I gotta respect and admire the fella. He's never wallowed in the sanctimonious BS. He's the one that has truly never "sold out". Not to "the business" and not to the holier-than-thou brigade. A true gem.
this guy has a vast vocabulary and in every single interview I've seen about him. hes always well spoken and has a lot of culture. very intelligent man. respect
Ian Oliver because he grew up seeing n living poverty n was strengthen by it...gets alot respect from this Irish man...we need more honest straight foward humans, not lying plastic cheating greedy animals...(no offense to animals mind you)..
Mr Lydon, my humblest apology to you. In the 70's I didn't understand you and now I realise you were years ahead of your time. Talking sense. Not many do. Thank you.
I absolutely love Johnny! Out of all the stars, he is my favourite and the best! famous person! Admire his honesty and integrity. Such an intelligent and fascinating man with a heart of gold! Respect! ❤❤❤
YOU have to LOVE his honesty ..........awesome how fresh it is too hear an pure honest person With common sense who is grounded .....much respect for this man
yes so do I , it's not a bad thing and he is you have to say, but he does not always get it right , you have to think for yourself as well, don't take what he says as the truth , it's not always .
@Midnight Dreary a bit over the top millionaire ? I doubt that very much, if you put all his assets together house and so on, you might get somewhere near it, he's well off , and playing in a band can be very hard work, it's not a coal face , but it's grueling and stressful and difficult at times, few of us in our working life ,have to deal with trying to keep your mates off smack and so, but yes , I do agree with you , that in this interview clip nothing much was discussed , honest is cool, but truth is better and he doesn't always tell you what is true , just what he thinks is ...
Johnny boy ,it doesn’t take the brains of rocking horse to work out the biggest crooks are, have and always will be in high office .When ordinary folk make money unfortunately it is often accompanied by hypocrisy. The poor have existed since the beginning of civilisation, there is more inequality trying to make something which is unequal equal ,man has for the most part been a selfish bastard .
michelle88960 - Bono in front of 50,000 people at a concert, slowly clapping his hands: “Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies!“ Voice from the back: “Well stop clapping then you cruel fucker!“ Was that the time he left his hat in Australia and had it flown back first class in a jumbo jet to America?
A lot of rich people and celebs evade taxes, yes, but giving money to charities isn't the wisest way to 'evade taxation' as that money is still spent and there are still rules around how it is being claimed for deductions. It's not that simple. I fucking hate how complicated the tax systems are, frankly, but that's why we have accountants, I guess.
It’s not always evasion it’s a charitable tax deduction. And every U.S. citizen is allowed to deduct for taxes. The rich just have more to do it with. 🤷🏽
Love and respect this mans honesty... I live the same life and people tell me I have no filter... I tell them if u don’t want the truth then don’t ask me the question ❤️❤️ xxx
Totally agree can’t stand Bob gelded bono and sting now this man speaks the truth to please no one he speaks the truth those ads demonstrated a great sense of British humour
A lesson to us all about being grounded and having morals. I was never really a fan of the SP however I think P.I.L was/is a brilliant vehicle for conveying things John and other members wanted to.
Rock on Johnny for PM and true what he said about those live Aid thieving mongrels like Geldof & company who stole all the cash for themselves none landed for the intended poor.
To be fair to Phil Collins, he initially believed the idea of performing in both continents to be a bad one, but was told he wasn't the only one and that several other artists would be joining him. Given that, it would've been a big deal and raised further awareness of the cause. He found out too late that he was the only one doing it and was of course very angry about it.
Love him. Fuck the world. He is real. He rebuffed the criticism for the butter ads by saying he used it to get P.I.L. back touring. Fair enough. How can anyone down that??
