John Lowe was booked by my dad for an fund raising evening , playing local players drawn in a raffle, at the local community centre. He arrived.. then asked … where is the dart board? My dad assumed he would bring 😂😂 .. Dad came home in a panic and took my paper wound board from the garage. When I looked the next morning the area around the treble 20 looked like a wasps nest after a jetwash . Pulp
He was shit average back in the day, he stayed when they all left because he had a better chance winning BDO. Look at his record when all the good players were still in BDO.
@@kanifuker721 Yep - he was an also ran at Lakeside in the 90s and 2000s. It's pretty convenient when the guy who always beats you (Barney) leaves to play in a different tournament.
@@junglejamesie It was actually the same year as this - 2001 - along with Tony Green & John Part - a little weird considering Taylor had thrashed Part 7-0 in the PDC World final a few days before.
Eligibility rules were different then, there were a few other BDO players played in some of these tournaments. When it was made compulsory to be a member of the PDPA to play in PDC tournaments it ruled out BDO players from participating unless they switched full time.
This was one hell of a game!! Yeah Adams played in three seperate PDC tournaments around this period, 2000 + 2001 World Matchplay and this one later that year. Afterwards he came back yeah to the two recent Grand Slam tournaments in 2015 and 2016. He was a joy to watch tbh in the Grand Slam, played some great darts.
+Chris Clark ....Hilarious, so you wouldn't rate Van Gerwen even though he's won everything and even threw a televised 9 darter aged 17 against Barney?. Youngest player ever to win the PDC.
