John Mayer tone with Hot Rod Deluxe! 

Man amazing playing and amazing tones; I liked your other JM video but this one is next level and really nails the tone, and these ideas can be applied to a lot of different styles not just JM.

The silver sky is really impressive just directly into the amp like that. Nice video! I'll be picking a HR deluxe next!

Recently played on the hotrod deluxe a few times. I love it. It's way louder then I will ever need but for jazz it's great.

noice... good examples of different settings and effects with the hot rod. playing/groove is incredibly good! i modded mine a bit ( better reverb control, 12ay7 in the v1 preamp, and changed out all capacitors, and lifted some resistors,as they slowly burn the board)

The Hotrod Deluxe is an excellent amp, I had a hotrod deluxe ML that I sold to buy my current Super Reverb. The HRD (and the 65 SRRI of course) can do Mayer tones and more.

Wow, really great Mayer tones and amazing playing too! After watching this, I am finally convinced that Hot Rod will be a great buy. Would you recommend buying Hot Rod Deluxe 4 or older ones? Thanks for reply.

Hey Gab nice work I particularly like JM ……. a lot of your tones sound very similar….but a lot has to do with your great touch also ! IMO I’m newbie too all pedals etc have owned a Princeton Chorus for last 26 years great clean sounding amp …. Never ventured into the pedal arena , “BUT” recently I purchased new HRD ( luv it ) + boss Blues Driver + boss DD3 to try my hand at pedals. In order to achieve similar sounds to what I heard you play What pedals would you add to my two pedals ? Btw my guitar is an Eric Clapton journeyman custom shop. Once again keep up the good work you’ve got great touch and great tone. Andrew from Downunder

I actually prefer my HRD IV over my Twin. It’s lighter, not as loud, and has a smoother warmer top end. I play r&b clean 90% of the time and when I need leads I kick on my Angry Charlie.

I heard tonemaster for someone who doesn't want to go the tube way, would you recommend one of the Fender tonemaster? By the way congrats on 3K been here below 1k!!

Nice work with the control on your tone(s)! I have a HRDx and like it for what it's made for. Any of your effects here in your effects loop, or are they all before the pre amp? Also, what's your opinion on the stock speaker? I ask as there are a lot of posts out there on upgrading the speaker and I haven't as I don't know if it's worth it. Also what' your thoughts about the 112 cabinet vs a speaker upgrade?

These tones are insane-I don’t get it lmao. Why would anyone need anything more? But this is a 40 watt beast? Is this even usable at home levels? Do the cleans work at low volumes, or does it jump from inaudible to way too loud? Thanks!
