I feel like Jerry has that Tony Rice magic of making everyone around him play better. I love every band this guy plays with. Also, he's been looking really happy and healthy.
I've seen Jerry play for as long as I can remember. 100's of videos, TV appearances, but I never wondered what would Jerry play if he wasn't featured along side of some other massive talent. As if that would be enough. No! Jerry puts together this little unit and weaves his own special magic. I'm glad I wondered what would Jerry do own his own. I enjoyed this. Thanks
@@jackieringersma7003 when “Slide Rule” was released, we saw him at the Philadelphia folk Festival. I believe at the time they used to call him the dobro wizard.
Brilliant music. Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe turned me on to Jerry's music. Lots of respect in this wide community of musicians. Their willingness to collaborate is joyful for us audiences.
I loved this wee session SO MUCH!!! Great selection of tunes, Jerry. I believe I was at the 1st Del Fest. And another thing.....Jerry looks wonderful; so healthy and better than the last few years. So glad he is taking care of himself. Thanks so much for recording this in the tin box for our enjoyment!! Terrific!
I wish I could be at a Del fest. It would be something to take to my grave when my time comes .But for now I get to see it on my phone to enjoy and share with my friends that I know would appreciate it as I do.
Uuhh yeah.. probably the best ever.. Justin Moses (Sierra Hull's husband ), is "not too shabby" either. This year's Del Fest line up is nothing short of AMAZING..!!! The best of the best. !!!!
Incredible music. Jerry Douglas' Dobro playing, it doesn't get much better than that. While It doesn't seem as though it's going to happen, I do wish there would be one more final reunion of Alison Kraus and Union Station with a new album and full tour.
I would surely buy an album with these recordings and the exact same personel ,sound and gear,,,,,The last album was a little too fusion for my taste ,but this lineup is purely AMAZING! The Beard axes are such a nice contribution too ... This is the best Bluegrass Quartet at the scene right now ! Jerry Douglas is the absolute american music and culture ambassador of our times ! Hats off
hah. Sam Bush was scheduled to play at the Strawberry Music Fest on Memorial Day Weekend (last week), and his band couldn't make it so he did a 2 hour set entirely solo, playing mando, guitar, fiddle, you name it. freekin' awesome stuff.
