I've always thought how cool this would sound on guitar! Fun fact, when the first electric guitars came around, acoustic guitars had typically always been rhythm/harmonic instruments, not melodic/solo as acoustic guitars are usually not loud enough to play a melody above a band. So because electric guitarists didn't have examples to learn from as this was a new thing, they started copying trumpet and sax players solos, because those instruments had fulfilled that role up to that point.
