This explains why the song amazes me from the first second to the last every time I listen to it. New Light is one of my all time favorite songs, because it is so unique and yet simple, carefree. ❤️
John is a great teacher so this is incredible for songwriters. I would do anything to see John breaking down and explain the process behind his other songs. Even other songs that he just enjoys. Just explaining the little things in the production and the writing of it. That would be so dope.

The initial loop (0:48) is what I like the most in this song, I think it's amazing. Especially the more high-pitched notes in it, they punctuate the song so well.

I LOVE the turnaround. It's SO simple, all you're really doing is using one more chord in there, the bass is walking up essentially.... but it's so different that it catches you and pulls you into the song. It's definitely my favorite moment.
I love this video and song, I heard this song one day and I fell in love with it instantly. I listen to it when I’m not having a good day and even when I just want to listen to it for no exact reason (which is almost everyday). The song just blends together so peacefully (especially the “ah,ah,ah,ah,ahhh” part! I usually NEVER sing out loud but when I hear this song, I have no choice but to sing my heart out.
