But, considering that their middle schools have enough funds to have involvement in the marching arts, and have that carry over to the high school. It's money. Having Mapes as an instructor? Money. Having a community support the program? Money. Having the resources to create a competitive field/indoor show? Money. They work hard and have the resources to preform the way they do, don't get me wrong. But you can't deny that having money doesn't help them the way that it does.

@@rutzou not really. the jr. High has totally different funds. The school, district, and state doesn't give us anything except for the band room itself, and a band director. A lot of what we pay for individually comes from fundraisers, same thing goes for the Jr. High. We have sponsors because of past performance, and because of both John and Ian's connections. The program doing good makes all of them look good too. It's not like we're dirt poor or anything, but we're definitely not wiping our noses with 100 dollar bills or whatever some people think we do. Definitely grateful for everything we have though, just think the whole "they're rich, they have so much money" thing is tired, not really true, and that it undermines the work we put in. Sorry if we ever gave the impression of being rich A-holes

Connor Benson Mapes has been at Chino Hills HS since 2005. He BUILT that program. He didn’t throw money at it, he taught his ass off for 15 years, and that’s when you get results- consistency and excellence. Money is only one facet of making a great experience for the students.

FloMarching I can’t afford to travel to 99% of the events. I’m in a state where there are no corps. The only thing there is is one WGI Ind. group. So making my own content isn’t an option :( Y’all are my only source of mb content 😭

The angle helps compliment the traditional left. When drums were on slings traditional grip was developed because the drums were tilted at an angle. I suppose it’s more preference on the director. My line uses the angle and I believe it’s way easier to play on an angle than it is a flat drum. But everyone has their own preference. I like it both ways:)
