copy just the other day.., I'd heard tracks 1&2 (love them both...), but from the first note of track#3 "The Music Is Hot".., I was blown away.., I looked at my cd player and just said "damn John..!"... amazing cd end-to-end...
