That’s not anger on Diane Abbot’s face it’s confusion. She’s hearing someone with principles talk plain truth - she has no idea how to confront it or deal with it.
Nah, she's a comfortable fat arsehole playing the system, race card, expenses, privileges, to the detriment of everyone, black, white, brown, pink, you name it.
my life has currently gone to shit and I come to RU-vid to watch Lyndon videos and laugh and feel human again. Thank you Johnny, you anything but rotten :D
Yes, I have come to watch John's videos for a different reason. I'm sick of all the political and religious crap you see on tv in recent times but watching John over the past few weeks has grounded me. Its helped me to see what's really important and to remain honest with yourself. We lose our way for a while with all the shit that's gone down in recent years, John's honesty and simple sensible philosophies are just what we need right now.
@Anderson Cooper because there were also people in higher places than saville who where also involved in this type of behaviour....went right to the top...just look at Andrew of the so called prince variety
Diane Abbott 😂 you thick sad joke...... how the hell has this thing got in to the position she has in the labour government just sones up the Labour Party 🤣😂🤣😂
He's a good lad is, Johnny. Always bang-on the money, always honest, and always, always himself no matter who it pissed off. Sad he's witnessing his wife of 40yrs succumb to Alzhimers, but so glad he's her only carer.
I saw him being interviewed, about his wife, very sad know how difficult it is to care for someone with Dementia, cared for my Dad for five years he passed away last year during the last lockdown, couldn't see him in hospital because of covid no visiting allowed in the care home, & had to say goodbye to him over the phone, so I totally understand why he wouldn't put his wife in a care home with what is happening in the world with covid, was too young for the Sex pistols so was more into Public Image Ltd, he's a British national treasure.
this bloke knew the truth in the 70s and everyone needs to listen to him today. We're not allowed to be angry, voice an opinion, swim against the current...
To many 'snowflakes' nowadays, that wouldn't know the truth even if you explained it to them the way you begin to teach babies at the nursery schools!!! WURZO 2020 -1968 -
@@joehilner4830 Proven my point mate.... but with all this social media BS, the fact almost everyone has a computer and camera in their pocket nowadays, the lemmings police themselves. One mis judged act of aggression / anger is spread far and wide within seconds and the person displaying that is vilified and ridiculed.... Jonny et al showed us (me) the way to defy, be angry and not care about the mundane... who do they have today?? Simon Cowell's mob? Adam Lambert? FFS they have no chance...peace
Best autobiography I've ever read, could not put it down, most colourful, honest, emotional, well written book ever! Totally fell in love and respected in all he stood for! And all he's done with his life! I highly recommend it! My best read in many years! What a journey he takes the reader on! What intelligence! Well done John. X
Johnny is such a legend. Says what everybody else is thinking. Inside that anger is a lovely, genuine individual. And what a great interview! You need to begin with common interests - trains! I bet Portello breathed a sigh of relief!! Lol
I love this man, he’s an iconic guy , bang on with his comments. I’d love to see him as a regular on andrews new up and coming real news show, he’d shake the establishment to the core I’m sure of that
Thanks for posting this interview. Although lacking in any new content, it shows the viewer how John maintains his message without compromise and without alienating his detractors.
@@SilverShamrock71 an accusation with no charges filed. Do you have an actual link to racism with him? Like an actual conviction or something with actual evidence not just hearsay? He could have just lost a fight then tried to play the race card.
Great interview. Abbot's face at the beginning is brilliant. Before he's even opened his mouth she's made her bigoted mind up which, as a black woman, she should know better. Joins in at the end so she doesn't look bad but...too late, darlin'. Portillo gets the Johnny glad-hand for being human and genuine - she gets nowt and deservedly so. Andrew Neil is great here.
Andrew Neil seems to have a lot of respect for John and his views. Always liked Andrew Neil but he's really shot up in my estimation having watched this interview.
5:27 anger has disappeared from the discourse? Where do we start with that one...John Lydon's such a fascinating character. Don't have enough of them these days.
Johnny is a lot more eloquent and astute than any moronic member of parliament. He is not drunk he is just being himself and telling it how it is as he always does.
I love John, I watched Arsenal win the league against Liverpool ( Michael Thomas goal ) with him up at John Henry’s N London, if my memory serves correct. He was so happy he took me and a few broke mates out on the piss all night to celebrate. A very generous nice guy
I saw him through the window at the Randolph Hotel it's the poshest Hotel in Oxford so it's quite posh as you can imagine it's not the travel lodge and anyone who's anyone including royalty stay there it's just a bit ironic him staying there
I would love to see Abbott and John put in the same room ....after about an hour , John would have mentally verbally have her tongue twisted......he is incredibly intelligent...Top man John
I agree with you, unlike these guys' replies, no matter where he lives. Punk was a bit of anger, a bit of using your voice, NOT violence.. Lost on most people. John Lydon gave so many people the strength, courage and will, to change things.. He did his job, and did it well.. I don't blame him for fucking off. I bet he had more shit than anyone deserves. He earned a holiday.
