Will McCormick I highly recommend looking for the “ game change” book or hbo movie version of that book. The decent people on the campaign quickly realized what a terrible mistake they had made in picking her. By the time she was openly engaging the racist part of the base, they were done trying. As I recall as it got closer to election day in 2008, it looked increasingly likely that Obama was going to win regardless of what McCain did. Might as well have fun right? Kind of reminds me of SNL's Dukakis After Dark sketch in 1988, except the real Dukakis didn't do that bit. I was impressed that both McCain and his wife agreed to appear in this and they seemed to have fun doing it.