@@davidbaines1425 he left London for America because the police kept raiding his house, they did it that much he knew some of the police by name, ps the climate in LA played a little part I bet lol
He is 100% Correct my daughter saved herself (with help at London hospital) to beat meningitis. I tried to calm her but doctor Jaffe said or rather shouted no her anger and will to live is what is keeping her alive.
If I could use a quote of Lydon which most accurately tells who Lydon is, I would use the one with which he opens the "Beware of Mr. Baker" documentary. "This film is about Ginger Baker, a man who stands for something in life that most of you do not. Love and appreciation, no matter how awkward his character might be!" That quote just fits Lydon himself so perfectly.
He does bang that anger drum a little too much don’t he? He’s right though, I’ve heard anger being called ‘a redundant emotion’, which it is, at least redundant as an emotion. But it can, & does, energise & invigorate & can be used proactively, as catalyst for action/change. Unless, however, that anger stems from anger at oneself, or is is directed at oneself - is internalised - therefore becoming a wholly negative & destructive poison. Love how Lydon’s presence seems to offend Abbot & Portillo’s middle-class, metropolitan, Islington sensibilities too. She’s f**kin seething 😤
I think Portillo would get on with him just great to be fair. He was laughing most of the time... Lydon can be a bit overpowering but I think they'd agree on a lot. Abbot on the other hand... no.
You have to respect John if for no other reason than the fact that his consistency of sticking to his morals and principals ,and calling himself out when he knows he's said something that turned out to be wrong , not many celebrities in the entertainment industry can say that .
I like John, and always have. Yes, he's contradictory, but he doesn't try to hide it. He's had a few here by the looks of it, but even so, he's still unapologetically who he is. I don't think he fakes it, cause he'd be knackered by now and no one is that good an actor to keep a performance running for nearly 40 years. He's still genuinely riled and quite sensitive to boot, about a lot of things, so even age hasn't fully mellowed him out. Maybe in another 10 years he'll have mellowed out..or maybe he just doesn't want to mellow out. He's a bit of a curmudgeon, but he's good people.
I often wonder how he is in real life, personal settings, rather than in media settings. I'm sure his distaste for journalists has made him look like a difficult character. Ever since the sex pistols he's put journalists for a loop, knowing that it won't matter what he says, it's all just a circus & they'll just print what they want. He's completely comfortable with himself, so he could care less about expectations. It's too bad there aren't more ppl like him-everybody can learn something from him! He doesn't come across as hateful, he just doesn't have time for foolishness like preconceptions & assumptions. Most ppl like gossip & rumor, John is about honesty & principles, which is pretty rare in the music "biz"! Of course, I haven't personally met him, but the vibe I get from his interviews feels like he's being sincere. Obviously it's different from person to person, especially if a person already has preconceived notions & opinions! I see a lot of hateful comments all over, but that's normal-ppl hate what they don't understand & fear! It also means success as well!
Love John , you need to vote larz. I voted green , they run Totness Devon, we are next door. Totness is much better. They have a real high street, butchers, you name it, amazing fruit and veg. shop. Superb market, the cheese shop is also amazing. Starbucks & Costa/Mc donalds all given the boot! Not much to choose vote wise, but its all we have. Try more local stuff and direct action. Anger is indeed an Energy!
Diane needs to be less dismissive of Mr Rotten. He helped change the establishment, music, fashion, attitudes to youth. He made the older generation wake up in the 70s. Like him or not we have a lot to be thankful for.
If I didn't "know" butte, er sorry better, I'd swear that was a Malcolm McLaren line every bit as much as: "I'm a rock 'n' roll puppet in a band named Bow Wow Wow".
À wholly genuine individual and most perceptive about individuals and situations. His forthright opinions always interest me and he’s mostly right. I must read his autobiography...x
It's really smart, what John says. Anger IS an energy and those that don't think with anger are probably scheming to get under or around something. Anger can be focused and pulled together as a passion to resolve in getting things done. Anger is the opposite of quitting and can PUSH us to work towards completion.
... And next week Andrew Neil will be talking to the Spice Girls about how "girl power" has transformed opportunities for women in the workplace since the 1990s...
I wonder whether Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ever been influenced by this man. Klopp is always going on about how he wants his team to be 'angry' when they take to the field. Let's face it, to play football the way Klopp wants his teams to play, you need a hell of a lot of energy.
His parents completely misheard the Sri Lankan doctor at the hospital, who didn’t want him eating anything before taking his medication. He had actually said “ keep him hungry “
